  1. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 15:57 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 233-6

With that wicket, tea will now be taken at Chester-le-Street.

Durham have dragged themselves into this one in the final 20 minutes of the second session.

Ben Raine was the man to do it - trapping Matty Hurst on the pads LBW for 32 before tempting Arav Shetty into a big drive which brought an edge and was taken by Ollie Robinson's diving catch.

Paul Coughlin is expected to head to the crease after the interval for Lancashire and will be joined by Marcus Harris who has played well for his 78 not out.

  2. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:56 BST 24 April

    Worcestershire v Kent 159-9

That could have wrapped it up!

Adam Hose has dropped three today in the slips and down goes another there.

It feels like a matter of time before the innings ends but Worcs can't afford too many more slip ups.

    Shetty c O Robinson b Raine 18 (Durham v Lancashire 233-6)

Edged and taken this time behind the stumps!

Arav Shetty has to go right on the stroke of tea.

A good diving catch from Ollie Robinson - who had dropped Shetty previously in the innings.

Durham end a difficult second session perfectly.

  4. Entertaining day so far in the CLS sunpublished at 15:54 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 233-5

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It's been an interesting day here in Chester-le-Street.

Lancashire got off to a speedy start, having been put in by Durham. But every time it looked like they were going to build a big innings, the bowlers fought back.

Marcus Harris has been key to what they have achieved so far. He's on 78 and put on 58 for the third wicket with Keaton Jennings - and 61 for the fifth with Matty Hurst.

Jennings lived a charmed life at times. He had a couple of big inside edges early in his innings and was then dropped twice in the slips, on 26, before dragging a ball from Kasey Aldridge onto his stumps when on 44.

Lancashire were 118-3 at lunch and as we approach tea they are edging towards their first batting point. Hurst recently fell LBW to Ben Raine for 32.

    Parkinson c Roderick b Taylor 0 (Worcestershire v Kent 159-9)

One more to go for the Pears at a sunny New Road.

Tom Taylor is a difficult bowler for a top order batter to handle so those lower down the order are always likely to struggle and that's what has happened to Matt Parkinson who departs without scoring to leave Kent on the brink.

Can they add some late runs to push that total up a little higher?

  6. 200 up for Sussexpublished at 15:48 BST 24 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 211-5

Tom Price and John Simpson's partnership is over 60 and they are doing a cracking job for their side who were struggling a little at 150-5 not too long ago.

Price hit what I think is our first six of the contest a short time ago - off Jhye Richardson who has been given some treatment by the Sussex batters today.

He is 0-74 from 11 overs.

  7. 200 runs

up for Essexpublished at 15:44 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 202-2

    Charlie AllisonImage source, Getty Images

Charlie Allison leg glances Tom Lawes for four - the first scoring shot of his innings - as Essex reach 200 at the Oval.

Allison hit his maiden hundred on this ground in May 2025 so he'll be hoping history will repeat itself this weekend.

Having dominated the morning, it has been a lot tougher for the visitors this afternoon and Surrey would love to eke out another wicket before tea after removing Dean Elgar and Tom Westley.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:44 BST 24 April

Carlson (run out Weatherald) 95 (Glamorgan 217-5 v Leicestershire)

Heartbreak for Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson - he is run out just five runs short of his century!

Carlson flicks the ball towards backward short leg where Jake Weatherald was poised.

The Australian's underarm throw is gathered by Ben Cox who takes the bails off and, despite a despairing dive, Carlson can't make up the ground in time.

He can't believe what he has done as a century beckoned.

  9. 200 runs

200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 15:42 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 209-6

Warwickshire have reached 200 just before tea. Ed Barnard (70*) and Chris Woakes (17*), who a moment ago played a lovely on-field drive, have put on 30 together.

  10. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:41 BST 24 April

    Durham v Lancashire 214-5

Oh, did Arav Shetty get a nick on this?

Judging by the Durham fielders' reaction, it looks like he has.

