    Well bowled Josh Tongue.

Tongue has been the pick of the bowlers for me. He has stuck to his task and that's an absolute beauty.

    Inglis c Smith b Tongue 10 (Aus 335-7)

One last wicket with the old ball!

A full delivery from Josh Tongue draws an edge from Josh Inglis and Jamie Smith gathers behind the stumps.

Tongue now has figures of 4-70.

  3. Aus 332-6published at 79 overs

    Lead by 417

We resume after a drinks break with Australia captain Pat Cummins now at the crease.

He immediately takes a single to square leg, and that takes us past the highest score chased in Tests in Australia.

A good wicket! But since the first Test Australia have always been solid with their tactics. It’s clear they have a stronger attack and better batsmen. But if we could boss it on tactics we would have a chance. Our tactics have cost us.

    Well bowled by Ben Stokes.

Stokes went gone for the bodyline tactic, and it was well bowled. Carey flicks it around the corner and a simple catch by Harry Brook.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 78.2 overs

    Carey c Brook b Stokes 72 (Aus 329-6)

    Good field placement!

Ben Stokes, bowling round the wicket, has a leg slip in and he manages to get left-hander Alex Carey to gently cuff the ball round the corner with a back of a length delivery.

Harry Brook is the fielder there, and he dives to his right to claim the catch.

A 50th Ashes wicket for Stokes, and Carey is denied the chance of twin hundreds on his home ground.

Bazball or no Bazball, I think everyone in England overestimated how good we are, and underestimated how good Australia are. They are simply the better team regardless of the philosophy.

Good to see Ben Stokes back with the ball in hand. When everybody's back is to the wall, he is the one that everyone looks at.

    Oh yeah, big inside edge.

We hardly need Snicko to confirm what you can see with the naked eye on replays, but the technology does match up on this occasion.

Inglis adds a single from the final ball of the over to move to four.

Oh no, we are going to Snicko...

From the naked eye, you could see Josh Inglis had hit it. Not a great decision from the umpire.

    Struck high on the pad!

The umpire's finger has gone up - has Ben Stokes got his first wicket of the innings?

A possible inside edge, and Josh Inglis reviews immediately.

Everything tells me that this game and series is as good as over, but something about this England side keeps me glued to every moment. I have never felt like this about Test cricket until Stokes and McCullum came in.

Australia are well and truly in charge of this game. It is a matter of how many runs they need or possibly how many runs do they want.

Brilliant innings from Travis Head. The way he has come out today and taken the game on and attacked England.

It was there to be hit, and he has hit the ball so well. It was a good catch from Zak Crawley. A little bit of relief for England as Travis Head has gone home.
