  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:30 GMT 9 December 2025

    Charlton 0-2 Middlesbrough

    Middlesbrough nearly three up!

A free-kick from the right is met beyond the near post by sub Luke Ayling, who manages to flick a header on from just inside the Charlton box which smashes the crossbar with Thomas Kaminski beaten in the Addicks goal.

    That would have been that.

There has been a big momentum shift here. The changes have rocked Coventry, they have got some defending to do and they have got to get their act together.

Just under 10 minutes of normal time remaining at Deepdale.

Coventry are clearly stunned by that Preston leveller.

But can they make their advantage count against the 10-man Lilywhites before full-time? Or will it be a 24th unsuccessful attempt to win a league game away at North End for the Sky Blues?

Second-placed Middlesbrough are currently winning against Charlton.

  5. 'Game plan working for Norwich'published at 21:27 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 1-1 Norwich

    Ryan Bennett
Former Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

Norwich are doing well to stick to their game plan. They are clearly doing what the manager wants and it is working so far.

  6. Postpublished at 21:27 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 1-1 Norwich

Since the Norwich equaliser, not a lot of opportunities to tell you about.

Sheffield United, since their goal, have been a little safe in their play with the passes being played in front of Norwich's defence rather than in behind it.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:27 GMT 9 December 2025

    Southampton 3-1 West Bromwich Albion

Albion have a couple of big chances but Gavin Bazunu is on hand to produce a couple of fine stops.

The Baggies pile on the pressure from three consecutive corners but Bazunu and Ryan Manning both take credit for keeping the ball out of the net.

  8. Postpublished at 21:25 GMT 9 December 2025

    Charlton 0-2 Middlesbrough

A delicious Charlton corner from the left gives them a great opportunity to get a goal back but a wonderful defensive header from Boro defender Alfie Jones, practically on his own goal line, clears the danger for the visitors.

    Fantastic defending from the centre-half.

  9. 'Coventry not reactive enough'published at 21:23 GMT 9 December 2025

    Preston 1-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

We really haven't adjusted well enough to their changes. Jebbison has been great for them tonight, very good finish from him for the goal.

That isn't what Coventry want but they just haven't been reactive enough.

  10. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-1 Coventrypublished at 21:22 GMT 9 December 2025

    Daniel Jebbison (76 mins)

    Ooh er.

Just six minutes after the league leaders took the lead courtesy of Andrew Hughes turning into his own net, Preston level at the other end!

Daniel Jebbison does incredibly well to stretch a leg out onto a ball into the box from Pol Valentin to put the hosts back on level terms.

    Food for thought for Coventry.

  12. goal

GOAL: Swansea 1-0 Portsmouthpublished at 21:22 GMT 9 December 2025

    Liam Cullen (78 mins)

A big goal for Swansea late on in this game, they lead Portsmouth!

It's a beautiful strike by Liam Cullen who shoots from the edge of the box and fires the ball into the top left-hand corner of the net.

Portsmouth have 10 minutes to try to rescue something from this game.

  13. WHAT A MISSpublished at 21:22 GMT 9 December 2025

    QPR 1-0 Birmingham

    HOW has Richard Kone missed?!

A clipped ball finds the striker completely unmarked at the back, six yards out, but he fires a left-footed volley wide of the near post. It really should be 2-0.

Kone can't believe he has missed that one! Will Rangers rue that wasted opportunity?

  14. PENALTY TO BLACKBURNpublished at 21:21 GMT 9 December 2025

Jack Currie is judged to have handled and Oxford concede a penalty.

Can Blackburn get back on level terms?!

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:21 GMT 9 December 2025

No hat-trick for Adam Armstrong today as he comes off and is replaced by Jay Robinson.

Watford win a penalty after Marc Bola's shirt was pulled in the box and Imran Louza steps up.

His spot-kick smashes on the underside of the crossbar and Edo Kayembe then strikes the ball into the net but his effort is disallowed for encroachment.

Sheffield Wednesday hold onto their lead!

Zeidane Inoussa almost has an instant impact for Swansea as he shoots with a low and driven effort that is fairly comfortably saved by Nicolas Schmid.
