  1. 'A very good catch from Ben Cox'published at 12:46 BST 1 May

    Leics v Notts 97-1

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It was a really good catch by Ben Cox. He caught it about a millimetre of where the worms reside.

It was almost touching the grass. It was a very low edge which he had to dive full-length for.

It wouldn't have carried to first slip and Haseeb Hameed has gone.

  2. Wicket... no ball!published at 12:45 BST 1 May

    Hants v Glam 79-0

Scott Currie thinks he has the breakthrough but the umpire's arm is up as Toby Albert takes the catch off the bat of Zain-ul-Hassan at second slip.

How Hants needed that but instead the bowler scratches accusingly at the crease where his foot has overstepped.

    Tear b Fisher 0 (Surrey v Sussex 84-6)

It goes from bad to worse for Sussex.

Charlie Tear is bowled without scoring and they are 21-5 in the past eight overs and have lost six wickets in this morning session.

We still have more just under 20 minutes of play left until lunch too.

  4. 'Bean had to play at it'published at 12:42 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 70-3

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Fin Bean had to play at it, it's pitched off stump and if it had carried on it's line it would have probably hit middle and off. Instead of which it veered away off the seam, took the outside edge and it was near to an unplayable delivery as you're likely to get.

That's a bowling point for Somerset which means they go level with Warwickshire at the top of the Division One County Championship table.

Leicestershire celebrate the wicket of Haseeb Hameed

Superb grab low to his right by Ben Cox after Haseeb Hameed edges Ben Green behind.

Cox had to react smartly throwing a glove down to the turf and picking it as it died on him.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:37 BST 1 May

    Bean c J Rew b Pretorius 35 (Somerset v Yorkshire 70-3)

Fin Bean goes for 35 as Migael Pretorius grabs his first wicket via a second catch of the game for wicketkeeper James Rew.

That brings Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow together in the middle.

What can this class duo cook up for Yorkshire before lunch?

  7. 50 runs

for Slaterpublished at 12:36 BST 1 May

    Leics v Notts 92-0

Ben Slater takes a single off Josh Davey to reach a third half-century of the season and a 53rd fifty of his first class career.

It has taken 68 deliveries and has contained eight fours.

  8. 'Ball of the day from Clark'published at 12:34 BST 1 May

    Surrey v Sussex 83-5

    Cameron Steel
Former Surrey leg-spin allrounder on BBC Radio London

That was a the ball of the day from Jordan Clark. It was a gorgeous ball, swinging in, nipping away from top of off stump and just nicked behind to the save hands of Jamie Smith.

Jordan Clark is making big inroads into this Sussex side.

  9. 'Sussex are in real trouble'published at 12:32 BST 1 May

    Surrey v Sussex 83-5

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

This is some spell of bowling from Jordan Clark!

Sussex are in real trouble here.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:29 BST 1 May

    Simpson c Smith b Clark 0 (Surrey v Sussex 83-5)

Four for Jordan Clark - I can barely keep up!

John Simpson is known as a safe pair of hands for Sussex and has struck regular high scores since arriving at the club - with a century in his last game no less - but he goes for a two-ball duck here.

Clark is absolutely on fire - a nightmare to face for the batters, he has been relentless with every ball.

His figures are an outstanding 4-9 from four overs - wow!

  11. wicket

Make that three wickets for Jordan Clark!

This has rapidly turned into Surrey's morning session.

Clark has 3-9 from his 3.4 overs.

From 63-2 Sussex are now 83-4.

Get Involvedpublished at 12:27 BST 1 May

    Surrey v Sussex 77-3

Re Bob at 12:01 - given all the games at The Oval have been destined for a draw from a long way out I'm not surprised they're going to try something different to try and get a result!

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 BST 1 May

    Clark c Fisher b Clark 44 (Surrey v Sussex 76-3)

    Clark gets Clark!

Tom Clark falls six short of a half-century with 44 from 68 as his namesake Jordan Clark grabs his second of the innings.

  14. 'Glamorgan players will be happy'published at 12:21 BST 1 May

    Hants v Glam 61-0

    Rob Phillips
    BBC Radio Wales commentator

It's been steady progress but the Glamorgan players watching from the dressing room will be very happy with the way things are going.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:19 BST 1 May

    Crawley b Andersson 44 (Kent 72-2 v Derbyshire)

    He'll be hugely disappointed.

Zak Crawley had done all the hard work to get to 44, his highest score of the season, before he's bowled by Martin Andersson. He played all around a straight one.

The England opener is yet to reach fifty in seven innings this season, and you have to feel his Test place is under serious pressure.

  16. Durham keeping it tight at Lord'spublished at 12:18 BST 1 May

    Middlesex 45-1 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The Durham bowlers are putting a lot of pressure on the Middlesex batsmen in this first session.

The hosts opted to bat under cloudless skies in St John's Wood. There's a really short boundary to the Grandstand side of the ground too.

But the runs have not realy flowed freely. Sam Robson has made his way to 30, but it's not been easy. Max Holden has five.

Robson should have been out on six, when he edged Kemar Roach to the keeper. It was a straightforward chance but dropped by Ollie Robinson.

Matty Potts then thought he had Robson lbw in the next over, but he was given the benefit of the doubt by the umpire. It was a very good delivery but possibly just a tad outside the line of off-stump.

The one wicket to fall came from Ben Raine's fourth delivery of the day, when Josh De Caires edged behind on eight.

It's Durham's first Championship visit to Lord's since 2022. In 14 previous visits they have won onnly three times.

  17. Postpublished at 12:16 BST 1 May

    Hants v Glam 52-0

Not for the first time Codi Yusuf has drifted too far to leg and Zain-ul-Hassan pounces to clip a boundary which brings up the Glamorgan half century.

It has taken exactly 100 balls and confirms a decent start for the visitors.

  18. Division Two latestpublished at 12:14 BST 1 May

BBC Hereford & Worcester's Frank Watson says it's a good pitch, but Worcestershire are making a bit of a meal of things at Northants. They've just slipped to 52-4 with Ben Sanderson dismissing Brett D'Oliveira for one.

Zak Crawley is getting into his stride - he's up to 43 with Kent 67-1 against Derbyshire.

Middlesex opener Josh de Caires fell for a scratchy eight against Durham, but Sam Robson is going along nicely on 30. The hosts are 45-1 at Lord's.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:12 BST 1 May

Hughes lbw Clark 22 (Surrey v Sussex 64-2)

Both Sussex openers are gone as Surrey's Jordan Clark breaks up what was a growing partnership.

Daniel Hughes survived an early lbw shout but this time he has to walk as the umpire gives the signal

Hughes and Tom Clark - who is unbeaten on 44 - took Sussex from 0-1 to 63-2.

James Coles is the new man in.

  20. 'The wicket Lewis Gregory deserved'published at 12:11 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 59-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The most relieved cricketer out there will be Craig Overton [for dropping James Wharton the previous ball].

It was a good catch by James Rew, I thought it was going to go to Tom Abell but James Rew was obviously concerned that it wouldn't carry through to first slip.

He dived down away to his right, took it very, very well in his fingertips a long way away, almost in front of second slip.

That's the wicket Lewis Gregory deserved.
