WARKS 459 ALL OUTpublished at 12:22 BST 25 April

    Barnard b James 165

Ed Barnard moves across his stumps to try and lift it over the midwicket rope and gets a big inside edge on to the wood.

That has been a massive effort and while he falls short of a PB (that remains 177*) he has anchored a superb batting effort from Warks.

A 119 partnership with Michael Booth for the ninth wicket adds to a 116 stand with Chris Woakes for the seventh.

  2. Postpublished at 12:21 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 408-7

Shane Snater must have had a good long net this morning, judging by the way he is seeing the ball at the start of his innings.

He dabs Sean Abbott down to third man for four and then clips the next one away to the mid-wicket boundary.

Time for spin as Dan Lawrence prepares to bowl - he bowled four wicketless overs yesterday at a cost of 14 runs.

  3. 50 runs

50 for van der Gugtenpublished at 12:18 BST 25 April

    Glam 393-7 v Leic

First ball of Ajaz Patel's 37th over is taken for four as he tries that outside leg ploy he harshly got penalised for on that terribly flat wicket at the Oval.

The biggest partnership of the match now between these two allrounders doing a wonderful job for their side.

136 balls faced by Timm van der Gugten for that 50, hitting just four fours, showing his great accumulation, great application from him.

56 runs added in 78 minutes this morning.

  4. Postpublished at 12:16 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 400-7

Noah Thain drives Tom Lawes through the covers for four and then pulls for another as Ollie Pope seems to lose sight of the ball at mid-wicket and Essex reach 400 in their first innings.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:16 BST 25 April

Carson lbw Van Beek 10 (Yorkshire v Sussex 426-8)

Logan van Beek does the job for Yorkshire grabbing his first wicket of the match by dismissing Jack Carson lbw for 10.

The discussion among our BBC Radio Leeds colleagues there suggesting the appearance of a little cloud could be helping the bowlers with a little extra movement off the seam.

That could make things interesting for the rest of the day's play.

Sussex are the ones with runs on the board.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:12 BST 25 April

    Booth b James 70 (Notts v Warks 454-9)

Notts get the ninth wicket but they get it nine balls too late for a third bowling point as Michael Booth's brilliant knock ends.

Lyndon James starts that towards middle and leg and Booth shapes to turn it that way but it straightens just enough to miss the outside edge and crash into off stump.

Nice ball and a good innings with nine fours and three sixes, the last of them bringing up a fifth batting point for Warks.

  7. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:12 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 390-7

Sean Abbott tests out Shane Snater with a short one and is unceremoniously pulled for six.

What a way to score the first runs of your innings!

  8. Bashir's first bowl of Day 2 at Derbypublished at 12:10 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 322-8

A top first over from Shoaib Bashir.

First ball is edged past first slip for one.

Henry Brookes tries to come down the wicket to meet the ball but still cannot get it off the strip.

Last ball sees a surprise, clean paddle sweep for two to bring up 1000 first-class runs for Henry Brookes now.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:07 BST 25 April

Harmer lbw Abbott 41 (Surrey v Essex 384-7)

Relief for Surrey as Essex's 75-run stand for the seventh wicket comes to an end.

No argument from Simon Harmer, who barely bothers to look at the umpire before walking off.

That's the second wicket of the innings for Sean Abbott - who removed Paul Walter for 101 on day one.

  10. Postpublished at 12:07 BST 25 April

    Yorkshire v Sussex 422-7

That's the end of the 110th over and Sussex will take four batting points, Yorkshire two bowling points.

John Simpson is still going along nicely, on 125 now, with Jack Carson playing the supporting role.

Logan van Beek has gone 19 overs without a wicket but his team could do with him breaking his duck before lunch.

  11. Maximum batting points for Warkspublished at 12:05 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 452-8

    Michael BoothImage source, Shutterstock

And the final ball of the 110th over sails off the bat of Michael Booth over the Larwood and Voce Stand.

He teed it up with a four from the penultimate delivery and slammed Lyndon James out of the ground with the final ball to give Warks maximum batting points.

It also denies Notts a third bowling point.

Booth, who is vigorously applauded by captain Ed Barnard who hammers his bat in appreciation, is up to 70 just a few moments after passing his half century.

  12. 2-2 after 110 overs at Derbypublished at 12:04 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 316-8

The home side can not rid Will Williams or Henry Brookes in time for the ninth wicket bringing a third bonus point.

And the two new Glos bowlers, who only bat a bit, had no interest in rushing toward 350 and more likely gifting their opponents that point.

Glos still looking to bat time, prompting Shoaib Bashir to warm up for a change of angle and pace.

  13. Get Involvedpublished at 12:03 BST 25 April

On middle names, and as a Warwickshire supporter, I always liked Gladstone Cleophas Small.

    Peter, Bridgend

    Very fine bowler too....

  14. Postpublished at 12:01 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 442-8

Another six from Michael Booth off Lyndon James and Warks are just eight short of a fifth batting point with three balls to go.

And then he goes and blocks the next!

  15. Postpublished at 12:00 BST 25 April

    Glam 378-7 v Leic

I wonder who drove who last night?

Ben Green, Josh Davey and Sean Dickson were all in that T20 Blast winning squad last summer for Somerset and consequently supported their former skipper Lewis Gregory's testimonial opening dinner last night in Taunton.

After many overs of the former two struggling to get the latter out, the car conversation would have made a good podcast, and fair effort from them to drive more than two hours in Friday night M5 traffic before coming back to bowl again this morning.

Dickson happily with his feet up still watching his lower order edge towards 400.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Boothpublished at 12:00 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 435-8

Michael Booth steps over to the off side, sets himself and lifts Dillon Pennington high over the square leg boundary for a maximum to bring up his half century.

It has taken him 101 balls and has contained eight fours and that six.

  17. Postpublished at 11:57 BST 25 April

    Derbyshire v Gloucestershire 312-8

Two overs left for Derbyshire to take one more wicket for a third bonus point.

Zak Chappell, the bowling all-rounder who had that loan spell at Gloucestershire alongside Jacob Bethell and Brad Wheal, is the man entrusted with bowling the latest over against two men who were not his teammates that summer.

  18. Postpublished at 11:57 BST 25 April

    Surrey v Essex 378-6

All-rounder Noah Thain reaches the highest score of his short Essex career with four from the bowling of Tom Lawes, pulled confidently through square leg - the 10th boundary of his innings.

"He's slightly further on in his development with the bat," says BBC Essex's Nick Gledhill.

  19. new ball

New (old) ballpublished at 11:55 BST 25 April

    Notts v Warks 424-8

Notts have got the ball changed after it has gone out of shape and they will be hoping they can get a wicket in the next 11 deliveries to nab a third bowling point.

  20. 3-2 Glamorgan after 110 overspublished at 11:55 BST 25 April

    Glam 378-7 v Leic

Mason Crane does not want to get out to his opposite number, seeing out an 80 second maiden from Ajaz Patel's last over of the first innings bonus points being available.

They do not reach 400 in time, so settle for three batting points vs Leicestershire's two bowling points.

Better than honours even now for Kiran Carlson's men then.
