  1. wicket

LANCS 370 ALL OUTpublished at 11:21 BST 25 April

    Anderson lbw b Potts 0

Squares him up and sends him on his way. No doubt in the umpire's mind and the finger goes up.

Durham have maximum bowling points after a productive 20 minutes and Potts has 3-76.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:20 BST 25 April

    Hammond c Aitchison b Abbas 145 (Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 287-6)

What a catch from the man bowling at the other end.

Ben Aitchison did drop Hammond on 99 yesterday, but this is a beauty with his left mit low from the slips.

Just one run short of the record seventh wicket stand for Gloucestershire against Derbyshire, though Miles Hammond and Ed Middleton do have that record for this particular venue.

Mo Abbas bowled a very wide ball the ball before, this is slightly tighter, but more great fielding than great bowling.

145 off 241 balls, a truly sensational knock from Miles Hammond, Gloucestershire's top score of the season so far by far.

Henry Brookes (the loanee from Middlesex) in at nine.

  3. Postpublished at 11:20 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 344-6

Simon Harmer tries to drive Jordan Clark, gets a big inside edge, but is saved from playing on by his pad.

The South African is then given too much width and elegantly strokes it through the covers for the day's first boundary.

Clark corrects his line, finds the outside edge and Harmer collects four - very much more fortuitous - runs to third man.

    Stanley b Potts 1 (Durham v Lancs 370-9)

    Too good for Mitch Stanley.

Matthew Potts has done his fellow pacer with one that snakes through before the Lancs No 10 can get his bat down.

Durham have had a good morning and already have sight of Sir James of Anderson who gets a rousing reception.

    Glam 347-7 v Leic

    Mason CraneImage source, Shutterstock

Fourth first-class half-century of his career, all for Glamorgan.

Very useful from a spinner who is not expected to bowl so much in April, though it is one of the sunniest first months of the season we can remember.

There was a shout for lbw in the previous over, leg byes given, not runs with him on 49* but this is a controlled tuck into the legside for one.

What happens the ball after his 50 is slightly lacking control though as a pushed two nearly sees Timm van der Gugten run out.

Ian Holland has 2-25 from 18 overs after an inconsistent most recent over surpisingly seeing Glamorgan score off five of the six deliveries comfortably.

  7. 50 runs

Postpublished at 11:14 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 393-8

Josh Tongue doesn't get his line right and Ed Barnard clips it off his legs to bring up the half century partnership with Michael Booth (52 from 80 balls).

His next is a simply magnificent cover drive which charges unchecked to the rope.

  8. Postpublished at 11:13 BST 25 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 385-6

John Simpson played a class innings yesterday, eventually reaching his century with 13 runs off the final over of play.

He clearly didn't want to be stuck in the nervous nineties overnight.

Simpson (101*) and Fynn Hudson-Prentice (31*) have added 12 runs this morning as Yorkshire seek an early wicket.

  9. Postpublished at 11:12 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 293-6

Ed Middleton spent a lot of time in the winter batting on bowling machines with James Bracey at the same Perth Grade One club his former Exeter teammates Mr Lammonby and Green played at.

Bracey fell yesterday, but Middleton is looking in great shape alongside another Glos lefthander in Miles Hammond here, both content to bat time still v Ben Aitchison and Mo Abbas despite the bonus point time running out in 12 overs time now.

Glos will be more than happy with 300 off 110 overs after the first three rounds they have had in the Championship this season.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:10 BST 25 April

    Harris c Aldridge b Raine 146 (Durham v Lancs 369-8)

And that is the one Durham wanted this morning.

Marcus Harris had nudged a couple through point and tries to steer Ben Raine in the same direction only to edge to Kasey Aldridge at second slip.

The catch is right into his midriff and the former Somerset man makes no mistake.

  11. Postpublished at 11:09 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 330-6

Just ones and two so far for Essex.

Gus Atkinson sends down a nasty, rearing delivery to Noah Thain, who does well to fend it off.

For those who are interested, the Pavilion clock still shows 25 past four, says BBC Radio London's Mark Church.

Big job, we'd imagine, to take it to The Repair Shop.

    Libby b Milnes 52 (Worcestershire 100-2 v Kent 196)

Matt Milnes is having some game for Kent!

He got a half-century with the bat and has both Pears wickets to fall so far.

This is an important one too as Worcs' Mr dependable Jake Libby goes without adding to his overnight 52.

The hosts have crossed the 100-run threshold in the meantime, with Kashif Ali now joined by Adam Hose.

  13. Conners subbed out of Durham teampublished at 11:06 BST 25 April

    Lancashire 356-7 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

James Minto - aged 18 - becomes Durham's first substitute today. He replaces Sam Conners, who woke up this morning with a side strain.

Conners missed quite a bit of last season through injury too - and with Kemar Roach also sitting this one out due to stiffness - is Durham's continuing issue with bowler fitness rearing its head once again?

It's chilly today. A total contrast to yesterday, when Marcus Harris batted nicely to make 135. It looks like a good bowling day and the lights are on.

The murky skies are not going to clear either. I wonder if James Anderson has noticed?

  14. Postpublished at 11:05 BST 25 April

    Durham v Lancs 366-7

Marcus Harris is up and running with a poke through point off Ben Raine which races to the boundary.

He carves another through the same area off Matthew Potts early in the second over.

Lancs have set the target of 400 but they could still grab maximum batting bonus points if things go well in the next 13 overs.

  15. Play commences five minutes late in Derbypublished at 11:04 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 287-6

Still not 100% sure why, think there was some issue yesterday morning too...

But anyway at last we get going with Mo Abbas bowling to the set pair, the key partnership left for Glos.

Miles Hammond 140* and Ed Middleton on his first-class best in his first appearance of the season 41*.

  16. Play commences in the Welsh capitalpublished at 11:03 BST 25 April

    Glam 334-7 v Leic

We start on time in Cardiff with Josh Davey, in his first appearance as a full-time Leicestershire player after multiple loans, to Timm van der Gugten (22*).

Mason Crane is 48* alongside him showing his worth with bat as well as ball.

  17. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 375-8

Josh Tongue has the ball in hand and has Ed Barnard in his sights on a glorious day at Trent Bridge. We are under way.

  18. Postpublished at 11:00 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 325-6

So, how far can Essex push this total? Noah Thain (33) and Simon Harmer (eight) are the not out batsmen.

There was some movement for the Surrey bowlers yesterday, so the likes of Jamie Porter and Sam Cook will be looking forward to seeing what they can get out of the pitch when it's their turn to bowl.

For now, though, it's Jordan Clark to open up for the home side.
