  1. Lunch at Beckenhampublished at 13:06 BST 15 May

    Kent 115-1 v Durham

No further joy for Division Two leaders Durham in the final over before lunch at Beckenham as Kent enjoy a productive morning.

Zak Crawley was the only wicket to fall after a mixed bag of an innings containing some excellent strokes and some rash ones before he was caught at cover of England captain ben Stokes for 30.

Opening partner Ben Dawkins has acquitted himself well against a high-quality attack with an unbeaten 56 off 105 balls and he and Sam Northeast (22*) have so far added 54 in tandem.

Lunch on day one at Headingley and Joe Root will return to the crease 36 not out for Yorkshire.

Root's partnership with Adam Lyth, now worth 58, has helped steady the ship after the White Rose lost opener Will Luxton and then Matt Revis early on.

Surrey have bowled tidily and caused problems for Root, who survived a run out opportunity - needing to dive to make his ground - before Lyth was dropped at third slip by Ryan Patel who really should have clung on.

Rew reprieved by Colespublished at 13:03 BST 15 May

    Somerset 106-2 v Sussex

James Rew top edges a sweep high and just over Tom Haines at deep backward square for a six off Jack Carson to take Somerset to three figues in the 30th over.

A loose clip to mid wicket on 24 is dropped by James Coles.

Frustration for off spin bowler Jack Carson.

  4. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:03 BST 15 May

    Essex v Leicestershire 166-2

What a morning for Leicestershire, who have rattled along at a rate of more than 5.6 an over at Chelmsford.

It looked like normal service when Sam Cook removed Rishi Patel early after Essex put the visitors in, but Sol Budinger and Jake Weatherald responded with some superb strokes in a stand of 125.

Budinger adds three in the final over of the morning from Wiaan Mulder and reaches lunch on 71 not out.

The only comfort for the home side was Mulder's dismissal of Weatherald, who played on for 61 a few minutes before the interval.

  5. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:02 BST 15 May

    Glamorgan 91-2 v Warwickshire

It is lunch at Edgbaston, where Glamorgan have fought back admirably this morning after the early losses of both openers having been put into bat by hosts Warwickshire.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby tempted Asa Tribe into the gloves of keeper Alex Davies in his first over, and then Ethan Bamber produced a corker from the other end which proved too good for Zain-ul-Hassan.

At 0-2, Glamorgan were very much on the ropes, but Kiran Carlson (44*) and Ben Kellaway (38*) have since dovetailed admirably to firstly stabilise the visitors’ innings and then begin to build a fruitful partnership, playing with authority and conviction.

They will resume after the lunch break on the brink of a century stand and with both players nearing fifties. Since those early blows, Warwickshire have not appeared especially likely to make another breakthrough.

    Lancs v Worcs 95-2

Lunch on day one at Southport and it's relatively honours even so far.

Dan Lategan's excellent unbeaten half century has put the Pears in a decent position in front of a good crowd on a beautiful day by the coast.

Lancashire took their two wickets in a short spell with James Anderson making the breakthrough of Jake Libby for 21 before George Balderson claimed Gareth Roderick's wicket for 1 in the following over.

51* coming off 98 deliveries for Worcestershire's Dan Lategan as the left-hander flicks one off his thigh pad down the leg side for four.

It's Lategan's third half-century of the County Championship season so far.

Thanks for clearing up the 'mystery', Ed.

  9. Postpublished at 12:58 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 59-4 v Northants

Good resistance from Ollie Price and Tommy Boorman after losing their first four wickets inside of nine overs.

Northants captain Luke Procter is on and Boorman drives into the off side for one.

A leg side ball is flicked away square by Price for four.

    Robson c Madsen b Haydon 31 (Middx 66-3 v Derbys)

Two in successive overs for Derbyshire.

Sam Robson pushes forward to Rory Haydon and edges to first slip where Wayne Madsen takes the catch moving to his left.

A patient innings by Robson, who faced 71 balls and only hit three fours, but now he's gone.

    Yorkshire 95-2 v Surrey

    Lovely shot.

Slightly over pitched from Dan Worrall and Adam Lyth punches a beautiful straight drive down to long on as Yorkshire's total nears three figures.

  12. Postpublished at 12:53 BST 15 May

    Somerset 96-2 v Sussex

Fynn Hudson-Prentice is round the wicket to James Rew, who defends with the interval nearly in sight.

The sixth ball is leg side and flicked away fine for one.

Jack Carson has switched ends and Rew is back and across to tap the ball away for one.

Lammonby waits in the crease and sweeps fine for four to move to 41.

Two more runs cut on the back foot to cover to end the over.

Good stop in the deep by Henry Crocombe.

That's the 50 partnership for the third wicket in 94 balls.

A big inside edge from Joe Root goes down to the fine leg boundary as he moves onto 34 not out.

His partnership with Adam Lyth is now worth 52.

for Ben Dawkinspublished at 12:51 BST 15 May

    Kent 102-1 v Durham

Well played Ben Dawkins, who forces a ball from Kasey Aldridge down to backward point and comes back for three to reach 50 off 94 balls - his second of the season and fourth of his career.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:50 BST 15 May

Holden lbw Aitchison 13 (Middx 66-2 v Derbys)

A hint of movement from off to leg and Ben Aitchison has his second success of the morning and the umpire adjudges Max Holden lbw. Leus du Plooy is the new Middlesex batter.

  16. Postpublished at 12:49 BST 15 May

    Lancs v Worcs 88-2

Chris Green is into the attack just under 15 minutes before lunch and so we will see a bit of spin for the first time in the match at Southport.

His first delivery brings about a big appeal for lbw from Green and the slip cordon but the umpire says not out. That one might have been just sliding down leg.

  17. Postpublished at 12:48 BST 15 May

    Gloucs 51-4 v Northants

Ben Sanderson continues to pose problems for Gloucestershire as Ollie Price drives and misses periodically outside off stump.

He gets a single off the fourth ball though and Tommy Boorman cuts through cover for two to bring up the innings 50 in 17 overs.

  18. Lunch at Utilita Bowlpublished at 12:48 BST 15 May

    Hampshire 68-4 v Notts

They have elected to take an early lunch at Hampshire and the club's ground-staff have moved to bring the hover cover onto the wicket in the mean-time.

The staff on the ground have been waiting by the covers for a short period now, anticipating adverse weather to be on the horizon.

Play is pencilled in to resume at 1:22pm, so fingers crossed it can begin again as scheduled.

It has been Notts' morning no doubt - Fergus O'Neill removed three of Hants' top order before Lyndon James dismissed Tom Prest most recently.

Much of the struggling hosts' defiance rests with Nick Gubbins, who remains unbeaten on 34 with little support from his colleagues.

  19. Postpublished at 12:46 BST 15 May

    Somerset 88-2 v Sussex

Tom Lammonby is close to getting an inside edge on to his stumps but gets away with a single.

Frustration for Ollie Robinson, who drifts into the leg side and James Rew tucks the bowler away for an easy single.

Robinson adjusts his line and Lammonby drives into cover without getting the ball away.

Robinson has 1-11 from eight largely metronomic overs.

  20. Postpublished at 12:44 BST 15 May

    Yorkshire 84-2 v Surrey

Beautifully timed from Joe Root who whips Dan Worrall off his legs down to deep backward square for four to move onto 29*.
