Du Plooy lbw Aitchison 5 (Middx 76-4 v Derbys)

The Derbyshire paceman now has 2-29 from 10 overs.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:46 BST 15 May

Root lbw Fisher 44 (Yorkshire 105-3 v Surrey)

What an opening over just after lunch! After Joe Root hits back to back boundaries to move into the fourties, he is then trapped lbw by Matthew Fisher.

It's not a decision Root looks happy about as he looks at the bottom of his bat before trudging off. The replays are inconclusive as to whether he did get an inside edge.

Good comeback from Matthew Fisher who thought he had his man instantly and the umpire agrees with him on this occasion.

Harry Brook comes to the crease for Yorkshire.

  5. 100 runs

100 up for Yorkshirepublished at 13:45 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 105-2 v Surrey

    Somerset 107-2 v Sussex

James Rew (26 not out) will face the first ball of this session of play after a couple of nervous moments just before lunch.

He top-edged a sweep just over Tom Haines for six and was subsequently dropped by James Coles after a clip to mid wicket in the penultimate over before the break.

Sharp but a chance for sure.

    Henry Crocombe will bowl.

  7. Back underway at Edgbastonpublished at 13:44 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 91-2 v Warwickshire

Play resumes at Edgbaston - with a beauty produced by the returning Ethan Bamber, which beats the edge of Kiran Carlson.

Work to do for Warwickshire if they are to break this partnership.

The Essex group huddle is in session.

What can they do to try and check the Leicestershire scoring rate? A couple of early wickets would help.

Jamie Porter will bowl the afternoon's first over - he has 0-31 from eight overs so far.

His opening delivery is tickled fine for four by Sol Budinger, who now has 75.

  11. Glamorgan pair show 'judgment and skill'published at 13:25 BST 15 May

    Warwickshire v Glamorgan 91-2 - lunch

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Kiran Carlson and Ben Kellaway showed commendable judgement and skill to see Glamorgan through what was shaping up to be a very awkward session.

After asking the visitors to bat on a bright, breezy morning, Warwickshire sent back both openers before a run was scored, as Ethan Bamber and Ollie Hannon-Dalby found movement through the air and off the pitch.

Asa Tribe might regret his force at a widish Hannon-Dalby delivery that moved wider still, while Ethan Bamber passed Zain ul-Hassan’s outside edge several times before he finally got a touch to give Alex Davies a second catch.

Kellaway took a while to settle, and got away with a couple of miscues against Jordan Thompson, but began to hit the ball confidently on the top of the bounce.

Carlson was more assertive, punching off the back foot through the offside as they faced down all six Bears seamers up to lunch.

The session was played to a different soundscape to usual, the building site drowned out by the higher-pitched but enthusiastic cheering of several lively school parties. Several hundred youngsters are now enjoying time on the outfield during lunch, an encouraging sight.

This looks to have been a good toss for Lewis Gregory to have won, with nothing much in the pitch either to encourage or reward the Sussex bowlers.

They have picked up two wickets, Josh Thomas going early to Ollie Robinson, and Jordan Hermann, on debut, rather more controversially given out lbw missing a pull shot to a short ball from Tom Haines.

Hermann, the South African left-hander, had shaped up nicely and looks a more than useful short-term acquisition.

James Rew and Tom Lammonby then carried Somerset through to lunch without further damage, although Rew survived a sharp chance off Jack Carson just before the break.

  14. Lunch in Bristolpublished at 13:18 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 76-5 v Northants

The hosts get through to lunch five down on a morning of seam, swing and a rain delay.

Ollie Price battles through to an unbeaten 26 off 69 balls and Graeme Van Buuren has six after Tommy Boorman was fifth out, bowled by a superb inswinger from Northants captain Luke Procter.

Sanderson the pick of the bowlers with 3-23 off 12 overs.

Kevin will also be speaking to Durham head coach Ryan Campbell from their game against Kent at Beckenham.

  16. Rain holds up Nottspublished at 13:14 BST 15 May

    Hampshire 68-4 v Nottinghamshire - lunch

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

The forecasted showers for the south of the country prevented Nottinghamshire adding to the four wickets they picked up after winning the toss at the Utilita Bowl.

Fergus O’Neill, who went wicketless against Surrey last week, quickly found the right length on a green-looking wicket and had the hosts 32-3 in his first spell, bagging two leg-befores and a caught behind.

Nick Gubbins showed the necessary resilience to stick around but lost another partner when Tom Prest wafted loosely at Lyndon James and edged into the gloves of Kyle Verreynne, one delivery after Notts were convinced he’d also nicked through to the keeper.

This is a ground that Notts have generally struggled at over the years and haven’t won at since 2010. To be on top and frustrated by the rain will be a source of concern.

  17. Postpublished at 13:11 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 73-5 v Northants

Grame Van Buuren is off the mark first ball with a tap to fine leg and Ollie Price sees out the over with a single of his own.

We're playing on here after losing a little time to rain this morning.

Ben Sanderson is driven through backward point by GVB for four.

    Boorman b Procter 22 (Gloucs 66-5 v Northants)

Late inswing from Luke Procter and Tommy Boorman is bowled via the pad on the drive.

Gloucestershire in tatters after this fifth wicket pair appeared to be weathering the storm.

Graeme Van Buuren is in next.

  19. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:09 BST 15 May

    Middlesex 70-3 v Derbyshire

Two wickets in successive overs for Derbyshire will have left them feeling very happy with their morning's work at the home of cricket.

Max Holden and Sam Robson were the men to go, following the earlier dismissal of Ben Geddes, and brought 19-year-old Caleb Falconer to the crease in only his second first-class match.

He has survived seven balls so far without scoring and Middlesex will be hoping he can stick around this afternoon to provide skipper Leus du Plooy with some much-needed support as they look to rebuild this innings.

  20. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:06 BST 15 May

    Somerset 107-2 v Sussex

An absorbing session of play is ended as Tom Lammonby gets his gloves safely out of the way of a bumper from Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

He survives on 44 and Rew has 26 after coming ever so close to being out caught twice in the previous over.

    Somerset's session by a whisker.
