    Durham 152-7 v Lancs 370

Paul Coughlin, latterly of this parish in Durham, is on for Lancs as they seek the final three wickets. Ben Raine drives his first ball down the ground for two to move on to 20.

He gives him a short one and a smile before Raine reaches for a flat batted drive for four through point.

    Came lbw Bell 8 (Derbyshire 8-1 v Gloucestershire 498)

But before Caleb Jewell gets to face, Harry Came has to go lbw from the final ball of the first over.

He had just hit a lovely second four to the cover boundary from a wide one, but this is full and straight.

Wayne Madsen is back in the side to probably bat at four, Matt Montgomery, who took that incredible catch on day one and bowled a lot of overs today, in at three having had little feet up rest time!

    Derbyshire 4-0 v Gloucestershire 497-9

Having not been trusted to face even one ball by his seam-bowling colleague Will Williams, Gabe Bell can now take out his frustration on the Derbyshire openers.

Harry Came gets four off his second ball.

A man who knows Gabe Bell better than anyone else in this game, Caleb Jewell who has scored plenty of runs for Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmania over the years, is still leaning on his bat waiting to face.

    Surrey 69-2 v Essex 409

Well wide of off stump from Noah Thain, Ollie Pope flashes at it and a thick edge flies down to third man for four.

Not a great shot from the England batter - but he moves on to 31 not out.

    Surrey 59-2 v Essex 409

Dan Lawrence made a dramatic intervention in the Essex first innings - what can Simon Harmer do as the visitors turn to spin for the first time?

Glorious stroke by Ollie Pope, who waits for one floated up outside off stump and drives it into a big gap at cover and away for four.

Williams run out 98 (Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 498)

What are you doing Will Williams!!??

    The panic is real.

He runs down, hacks, edges for one to deep point, a comfortable throw to the keeper and he is gone stupidly coming back for two.

Trust Gabe Bell and get your hundred a later over surely?!

Mason Crane, Henry Brookes and Will Williams have all batted brilliantly today until they got near to that scary landmark of 100 and in two cases had just their Aussie overseas seamer with them for company.

    Extraordinary cricket.

Still a great total for Glos, but another unsatisfactory end for the batting side, very similar to Crane for Glamorgan, he just found a more daft way to get out shy of 100.

  7. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 15:10 BST 25 April

Surrey are 80-2 in the 12th over, chasing a target of 338 to beat Somerset at Taunton - Alice Capsey is 29 not out.

Yorkshire were boosted by an early wicket as they look to defend 241 all out against Lancashire, but the Red Rose are now 50-1 in the 13th over.

The Blaze are still struggling on 96-5 as they look to score 214 to beat Essex - Georgia Elwiss is 30 not out.

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 497-9

The panic that being in the 90s causes a tailender, particularly with an even later tailender keeping them company makes frankly hilarious viewing.

With nine fielders understandably on the boundary, Will Williams attempts a Dilshan scoop and gets clonked on the head.

A nervous 90s concussion test now then!

    The drama!!

  9. Red Rose a thorn in the Durham sidepublished at 15:08 BST 25 April

    Durham 137-7 v Lancs 370

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham are being completely outplayed by Lancashire and face following-on in the not too distant future, unless someone can get a partnership on the board.

Ollie Robinson has just gone lbw to Mitchell Stanley for 32. It's the fourth wicket to fall since lunch.

They need to make 221 to avoid the follow-on and I can't see that happening. Stanley had taken 2-35 and Tom Bailey 2-29. He was on a hat-trick earlier after he had Emlio Gay and Kasey Aldridge caught at first slip in consecutive balls.

Gay chased a wide one and departed on 41. It was a rash shot at a time when he'd been playing nicely. Ben Raine saw off the hat-trick ball.

Whether Lancashire enforce the follow-on remains to be seen. This is their fourth game of the season and they have lost Arav Shetty to a hand injury.

We haven't seen anything of Paul Coughlin with ball in hand today either. He's fielding but has not been asked to have a dart. Equally he's not needed at the moment.

Will Williams plinks one short of deep midwicket, onto 97*.

Gabe Bell with two Zak Chappell deliveries to keep out..

    The Tasmanian does so.

Williams on-strike 98* with Shoaib Bashir into his 31st over then.

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 496-9

    Henry Brookes perished on 89.

    Mason Crane on 99.

Can Will Williams end the curse of the 'tailenders for counties beginning with Gs trying to score their maiden century on 25th April 2026, Day 2 of the County Championship!?'

    Brookes c Guest b Bashir 89 (Derby v Glos 492-9)

Two shy of the county all-time record for the ninth wicket and only 11 shy of a much deserved hundred.

Henry Brookes is fuming, did he need to keep going so hard, probably not, but the team man in him trying to accelerate to have a bowl at Derby before tea maybe?

I think most Glosters would be happy for them to just bat and bat and bat having not even earnt a draw so far this season.

Shoaib Bashir gets a bonus wicket, top edged straight up for an easy catch, though they are never quite so easy with a helmet on and into the sun, good catch then Brooke Guest.

    Gabe Bell is number 11.

    Surrey 50-2 v Essex 409

Shane Snater is too full and Dom Sibley times it well back past the bowler and away for four runs. Surrey reach 50 in the 22nd over - an indication of how well Essex are bowling.

    Glam 440 v Leic 2-0

Jake Weatherald, with his famous crabby stance, always seems to be an lbw candidate with his head falling over to the offside.

Ryan Hadley almost has his fellow Aussie second ball, would have hit, but just pitched outside leg.

    Lyth c Clark b Hudson-Prentice 6 (Yorkshire 22-1 v Sussex 502)

Sussex's opening bowlers have kept things very tight early on and now they have a wicket to boot.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice comes around the wicket to the left-hander Adam Lyth and tempts him into a drive and the experienced Yorkshire man nicks it behind to Tom Clark at second slip.

    Robinson lbw b Stanley 32 (Durham 124-7 v Lancs 370)

Mitch Stanley has his second and Durham are in big bother now.

It is angling in a touch and hits with Ollie Robinson on his toes but not high enough to stop it hitting a few inches below the bails had his pad not intervened.

Durham still trail by 246 and with Lancs have been out there less than 40 overs the follow on would be worth enforcing.

  17. Postpublished at 14:55 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 491-8

Will Williams is really enjoying himself now onto 91* off just 128 balls.

He has consecutive fours off Zak Chappell even with multiple men back, the latest an emphatic pull shot for four.

  18. Leics' first innings underway at Cardiffpublished at 14:53 BST 25 April

    Glam 440 v Leic 1-0

Timm van der Gugten opened up with an over going for just a Rishi Patel single off the final ball, meaning Jake Weatherald will still not get to take strike as his countryman (though of New South Wales), Ryan Hadley bowls the second over.

    Notts 88-2 v Warks 459

Ben Duckett times a lovely straight drive as Jordan Thompson overpitches and he and Joe Clarke have notched their half century partnership.

It has come in 77 balls and taken 52 minutes. It was a slow burner but it is catching light nicely now.

  20. First-class best for Henry Brookespublished at 14:51 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 481-8

Zak Chappell is smashed down the ground first ball of his 24th over for four.

Henry Brookes nearly falls onto his wickets next ball from a Chappell bumper but gets away with it.

    Concussion test now due.
