Unbelievable error from the Norwich keeper, again he is guilty of trying to save for the cameras and misses a simple palm out to the defender. Such a waste

Coventry's draw means a win for Middlesbrough at Bristol City will cut the Sky Blues' lead to three points going into Christmas.

Preston's draw and Millwall's defeat means there's a chance both could be out of the top six by five o'clock.

Coventry are going into Christmas sitting on top of the Christmas tree.

The Sky Blues got the job done and what a magnificent point this is at St Mary's on the road.

There is a bit of afters involving players from both sides, they are confronting each other.

It has ended a bit bad tempered here but that is a Southampton issue as the Sky Blues have got nothing to be bad tempered about.

There are big smiles in the away end.

Full-time and the spoils are shared at Deepdale!

Norwich City will be kicking themselves.

They took the lead with five minutes of normal time remaining when Jovon Makama fired home a fantastic goal, in what looked like the winner.

The Canaries were denied all three points when Preston substitute Will Keane headed home after Norwich were, unforgivably, caught on the over load by their hosts in the last minute of additional time.

Preston remain third while Norwich miss out on the chance of climbing out of the relegation zone, as they stay second-bottom.

    FT: Southampton 1-1 Coventry

The Coventry boss Frank Lampard punched the air as the final whistle went.

He has now got himself involved in some pushing and shoving and we have a bit of a melee involving players from both sides.

It is eventually brought under control.

    Happy Christmas everyone!

Preston have stolen a point in the final minute of additional time!

The ball is floated in from the left hand side and the two substitutes combine.

Bradley Potts heads the ball into the path of Will Keane who heads the ball across goal into the far corner to grab a late leveller for North End!

The 10 men of Coventry hold on with some dogged defending and some more excellent goalkeeping from Carl Rushworth.

Ephron Mason-Clark had headed the Sky Blues into a half-time lead but Jay DaSilva's sending-off just two minutes into the second period completely changed the complexion of the game.

Nathan Wood duly headed a leveller before Rushworth denied Finn Azaz, Adam Armstrong and Ryan Manning.

Coventry move six points clear at the top and it's over to Middlesbrough.

Southampton may rue not making the most of their one-man advantage.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:27 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-1 Norwich

Norwich defender Kellen Fisher lunges in from behind before the ball is played through to Preston defender Odeluga Offiah who has a great chance on goal.

However, despite Preston having an opportunity to equalise, the referee blows his whistle to book Fisher before Offiah can get his shot on and the resulting free-kick comes to nothing.

    Frustration for the home supporters.

A first win in six games for Blackburn and a much deserved win, that was never in doubt really from the moment Andri Gudjohnsen scored inside three minutes.

Yuki Ohashi was gifted a second on the stroke of half-time and they saw it out with a degree of comfort after the break.

It is consecutive defeats for Millwall for the first time under Alex Neil and it is a game they will want to forget very, very quickly.

They stay fourth for now but could be out of the top six by close of play today.

Norwich have got something to defend now.

We said earlier it might take a set-piece or a moment of magic, and that was a moment of brilliance from Jovon Makama.

It might have been worth the early start for the Norwich fans if they can leave Deepdale with three points.
