  10. Carrots dangling at Fir Park...published at 19:56 GMT 30 December 2025

    Motherwell v Celtic (20:00)

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou tells BBC Scotland: "There is a carrot dangling for both teams tonight.

"I think it will be a great game of football, dynamic, intense and high-tempo at times.

"I hope our performance will live up to all our performances in the big games so far this season as this will give us a chance to win.

"We are trying to create a style that doesn't swing from one side to another, consistency gives us the best platform to improve from.

"We still have a little bit more to learn to win the big games, and we will see in the next few games if we can get a few more wins than we have."

  19. Buddies the bogey team for Rangers?published at 19:43 GMT 30 December 2025

    Rangers v St Mirren (19.45)

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Ibrox

It used very much to be the other way around, but lately Rangers haven't been able to buy a win over St Mirren.

You have to go back over a year for the last one - October 2024 with a winner from Vaclav Cerny for a 2-1 victory.

Since which time, two draws and two St Mirren wins, including the last time these two met here at Ibrox at the end of February.

What chance a famous repeat, given the Buddies' recent record against Glasgow's big two...?

If Celtic win 0-5 to go top, I’ll swim across the Clyde in the scud on New Year’s Day. Motherwell to win 3-2 against the leakiest defence in the country.
