The Championship play-off picture remains as clear as mud going into the final 90 minutes of the season.

Southampton are the only side who know they will definitely be in the play-offs, but could yet finish third, fourth or fifth, depending on their result at Preston North End and those of the teams above them.

Two of Ipswich, Millwall and Middlesbrough will join Saints in the post-season scramble while the other place will be fiercely contested this afternoon.

Wrexham are, on paper at least, in the driving seat, currently sitting sixth, above Hull City by virtue of a goal difference of +1.

They welcome Middlesbrough to Wales in a game with everything at stake for both sides.

Even if the Red Dragons win, that might not necessarily be enough. If the Tigers overcome Norwich at the MKM Stadium by even a one-goal wider margin of victory than Wrexham, then Hull would leapfrog Wrexham by virtue of scoring more goals.

But it is not a two-horse race. Derby County are coming up on the rail a point behind and would take sixth place with victory over Sheffield United at Pride Park, should both Wrexham and Hull City drop points.

Were both Wrexham and Hull City to lose, even a point against the Blades would be enough for the Rams to make the play-offs, given their own superior goal difference.

All clear? Good. Let the chaos commence...

Full focus will understandably be on the five Championship games with the last automatic promotion and play-off spots at stake.

But we've also got seven other encounters between 14 sides playing for pride and, for some, a slightly better league position.

Premier League-bound champions Coventry will be having a party in Watford, where Hornets boss Ed Still is under mounting pressure.

Sky Blues manager Frank Lampard has been linked with several Premier League clubs off the back of this season's success. His side would reach 95 points with a win today - enough to win the Championship title in every season since 2004, bar the past two.

Southampton will already be getting set for their play-off semi-final but while they wait to find out their opponents, they take on Preston at Deepdale.

Blackburn host already-relegated Leicester, who are preparing for life in the third tier for just the second time in their history.

Roy Hodgson will be taking charge of what is likely to be his final game as interim boss of Bristol City as they welcome Stoke.

Portsmouth can relax in the knowledge they are safe as Birmingham visit Fratton Park, as can West Bromwich Albion, who travel to Sheffield Wednesday.

And in south Wales, Swansea take on Charlton Athletic, who stayed up in their first season back in the second tier since 2020.

Ipswich are in the box seat for the second automatic promotion spot behind champions Coventry, but Millwall and Middlesbrough are waiting to pounce on any slip-ups from the Tractor Boys.

At least two of those sides, plus Southampton, will contest the play-offs, but who they will face in the semi-final is also unknown.

Wrexham, Hull City and Derby are in an even tighter battle for sixth spot and a potential route to the Premier League, via Wembley on 23 May.

Get yourself settled and we'll tell you all you need to know ahead of what should be a thrilling final day of action, with all 12 fixtures played concurrently at 12:30 BST.