Shetty gloves one down the leg side and there is a juggling act from Durham wicket-keeper Ollie Robinson who puts the ball down at the third time of asking.

    That really should have stuck.

The following delivery goes past Robinson behind the stumps and goes down as four byes.

Four overs left before the tea break.

  11. wicket

    Boorman c and b Andersson 4 (Derbys v Glos 142-5)

Another one gone and Derbyshire now on top.

Tommy Boorman, in only his second first-class match, gets a leading edge and Martin Andersson dives to his left to take the return catch.

Miles Hammond is 58 not out as he is joined by Graeme van Buuren.

  12. Postpublished at 15:39 BST 24 April

    Surrey v Essex 198-2

Paul Walter has looked a little ill at ease since his big partnership with Dean Elgar came to an end on 183.

He edges Gus Atkinson but the ball doesn't carry to the slips and runs away for four streaky runs.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:39 BST 24 April

Dudgeon lbw Swanepoel 38 (Worcestershire v Kent 149-8)

It seems strange to say it considering how Kent have struggled today but that's quite an important wicket for the Pears before tea.

Kent were counter-attacking with some momentum and the partnership between Keith Dudgeon and Matt Milnes reached 50 before the former was pinned lbw by Beyers Swanepoel.

A third wicket on debut for the South African shorty before the interval will give the hosts a boost that's for sure.

  14. Postpublished at 15:37 BST 24 April

Great shot to get off the mark.

Arav Shetty uses his feet nicely and drives through the covers for four.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:32 BST 24 April

    Westley b Lawes 1 (Surrey v Essex 194-2)

He never really looked comfortable and now the Essex captain has gone. Tom Westley tries to pull a ball from Tom Lawes from outside off-stump and under-edges into his stumps.

Charlie Allison comes out to join Paul Walter, who has 83.

  16. 'Anything under 300 looks below par'published at 15:31 BST 24 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 188-5

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Yorkshire haven't been at their best with the ball today with the notable exceptions of Jack White and George Hill who have both taken two wickets.

But on a lightning fast outfield and with a short boundary opposite the Western terrace, they'll be the happier of the two sides.

Both Tom Haines, who looked dissapointed with his lbw decision, and James Coles who played an indifferent shot to be caught in the slips, had looked in excellent touch, and will both feel they've left runs out in the middle having done much of the hard work.

John Simpson who is looking for his first significant score of the season and Tom Price are gradually rebuilding for Sussex, but anything under 300 looks below par on what appears a good pitch

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:31 BST 24 April

    Hurst lbw b Raine 32 (Durham v Lancashire 205-5)

    Boy did Durham need this!

Full and straight does the trick here for Ben Raine.

He traps Matty Hurst bang in front - this looks like it would have been hitting middle stump. Lancashire's fifth-wicket partnership worth 61 comes to an end 10 minutes before tea.

Arav Shetty walks to the crease for the Red Rose.

  18. 200 runs

200 up for Glamorganpublished at 15:30 BST 24 April

    Glamorgan 202-4 v Leicestershire

Josh Hull's short delivery is pulled away hard through square leg for four by Kiran Carlson.

That brings up Glamorgan's 200. Their fifth-wicket partnership between Carlson and Sean Dickson is now worth 111 runs.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:28 BST 24 April

    Bracey b Bashir 15 (Derbys v Glos 135-4)

    Shoaib BashirImage source, Getty Images

Great delivery from Shoaib Bashir, which turns just enough to beat the edge and flick the outside of off stump.

James Bracey didn't really get fully forward to that one, which may have been his undoing.

  20. Postpublished at 15:26 BST 24 April

    Notts v Warwickshire 190-6

Lyndon James has just bowled a beauty which beats Chris Woakes all ends up. Woakes' reaction suggests he would not have minded putting his name to that delivery.

Renowned for his international bowling qualities Woakes has, however, just reminded everyone of his skill with bat in hand with a classy cut for four off James, in the same over.
