Cambridge's draw with Swindon Town last night means Notts County have to respond if they are to regain their place in the top three, but their opponent has plenty to play for themselves.

A win for Salford would put them on level pegging with third placed Cambridge and the Ammies won't be phased by County's own promotion ambitions after winning second placed MK Dons last time out.

In fact, the side are brimming with their own lofty expectations for the remainder of their season.

"We are coming for three points," Ammies on-loan goalkeeper Matty Young told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We are coming to win and I think that kind of confidence/arrogance is what you need as a team.

"It's in our hands to what we need to do [to get automatic promotion]. We've got six games left, six wins will definitely take us up.

  2. Barrow seeking another top table shockpublished at 14:41 BST 3 April

MK Dons v Barrow (15:00 BST)

Already, interim player-manger Sam Foley has got relegation-threatened Barrow's fans smiling - a rarity this season - after defeating league leaders Bromley in a shock upset last time out.

The Bluebirds are on manager number five (yes, you read that right) and while the midfielder wasn't able to take them out of the bottom two, he did take them off the bottom to instil some hope for survival that seemed all but lost.

Foley will also be able to draw from the wisdom of Graham Coughlan, the former Newport County and Boston United boss who arrived this week in an advisory role to help save the side from non-league football.

But next up is another tough customer, MK Dons. Though the second place holders are seeming vulnerable after two straight losses and the visitors have shown that they know how to slay a giant to keep alive.

  3. Bromley hoping to bounce back after "one-off" losspublished at 14:39 BST 3 April

    Barnet v Bromley (15:00 BST)

The Ravens boss talks to BBC London's Jamie Reid ahead of the trip to Barnet.

Barnet are knocking at the door of the play-offs and while a game against the league leaders may seem like a tricky challenge, they may be welcoming Bromley at just the right time.

The Ravens lost for the first time since November last time out and to the then-basement team Barrow no less.

Bromley boss Andy Woodman is hopeful the defeat to Barrow a "one-off" but will have to put his words into action this afternoon against a Barnet side confident after two straight victories.

Despite a five point cushion at the top for the league leaders, this a game that could prove costly for either side in their respective promotion pushes. Greater leads have slipped at the final hurdles.

    Pressure. On.

  6. 'Football can bring you down to Earth'published at 14:32 BST 3 April

    FT: Doncaster 0-2 Mansfield

    Lee Turnbull
Former Doncaster midfielder on BBC Radio Sheffield

We were all getting carried away today, unfortunately football can bring you back down to Earth.

Mansfield managed the game well, in and out of possession.

It's a long hard season, Rovers have got to 50 points and maybe that's enough.

  7. 'More confidence in the second half'published at 14:29 BST 3 April

    FT: Doncaster 0-2 Mansfield

    Jon D'Laryea
Former Mansfield Town midfielder on BBC Radio Nottingham

We saw a poor performance in the first half, but second half that changed.

There was so much more quality, especially in the second goal that is probably Mansfield's best I've seen this season.

They played with so much more confidence in that second period.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:26 BST 3 April

We had to wait until the 50th minute for a shot on target and that was Mansfield's Rhys Oates deflecting in a Frazer Blake-Tracy shot to open the scoring.

Jon Russell then superbly chipped Doncaster goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala for a second with 20 minutes remaining.

Luke Molyneux hit the outside of a post in the first period but Rovers failed to produce a single shot on target.

Mansfield hit the magic 50-point mark and although Doncaster's five-game unbeaten run is over, these two should both survive another year in League One.

Without stating the obvious, the two goals have had a massive impact on this game.

The Rovers fans are quiet, it's the away support who are bouncing up and down.

Mansfield were lucky with the deflected goal, but they have built on it and look comfortable.

That was absolutely brilliant by Mansfield, counter-attacking football at its best.

He's produced such a delicate little chip, they deserve it from that excellent move.
