To Jack in Burton, I don't think Duckett at three is an issue. They could always pick Hameed to open with him!

    Nick - Shrewsbury

  2. Division Two latestpublished at 15:10 BST 1 May

Durham have taken three quick wickets at Lord's with Middlesex falling from 136-1 to 143-4. Matthew Potts got the big one of Sam Robson for 87 before Ben Raine dismissed Leus du Plooy and Ben Geddes in the same over.

Gareth Roderick is fighting for Worcestershire who are now 178-7 at Northants. The Pears keeper is unbeaten on 75.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has raced to 67 for Kent against Derbyshire. The hosts are 197-5 at Canterbury.

  3. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 1 May

    Somerset 0-0 v Yorkshire 162

I doubt Archie Vaughan and Josh Thomas expected to have their pads on to open the batting at shortly after 3pm but here we are.

Jhye Richardson is bowling for Yorkshire who will hope some of the magic bowling Somerset conjured up will rub off on them.

  4. 200 up for Sussexpublished at 14:59 BST 1 May

    Surrey v Sussex 210-8

If you would have offered Sussex 210-8 when they were on 92-7 earlier on they would have bitten your hand off.

It looked like they might struggle to get to 100 at that point.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice's aggressive half-century changed the momentum though and Jack Carson is approaching a half-century too.

Ollie Robinson at the other end on 21.

  5. 200 up for Nottspublished at 14:57 BST 1 May

    Leics v Notts 213-1

Ben Slater is within one hit of a hundred but Ben Duckett is fast catching him as Notts get past 200.

Ajaz Patel has been swept three times in three balls by Duckett who goes to 67. His attempted reverse sweep is stopped costing just one.

If Patel cannot hold down an end it creates a problem for Leics and it looks like Duckett is intent on hitting him out of the attack.

    Leics v Notts 213-1 (Duckett 67*)

Duckett in the runs but is it not a concern that he isn’t opening the batting? First Test rolls around and we’re likely to have someone unproven alongside someone who hasn’t opened so far this season.

  7. 'A dismal effort by Yorkshire'published at 14:56 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 162

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

I would say, light or not, that is a dismal, dismal effort by Yorkshire to lose seven wickets between lunch.

  8. YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 162published at 14:53 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 162

That's it for Yorkshire's first innings - George Hill the last man out for 18 as he is caught by Tom Lammonby off Craig Overton.

Just a reminder that a short time ago at lunch Yorkshire were 115-3 with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow at the crease.

When Bairstow departed it prompted an astonishing collapse with the last six wickets going for 22 runs.

    Incredible really.

Lewis Gregory enjoyed causing the carnage with 6-43.

  9. 50 runs

for Carlsonpublished at 14:50 BST 1 May

    Hants v Glam 162-1

Kiran Carlson brings up his half century with a single off Felix Organ. It has come in 52 balls and, in amongst its total, contained eight fours and one six.

  10. Postpublished at 14:48 BST 1 May

    Leics v Notts 198-1

Hundred partnership for the Bens, Duckett and Slater, with the latter nudging a single off Ajaz Patel.

  11. 'Yorkshire are on the brink'published at 14:48 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 146-9

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

The leg stump is knocked back and Yorkshire are on the brink of being wrapped up in very, very quick time this afternoon.

  12. Postpublished at 14:47 BST 1 May

    Hants v Glam 157-1

Kiran Carlson gets a life on 39 as he flashes Kyle Abbott through between first and second slip.

It looks like Nick Gubbins was closest to getting tips to it but it would have probably only put it over the bar rather than stuck.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:40 BST 1 May

    Richardson b Gregory 1 (Somerset v Yorkshire 146-9)

    Bowled him!

    Yorkshire are nine down.

Wonderful accuracy from Somerset captain Lewis Gregory for his sixth wicket as he cleans up Jhye Richardson who is left playing at thin air as the ball smashes into the stumps.

Gregory has 6-36 and Yorkshire's innings is almost over.

  14. 50 runs

for Duckettpublished at 14:37 BST 1 May

    Leics v Notts 193-1

Effortless and classy from Ben Duckett who stands tall in his crease (or as tall as Ben Duckett can) and strokes an elegant on drive back past the bowler for four.

It has taken him just 52 balls and has contained seven fours.

  15. 'Yorkshire are in deep trouble'published at 14:35 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 143-8

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

I don't think they'll be dancing too much apart from dancing around at the crease.

Logan van Beek with an awkward little movement, sort of punched his bat out at that as it was going by, it was no danger to him really and he's played at ball that he didn't need to.

    Yorkshire are in deep trouble.

  16. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:31 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 143-8

    Yorkshire should be nine down!

George Hill is dropped by Tom Abell at first slip to deny Lewis Gregory a sixth wicket.

Somerset have put down three in the slips today - two by Craig Overton and that one by Abell.

Yorkshire's innings won't last too much longer at this rate.

  17. 'Fisher deserved that'published at 14:31 BST 1 May

    Surrey v Sussex 167-8

    Cameron Steel
Former Surrey leg-spin allrounder on BBC Radio London

Dom Sibley did really well. It was right next to the pigeons as well which can be quite tough when it's sort of circling and flying away.

It was circling under it and it was almost a diving catch behind him and you'd feel as though Matt Fisher deserved that for his good work.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has maybe changed the complexion of the game a little bit.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:29 BST 1 May

    Van Beek c Vaughan b Gregory 0 (Somerset v Yorkshire 142-8)

Make that 142-8 - what a collapse from Yorkshire.

Three wickets in the over for Lewis Gregory who has five in the innings now - in double quick time.

The visitors have lost four wickets for two runs in 10 balls.

Yorkshire were looking pretty good at 115-3 at lunch - things have changed somewhat since then.

  19. Roach leaves the field for Durhampublished at 14:27 BST 1 May

    Middlesex 117-1 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Kemar Roach missed last week's match against Lancashire because of a tight groin. After bowling 9.1 overs today he's taken his cap from the umpire and walked off.

He appeared to be holding his groin again. Colin Ackermann has come on as a 12th man.

Is the curse of the Durham overseas bowler striking again? They have no luck with overseas signings in recent years, with many heading home earlier than planned. And at least two I can think of in the last two years or so who didn't finish a full game.

Without Roach Durham have an issue. This looks like a really good batting track and they will struggle to take 10 wickets on it, never mind 20. No doubt discussions will be taking place over a substitution.

  20. 'Terrific delivery by Gregory'published at 14:27 BST 1 May

    Somerset v Yorkshire 140-7

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was a terrific delivery again from Lewis Gregory, some late swing deceiving Matthew Revis.

Instead of nipping away, it nipped back and clipped the off stump.
