    Sussex 265-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

After play last night Sussex bowling coach James Kirtley summised:

"Both sides will still feel they can win a match that has been another great advert for county cricket on a surface which has produced some outstanding cricket in the first three days, with everything still to play for.

"Our batters play to their strengths. They are attacking players - by no means is it reckless, they try to be positive once they have adapted to the conditions. It gives everyone in the team the belief that we can win a game like this."

Most of these statements can still ring true, though Warwickshire's belief is dwindling with nearly an hour gone and no wicket taken today so far.

Positive, attacking play has worked so far from Price and Leaning, who have adaped to the conditions and are now seemingly taking their side to victory.

  2. Back under way at Old Traffordpublished at 11:47 BST 13 April

    Derbys 5-0 – Target 138

Jimmy Anderson is charging in and he gets the edge of Harry Came's bat third ball but it falls just short of first slip.

A punch up the ground from the Derbys captain fifth ball gets three and the visitors have knocked five from their chase.

    Kent 178 & 189-5 v Northants 684-2

Ben Sanderson's figures are amazing, he gives hardly any runs away.

    Rob, Northants

Northants bowler Ben Sanderson is 1-25 from his 14 overs at Kent, going for just 1.78 an over.

    Sussex 263-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

It seems to be doing more down the hill than it is up the hill at Hove this morning.

Chris Woakes getting enough movement with the 72 overs old ball to beat 87* Jack Leaning, but no edge behind.

  5. Postpublished at 11:44 BST 13 April

    Notts v Glamorgan 155-5 - target 478

Nice work in the deep by Josh Tongue to prevent a boundary for Sean Dickson, as he flicks Brett Hutton through the leg-side.

Tongue makes the diving stop as Glamorgan come through for two, rather than four.

  6. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:44 BST 13 April

    Yorks 177 & 92-6 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Sonny Baker has found the edge but Tom Prest has spilled what should have been a regulation catch at first slip.

Not much doubt it was his catch (Ben Brown did not flinch at keeper which did not put any doubt in his mind).

Yes, it was to his left hip but it was comfortably in his wheel-arch.

A miss and it's gone for four as well.

    Lancs v Derbys 0-0 - Target 138

Same old Lancs as last season, sorry to say!

    Brian Hadfield, Wirral

Lancashire finished fifth in Division Two last season and won none of their first seven matches.

  8. DERBYS NEED 138 TO WINpublished at 11:40 BST 13 April

    Lancs 351 & 160 v Derbys 374 – Target 138

So Lancs resistance lasted just seven overs this morning as Ben Aitchison with three wickets (he finishes with 3-38) and Mo Abbas (3-32) mop up the tail.

With Zak Chappell last night suggesting that 180 would be comfortably within their reach as a target you would have to say 138 could be a stroll.

Steady on though. Jimmy Anderson, Tom Bailey, Mitch Stanley and Paul Coughlin will surely have something to say about that other than congratulations, that is.

We will be back in a few minutes to see how the Red Rose gets on.

  9. wicket

LANCS 160 ALL OUTpublished at 11:40 BST 13 April

    Harris c Guest b Aitchison 66 (Lancs 160, lead by 137 runs)

Marcus Harris has seen quite enough of this nonsense and he has hoiked Ben Aitchison over long on for a one bounce four.

He moves to 62 and with Jimmy Anderson for company he decides better to be hung for a sheep etc.

His next swipe is his last though as he edges Aitchison behind to Brooke Guest reaching for a cut through point.

That is that for Lancs who are all out. Three of the four wickets to fall this morning claimed by Aitchison.

  10. Postpublished at 11:39 BST 13 April

    Notts v Glamorgan 152-5 - target 478

Sean Dickson is content to block away to Dillon Pennington, but you cannot blame that approach by Glamorgan at the moment.

Bat as long as you can, will be the message.

  11. Postpublished at 11:37 BST 13 April

    Sussex 261-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Chris Woakes eventually into the attack, surprisingly late, perhaps he was being saved for the new ball in 10 overs time?

