England have run brilliantly today, taking 10 twos against the Pakistan spinners.

Never have an England side taken more twos against spin in a T20 international.

    Usman Tariq is seen off.

Harry Brook edges a drive through the vacant third region for four. He will not care a jot.

Why can't we, as England fans, hold our own anxiety especially when it comes to T20? The reason we follow cricket is for the excitement - and it is getting delivered!

Will Jacks gets one dragged down the leg side from Usman Tariq and he swivels on his heels and mullers it over the square leg boundary for six.

If Pakistan can break this partnership, they will give themselves a real chance. England will be down to their all-rounders.

It's not just about breaking this partnership, it's also about breaking the twos because they are running so well between the wickets.

England have played Pakistan’s spinners terrifically today in tough conditions (88 runs, 2 wkts, RR 9.4). Comparatively, they have struggled against the seamers (30 runs, 3 wkts, RR 6.0).

  7. Eng 126-5published at 15.1 overs

    Usman Tariq's final over.

A misfield of his first ball allows England to steal a second run which keeps Harry Brook on strike.

    Exceptional running from England's batters.

Harry Brook has been out there a long time. He is probably puffing a little bit but he is just showing his fitness by being able to run so many twos.

We've just seen coverage on the television of the bespectacled Mike Hesson very animated during the drinks break talking to the Pakistan players.

Harry Brook and Will Jacks running ones and twos smartly off Mohammad Nawaz.

With 83 runs off 44 balls, Brook now has his highest score in T20 internationals.

Pakistan's bowlers are using towels to dry the ball now. The dew seems to be playing a part.

This is getting tighter and tighter - do England know what sensible batting means?

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz will bowl the next over after drinks.

Harry Brook deftly flicks him off his pads for a couple to start.

If these two are in the crease for the next three overs, England should get themselves into a really strong position.

Harry Brook has been the best batter of the day, he is hitting the ball so cleanly and he has managed to take down some of these Pakistan bowlers.

But so often do drinks breaks bring wickets...

Why is Jacks trying to smash every ball? Our batting mentality needs to be looked at.

    Phil, Halifax

We can't keep relying on one batter plus Jacks to rescue us all the time. If Brook goes, we lose this game. Brainless from Curran, all he needed to do was rotate the strike.

  16. Eng 117-5published at 14 overs

Low-risk strokeplay as England negotiate Usman Tariq's third over without a boundary but with plenty of nudges and nurdles.

England need to be sensible against Usman Tariq here, knowing that they can still afford to have a quiet over.

This run chase isn't going to get out of hand if this over only goes for six or seven.

  18. Eng 114-5published at 13.3 overs

Usman Tariq, hirsuite and sporting a bandana, is back.

He starts with a dot before Harry Brook nudges it into the leg side for a couple.

Umsan Khan gets very excited behind the stumps after Brook drags one that skids through for a single through mid-wicket.

Stupid shot by Curran because Brook was taking us home. But the more I see that delivery, the more I think that it can’t be legal...

Will Jacks drags a pull into the pitch, looks at the surface, then shakes his head.

The England all-rounder does something similar with the next ball as Salman Mirza cramps him for room a little.

That six the only runs off the over.
