    Hampshire 14-0 v Notts

Hampshire's opening pair have begun their innings steadily. Nick Gubbins has just clipped Josh Tongue to deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs and then, a couple of deliveries later, the left-hander plays a deft shot off the hips which runs to the square leg boundary.

  2. Postpublished at 11:17 BST 15 May

    Middlesex 8-0 v Derbyshire

Sam Robson reaches for it a bit but strokes Ben Aitchison away for the first four of the match at Lord's Aitchison is sharing the new ball with Rory Haydon, who has made quite an impact in Derbyshire's last couple of games.

  3. Postpublished at 11:17 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 5-2 v Northants

A bit of respite for the hosts as Ollie Price drives Harry Conway down the ground for four - and now the runs column outnumbers the wickets.

Slightly too full there from Conway.

Still four slips in play. Nervous times for Gloucestershire.

  4. Postpublished at 11:14 BST 15 May

    Somerset 8-0 v Sussex

Fynn Hudson-Prentice shares the new ball with Robinson, but he drifts one into the leg side for an easy clip behind square for four off the bat of Josh Thomas.

A good, full length from Ollie Robinson at the other end and Jordan Hermann defends on the front foot.

    Maiden over.

    Patel c Pepper b Cook 9 (Essex v Leics 17-1)

    Sam CookImage source, Shutterstock

    A trademark Sam Cook dismissal.

Rishi Patel pushes forward in defence but there is just enough movement to take the edge and he feathers a catch through to the keeper.

So Budinger is in at three for Leicestershire.

  6. Under way in Southportpublished at 11:11 BST 15 May

    Lancashire v Worcestershire 10-0

A couple of boundaries off James Anderson's first over to settle Worcestershire down early on day one in Southport.

This is the first time Lancashire have played at Southport for a couple of seasons and there is a good crowd to meet them on the coast.

Tom Bailey's first ball provides a lbw shout from the slip cordon but the umpire shakes his head.

  7. Postpublished at 11:10 BST 15 May

    Bancroft LBW b Conway 0

Harry Conway strikes with his second ball, drawing Cam Bancroft forward and hitting him on the pad.

The hosts are 0-2 inside two overs.

The Aussie opener gets a decent stride in but that looked pretty adjacent on the knee roll.

    Miles Hammond to bat next.

    Tribe c Davies b Hannon-Dalby 0 (Glamorgan 0-1 v Warwickshire)

    Warwickshire have an early breakthrough!

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, with the fifth ball of his first over, has struck. It was a wide-ish delivery outside of off but it was enough to tempt Asa Tribe into taking a swing. Soft dismissal from his perspective.

Hannon-Dalby finds the edge and keeper Alex Davies takes a simple catch.

  11. Postpublished at 11:08 BST 15 May

    Kent v Durham 9-0

No Ben Stokes bowling at Beckenham - yet.

Matthew Potts shares the new ball with Ben Raine and is right on the money straight away, conceding just a single for Ben Dawkins from his opening over.

  12. Postpublished at 11:08 BST 15 May

    Somerset 2-0 v Sussex

No early alarm bells in Taunton as Somerset get their first runs via a tuck to fine leg off the bat of Hermann, facing Robinson.

A green looking square here though!

  13. Underway at the Utilita Bowlpublished at 11:05 BST 15 May

    Hampshire 4-0 v Notts

We are playing in Southampton, where Toby Albert has got off the mark with a boundary through the covers in the first over to begin proceedings.

We are about to see Josh Tongue from the other end...

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:04 BST 15 May

    Charlesworth c Guthrie b Sanderson 0

Four slips are in. Ben Charlesworth, opening with Cam Bancroft drives and edges the first ball of the match and edges to Liam Guthrie at point.

    Jubilation for Ben Sanderson.

    Nightmare start for Gloucestershire.

Here comes Ollie Price, in at three.

  15. Play begins at Edgbastonpublished at 11:03 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 0-0 v Warwickshire

We have begun in some lovely sunshine at Edgbaston. Ethan Bamber has taken the new ball and is bowling to Zain-ul-Hassan, who played the third delivery of the over with soft hands and so the outside edge did not carry to Beau Webster in the slip cordon.

  16. Postpublished at 11:03 BST 15 May

    Essex v Leics 0-0

Four Essex slips in place for Rishi Patel. He takes a pace down the track and leg-glances Jamie Porter for the game's first four.

  17. Play begins at Headingleypublished at 11:02 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 1-0 v Surrey

We are under way at Headingley - and the first ball is given as a wide!

Fair to say Surrey's Dan Worrall hasn't found his line in the opening over.

  18. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 15 May

    Kent 9-0 v Durham

Ben Raine, the country's leading wicket-taker, bowls the first over for Durham at Beckenham, where the commentators are of the opinion that this should be a good batting track.

Zak Crawley is under way with a streaky four to third man from a thick edge from Raine's second delivery - but two balls later unfurls a glorious off-drive for a second boundary.

  19. Play begins in Tauntonpublished at 11:01 BST 15 May

    Somerset 0-0 v Sussex

Josh Thomas will get the Somerset innings started with Jordan Hermann, on Somerset debut.

Hermann will face Sussex skipper Ollie Robinson first up this morning.

    Yorkshire v Surrey (11:00 BST)

Nice blue skies overhead at Headingley this morning and after winning the toss Surrey captain Rory Burns has decided he wants to have a bowl first.

Yorkshire's Adam Lyth and Will Luxton will open the batting.
