    Surrey 141-3 v Essex 409

    Who likes a good stat?

The two wickets taken by Jamie Porter so far in this innings mean he now has 584 in first-class cricket.

That is just three short of the total number of runs he has scored in the same 154 matches.

  2. Postpublished at 17:35 BST 25 April

    Durham 244-9 v Lancs 370

Lancs captain Jimmy Anderson will be starting to gently fizz and not just because of the drop off his bowling in the previous over.

Matthew Potts is going well on 46 and the deficit is already down to 126 runs which starts to look a little more manageable.

There are 18 overs left in the day.

  3. First spin of the innings in Derbyshirepublished at 17:32 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire 103-2 v Gloucestershire 498

Not the leg-spin of Ed Middleton on his first 1s appearance of the season, but the left-arm spin of Graeme van Buuren who is driven to mid on for one first ball by Caleb Jewell.

  4. ouch!

Postpublished at 17:29 BST 25 April

    Yorkshire 151-1 v Sussex 502

We're back under way at Headingley after a short injury break to allow Sam Whiteman to get some treatment.

He seems to be fine and resumes on 56.

    About 15 overs remaining.

  5. dropped catch

Parkinson on 5published at 17:28 BST 25 April

    Durham 235-9 v Lancs 370

Michael Jones has moved to his left at first slip to grab off the edge of Callum Parkinson's bat but the ball has spilled.

There is a bit of a gap between Smith and Matty Hurst with the gloves and arguably the latter should have made an attempt.

The bowler Jimmy Anderson does not look hugely impressed as that would have been a wrap on the Durham innings.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:25 BST 25 April

    Patel c Byrom b Carlson 79 (Glam 440 v Leic 167-1)

Kiran Carlson himself is the partnership breaker.

Rishi Patel thinks he fancies a piece of the home captain's part-time spinners but top edges his slog sweep just past where the 30-yard circle might be, great catch from Eddie Byrom running backwards with the sun glaring into his eyes.

He hit 14 boundaries in that knock.

Ian Holland, a generally slower scoring batter, in at three with the run rate still at over five runs per over after 33 overs!

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:24 BST 25 April

    Pope c and b Porter 69 (Surrey 134-3 v Essex 409)

Big wicket for Essex as Ollie Pope drives a fraction early and gives a return catch to Jamie Porter.

He looks to the heavens momentarily and his demeanour, as he walks back to the Pavilion, is one of a man who feels he has not made the most of a good opportunity.

Pope put on 105 with Dom Sibley, who has now been joined by Dan Lawrence.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:22 BST 25 April

    Swanepoel b Cohen 6 (Worcestershire 377-8 v Kent 196)

Not the best way to lose your wicket on debut.

Beyers Swanepoel leaves his bat dangling to a fairly normal Mikey Cohen delivery and manages to drag the ball back onto his stumps.

I wonder what the Pears are thinking now in terms of how to play the closing stages of the day with a lead of 181 - they'll certainly want to get 400 and a fourth batting point as a first port of call.

  9. 100 runs

stand for Surreypublished at 17:18 BST 25 April

    Surrey 131-3 v Essex 409

Dom Sibley drives Noah Thain between cover and mid-off. Good fielding denies him a boundary but three runs bring up the century partnership with Ollie Pope.

  10. 150 up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:18 BST 25 April

    Yorkshire 150-1 v Sussex 502

Sam Whiteman reaches a half-century and Finlay Bean is on 79 as Yorkshire reach 150 in 42.4 overs.

As Adrian Harms mentioned at tea, this pitch is offering very little to the bowlers.

  11. Postpublished at 17:17 BST 25 April

    Durham 226-9 v Lancs 370

Matthew Potts ambles through for a comfortable two to move to 37. His high score is a whopping 149 not out against Warks in April 2024 but a half century would be welcome here.

  12. get involved

Get Involvedpublished at 17:13 BST 25 April

Lancs once again struggling to get 9, 10, jack out, they need to change the way they bowl at tailenders? This happens far to often!

  13. Postpublished at 17:12 BST 25 April

    Surrey 124-2 v Essex 409

Essex aren't happy with the ball and the umpires approve a change.

Jamie Porter will bowl the first over with the replacement, relieving Shane Snater.

His first ball is short and Ollie Pope pulls for four - he is 63 not out.

  14. Postpublished at 17:09 BST 25 April

    Glam 440 v Leic 152-0

This might make Mason Crane's 99 less impressive as Rishi Patel and Jake Weatherald make light of Glamorgan's 440.

A bit like Surrey piling on runs at the Oval, Leicestershire simply went past them, there is a feeling this could happen again here.

Ryan Hadley has bowled just six overs, the Aussie is back for a second spell against his countryman who is 77*.

    Patel is similarly 75*.

Run rate still a healthy 5.19.

  15. Another bowling injury?published at 17:06 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire 67-2 v Gloucestershire 498

We have already seen Anuj Dal go down in his delivery stride and be ruled out of this game.

He was replaced by Luis Reece who joined the match five overs after tea on day one although he had been left out of the game for personal reasons relating to his young son’s illness, he was apparently happy to be the replacement.

Gloucestershire's loanee Henry Brookes has bowled just five overs in this innings after his career best 89 earlier, but has just left the field not looking particularly healthy.

Not clear what exactly is wrong, could be cramp, but Ben Charlesworth, Lancashire bound come the end of the season, to bowl now.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:05 BST 25 April

    Minto c Jennings b Coughlin 19 (Durham 217-9 v Lancs 370)

Great grab away diving away to his left at second slip and Lancs have a third bowling point.

Paul Coughlin ends a frustrating little partnership for the ninth wicket as James Minto goes for 19.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 BST 25 April

    Roderick b Evison 40 (Worcestershire 353-7 v Kent 196)

Joey Evison's delivery stays low and zooms past Gareth Roderick as he tries a wristy turn away and it smashes into the stumps.

That's a first wicket of the contest for Evison.

Worcestershire then pass 350 to pick up a third batting point.

Matthew Waite, who is a fine lower order batter, and debutant Beyers Swanepoel are now at the crease.

  18. dropped catch

Clarke on 60published at 16:59 BST 25 April

    Notts 177-4 v Warks 459

That just about goes down as a drop but the flipside is that it would have been a worldie had it stuck.

Dan Mousley is the fielder at short extra cover and he dives to his right to try and take a low chance after Joe Clarke drives loosely at Michael Booth.

It spills out and rolls across the square to a half about three yards from the prostrate fielder's hands.

  19. 50 runs

for Dom Sibleypublished at 16:58 BST 25 April

    Surrey 117-2 v Essex 409

    Dom SibleyImage source, Getty Images

Surprisingly, for such a heavy-scoring player, that is Dom Sibley's first half-century of the season.

It arrives from 136 balls with a push to square leg for one off Sam Cook. His partnership with Ollie Pope is now worth 88.

  20. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 16:58 BST 25 April

Yorkshire have won the first tier-one Roses match, beating Lancashire by 83 runs at Old Trafford.

Australia's Jess Jonassen was the star of the show, scoring 108 off 122 balls in Yorkshire's 241 all out and then taking 4-30 in her 10-over allocation of spin.

Seren Smale made 46 for the Red Rose, but only one other batter passed 20 and Claudie Cooper (3-24) ended the game by having Mahika Gaur caught behind - Lancashire all out for 158.