Warwickshire could not leave him much later though and first ball he nearly breaks through.

It keeps low, perhaps a little bat, perhaps legside, but perhaps the closest Warwickshire have come to taking a wicket this morning.

Sussex have only successfully chased bigger fourth-innings targets at Hove on four occasions.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:35 BST 13 April

    Muyeye lbw b Sanderson 4 (Kent 178 & 179-5 v Northants 684-2 dec)

Kent's innings is somewhat skewed here because of the four wickets, two of them are bowlers Matt Milnes and Jas Singh, sent up the order on nightwatchman duties.

Now Tawanda Muyeye is at the crease with Ben Compton, but make that, was at the crease.

Ben Sanderson, on the money as he usually is, getting the decision as he strikes Muyeye on the front pad.

Five down and only the weather can save Kent surely.

  13. Postpublished at 11:35 BST 13 April

    Surrey 520 & 27-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 144 runs

Very wide from Ben Green and Jamie Smith isn't missing opportunities like that.

He stretches out the arms and strokes it for four, almost in slow motion.

Looks a man in form does Smith.

  14. wicket

LANCS 160 ALL OUTpublished at 11:35 BST 13 April

    Harris c Guest b Aitchison 66 (Lancs 160, lead by 137 runs)

Marcus Harris has seen quite enough of this nonsense and he has hoiked Ben Aitchison over long on for a one bounce four.

He moves to 62 and with Jimmy Anderson for company he decides better to be hung for a sheep etc.

His next swipe is his last though as he edges Aitchison behind to Brooke Guest reaching for a cut through point.

That is that for Lancs who are all out.

  15. Postpublished at 11:34 BST 13 April

    Sussex 261-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Yesterday Michael Booth angled one into John Simpson’s pads and got it to straighten to leave Sussex 184-5. Warwickshire were on top at this stage.

But Booth's angles are not quite right here as he allows Jack Leaning to hit the first boundary of the day through leg, followed by an overpitched next ball for Leaning to cover drive for four.

  16. Postpublished at 11:32 BST 13 April

    Surrey 520 & 23-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 148 runs

Ian Holland is bowling very well for Leicestershire. He gets one to nip away from Dom Sibley and it beats the bat by a matter of centimetres.

Just as we say that, Sibley guides one down to third man for four. But then Holland backs it up by forcing another play and a miss by the Surrey opener.

That was the first boundary Holland has gone for in his opening four overs. He's got figures of 1-5 at the moment.

  17. Postpublished at 11:32 BST 13 April

    Sussex 253-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Jack Leaning defied Warwickshire for three hours on day three at Hove having come in with Sussex in trouble at 68-3.

He has battled on for another 30 minutes so far this morning with little alarm.

If he has not been dismissed another hour from now then Sussex will almost certainly have another win under their belt and Leaning would be pretty close to being man-of-the-match in the most crucial of fourth innings.

    Yorks 80-6 - Target 426 v Hants

What do people think about yorkshire relegation because i’m beginning to think their batting will drag them in

    Jack Green, Brighton

Well, this innings is looking a bit of a mess Jack. And they struggled first knock as well.

  19. Postpublished at 11:30 BST 13 April

    Notts v Glamorgan 150-5 - target 478

This mini collapse for Glamorgan is alarmingly similar to their first innings slump from 81-4 to 113 all out.

It could be all over very quickly if they don't claw back a bit of the momentum in the next few overs.

Nottinghamshire's tails are up. Time to dig in for Sean Dickson and Chris Cooke.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:29 BST 13 April

Stanley lbw b Abbas 5 (156-9, lead by 133 runs)

Nice movement through the air before it pitches and that is enough to get Mitch Stanley defending down the wrong line.

No doubt about that and Mo Abbas has his man as Lancs continue to crumble.

The lead is 133 runs and you would think they need at least 180 and early wickets to make it challenging.
