    Weatherald b Mulder 61 (Essex v Leics 142-2)

Relief for Essex as Jake Weatherald jabs at a ball from Wiaan Mulder and is bowled off the inside edge.

The Australian then drops his bat and clutches his left elbow in obvious pain before retrieving it and walking back to the dressing room.

We're not really sure what happened there, the ball certainly didn't make contact with his elbow.

Weatherald faced 77 balls and put on 125 for the second wicket with Sol Budinger.

    Somerset 86-2 v Sussex

A single apiece for James Rew and Tom Lammonby, facing Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

The sixth ball is very leg side and pulled fine by Lammonby for one.

    He's now on 36.

  3. Postpublished at 12:42 BST 15 May

    Kent 87-1 v Durham

    Nearly.

Kasey Aldridge induces a drive from Sam Northeast, finds a thick outside edge but it flies to the right of second slip and away for four.

Northeast moves into double figures, with Ben Dawkins on 41 at the other end.

    Middx 63-1 v Derbys

Nick Potts tries to test out Max Holden by banging one in short, but the left-hander deals with it emphatically, pulling it away through square leg for four runs. He is 13 not out and Sam Robson has 28.

  5. Postpublished at 12:40 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 80-2 v Surrey

Another boundary for Joe Root through the slip cordon.

This time it is a genuine edge but splits second and third slip as Root plays as late as possible to move onto 25 not out.

    Good bowling from Dan Worrall.

  6. Postpublished at 12:38 BST 15 May

    Somerset 83-2 v Sussex

James Rew is twice beaten outside the off stump by Ollie Robinson, who has looked much the best bowler on show here today.

Accurate and seaming the ball away.

Maiden over. Fynn Hudson-Prentice is back on at the other end.

    Prest c Veyrrenne b James 11 (Hampshire 54-4 v Notts)

Lyndon James gets in on the act for Notts! They have four this morning. A nothing shot from Tom Prest outside of off-stump, the delivery after he survived a celebr-appeal actually, and a simple take by Kyle Verreynne.

Prest is fuming with himself as he walks off, a pretty cheap dismissal at a time when Hampshire need to stabilise their innings.

  9. Postpublished at 12:35 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 38-4 v Northants

A brace of fours for Tommy Boorman, driving Harry Conway neatly down the ground and carving off the back foot through backward point.

A little pressure transferred back on to the visitors.

Ben Sanderson has a good LBW shout against Ollie Price at the other end, but Price is forward and just outside the line on impact.

  10. Postpublished at 12:33 BST 15 May

    Somerset 83-2 v Sussex

Ollie Robinson is drawing Tom Lammonby forward into a defensive play and miss but the Somerset batter survives the over.

He's more comfortable against the off spin of Jack Carson, clipping the bowler through mid wicket for three.

He keeps the strike with a push into the leg side for one.

    Lancs v Worcs 69-2

A gorgeous delivery from James Anderson, into his ninth over now, misses the outside edge of Dan Lategan's bat before carrying through to Matty Hurst.

Just too good from the England legend.

    Essex v Leics 125-1

    Jake WeatheraldImage source, Shutterstock

Jake Weatherald nudges the final delivery of Wiaan Mulder's extended over - which contained three no-balls - and sprints through for a single to reach 50 off 62 faced.

Weatherald and Sol Budinger also have a 100 partnership now.

  13. Postpublished at 12:30 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 30-4 v Northants

Ben Sanderson is into his seventh over of the innings as four slips fielders try to warm their hands between deliveries.

Sanderson gets one to cut back and Ollie Price makes a late decision to leave the ball, which bounces over and just shy of the line of off stump.

Just a couple of runs off the over, via a no ball in an otherwise fine spell of bowling.

  14. Run out chancepublished at 12:29 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 71-2 v Surrey

    Now then.....

Joe Root looks to drop and run a single into the off side but only finds Dom Sibley whose direct hit hits the stumps.

Root's dive means he makes it home in time and Yorkshire then eventually scamper through for a single with an overthrow.

Chaos in the middle for a moment at Headingley.

    Essex v Leics 118-1

What a way to greet Wiaan Mulder.

The South Africa all-rounder trundles in for his first over the game and Jake Weatherald launches his opening delivery over mid-wicket for six.

We didn't see him play that shot very often in the winter Ashes series.

  17. 50 runs

50 up for Glamorganpublished at 12:26 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 62-2 v Warwickshire

Glamorgan bring up 50 - and so a 50-run partnership for the third wicket.

Having lost openers Asa Tribe and Zain-ul-Hassan for ducks this morning, Ben Kellaway and Kiran Carlson have dug in and made things a little trickier for Warwickshire's bowling unit.

They have also just helped themselves to three overthrow leg-byes, following keeper Alex Davies' unsuccessful shy at the stumps - not something you see often.

  18. Postpublished at 12:26 BST 15 May

    Somerset 78-2 v Sussex

Spin on show for the first time in this game. Off-spinner Jack Carson is on and the first ball is swept fine just past the outstretched glove of keeper John Simpson for four.

A leg slip comes in. A single to Lammonby in the leg side.

  19. 50 runs

50 up for Hampshirepublished at 12:22 BST 15 May

    Hampshire 53-3 v Notts

That is 50 up for Hampshire, with a measured shot from Nick Gubbins off the bowling of Olly Stone to bring it up.

Gubbins was floored a moment ago while being forced to dig out a full-length delivery from Stone, but with the final delivery of the over he cuts really confidently. An important knock this, so far, for his team in the circumstances.

  20. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 15 May

    Somerset 73-2 v Sussex

Lovely shot from James Rew, hanging back in the crease to thread Haines past gully for four.

Ollie Robinson is back on and Tom Lammonby edges just in front of Jack Leaning in the slips.

Lammonby is squared up a bit by the fourth ball but is far more comfortable with the fifth, forward and clipping it behind square leg for four runs.

He'll keep the strike with a push into mid wicket for one.
