    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 386-8

Derbyshire did turn to Martin Andersson just after I typed that little prompt.

No sentiment that a Derbyshire decision maker is reading this, but it seemed a most sensible of moves.

2-53 off his 18 overs thus far.

    Burns c Pepper b Porter 2 (Surrey 12-1 v Essex 409)

Did that break for treatment also break Rory Burns' concentration?

A fine delivery from Jamie Porter finds just enough movement to take the edge and the Surrey skipper is gone.

  3. Has ship sailed for Ollie Robinson and England?published at 12:52 BST 25 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 458-8

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

There's always talk about Ollie Robinson and England and has that ship sailed. There's some ex-England players who have been critical and said they were badly treated but he wasn't having any of that he said I haven't taken enough wickets

He's very open. I spoke to him in pre-season when he got the captaincy. There's always stories about not being fit etc. He's a winner, he hates losing.

People maybe questioning his attitude so that's why I think this is a good move to take over the captaincy. He had been written off and I think he wants to prove them wrong and feels he still has a lot to give.

  4. Postpublished at 12:51 BST 25 April

    Surrey 12-0 v Essex 409

Big stride forward from Dom Sibley, who whips Sam Cook down to long leg for the first boundary of Surrey's innings.

Another follows in the same over, this time through square leg, as Cook fails to find the required line.

Jamie Porter strikes Rory Burns on the hand at the start of the next and the physio is summoned.

    Hameed b Woakes 0 (Notts 14-1 v Warks 459)

Big wicket for the Bears and the Notts skipper is gone.

It is a good ball from Chris Woakes which straightens nicely as Haseeb Hameed plays inside it looking to turn to leg.

His form is not what he would like with his last three innings 0 2 0.

This last one is a 14 ball duck and brings Ben Duckett to the wicket at three.

  6. Postpublished at 12:45 BST 25 April

    Worcestershire 172-3 v Kent 196

An expensive over from Mikey Cohen there - Adam Hose takes 16 from it - as the hosts close in in Kent's total.

Hose and Brett D'Oliveira are matching each other all the way, they are both on 34 runs and their partnership is 70 from 100 balls.

  7. Postpublished at 12:44 BST 25 April

    Surrey 0-0 v Essex 409

Rory Burns tries to flick Jamie Porter's second ball away fine.

Porter is convinced that's out as Michael Pepper takes the ball down the leg side.

    The umpire doesn't agree.

  8. Postpublished at 12:44 BST 25 April

    Notts 14-0 v Warks 459

Ben Slater hit Ethan Bamber for two fours and a two in the previous over and he has struck another through cover with the second ball of the next.

Bamber comes back well and beats the flash of the outside edge not once but twice. The slip cordon and bowler were interested but the umpire was not.

  9. Postpublished at 12:43 BST 25 April

    Surrey 0-0 v Essex 409

A shade under 20 minutes for Surrey to survive before lunch.

Two of the county circuit's most experienced batters - Burns and Sibley - up against two of the most seasoned seamers - Porter and Cook.

  10. 50 runs

50 partnership from Glos' numbers nine and tenpublished at 12:38 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 351-8

Will Williams has 30* and Henry Brookes 21* what an effort from two men not employed to score runs, for a team struggling abottom Division Two.

Martin Andersson is yet to bowl on day two, surely he is worth a go before lunch?

  11. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:34 BST 25 April

    Derbys v Glos 349-8

Will Williams has just hit a slog sweep for six almost one-handed into the car park!!

An extraordinary shot from the kiwi seamer.

Maybe this was Brendon Mccullum's fear across November and December, if a Division Two tailender can do this to Shoaib Bashir, was he worried what Steve Smith, Travis Head and co could have done to the offie.

Both Williams and Henry Brookes have taken a liking to the spinner.

    Snater c Burns b Lawrence 17 (Surrey v Essex 409)

Shane Snater plays for turn but there isn't any and that's a far easier catch for Rory Burns than the previous one.

Essex's last three wickets go down for one run - Dan Lawrence takes them all in the space of seven balls.

  13. Women's One-Day Cup latestpublished at 12:34 BST 25 April

Heather Knight is now 78 not out, with Somerset 178-3 in the 30th over against Surrey

Jess Jonassen is unbeaten on 72 but Yorkshiree need to press on from 141-3 in the 30th over.

Lauren Bell has taken four wickets for Hampshire to reduce Durham to 113-9, while Essex are 14-5 against The Blaze.

  14. 150 up for Worcestershirepublished at 12:33 BST 25 April

    Worcestershire 153-3 v Kent 196

Brett D'Oliveira and Adam Hose move their side over 150 runs and closer to Kent's first-innings total.

The visitors earned a couple of early wickets, removing Jake Libby and Kashif Ali, but the current Pears partnership has added 50 runs since.

They appear to have seen off the opening salvo from Kent.

  15. 400 for Glamorganpublished at 12:33 BST 25 April

    Glam 402-8 v Leic

Though it is too late to make any difference points wise, many cricketers have obsessions with round numbers and any first innings three-digit score starting with a four is a decent one in April.

Mason Crane onto 78* now with four off Ajaz Patel.

  16. Postpublished at 12:30 BST 25 April

    Notts 0-0 v Warks 459

Notts openers are skipping out to the middle, warming up hamstrings and swinging willow with intent.

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater are the targets for Warks who will open with Chris Woakes.

    Half an hour till lunch.

van der Gugten st Cox b Green 52 (Glam 398-8 v Leic)

Ben Cox is a superb gloveman as many know, standing up to medium pacer Ben Green again here.

Yet another legside beauty to add to his collection.

He gave me a pair of his gloves when I a teenager on the boundary edge, and I sadly have barely used them as not a wicketkeeper myself, but just to own a pair that were used by such a great keeper is an honour.

Still a great knock from Timm van der Gugten, Andy Gorvin out at number 10 for Glammy.

  18. wicket

    Bedingham lbw b Stanley 17 (Durham 44-3 v Lancs 370)

Stone dead in front and David Bedingham is on his way. Big wicket for Lancs.

Bedingham has walked slightly across his stumps and tried to clip into the leg side but missed.

That would have hit middle three quarters up. It doesn't get more out than that.

  19. wicket

    Cook c Burns b Lawrence 0 (Surrey 408-9)

    Lawrence on a hat-trick!!

Sam Cook tries to drive and Rory Burns takes a fantastic catch at slip - one-handed diving full length to his right.

He tosses the next one up, Jamie Porter goes for a big shot but makes no contact.

    Thain c Smith b Lawrence 64 (Surrey v Essex 408-8)

That is what you call an 'inspired change'.

First ball from Dan Lawrence and Noah Thain sweeps to Jamie Smith at square leg and is gone.

"He will feel he's left a few out there. That's a bonus for Surrey," says BBC Radio LOndon's Mark Church.
