    Kent 178 & 217-5 v Northants 684-2 dec

Although Kent are Kent, they do still have batting to come. And a spot of rain would be handy to soak up some overs.

    Austin, Gillingham

Very handy indeed from a Kent perspective, Austin... not sure Northants would be best pleased, mind.

  2. 100 runs

100 for Jack Leaningpublished at 12:17 BST 13 April

    Sussex 278-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

A whip through the legside for one gets him there off 208 balls with 13 fours. 259 minutes spent at the crease.

The 12th first-class century of his career and one of the most important.

Man of the match surely unless Warwickshire pull a miracle out of the hat and one of their bowlers does a Brett Randell, and takes five wickets in five balls!

Leaning came in with Sussex in trouble at 68 for 3 and has nearly put on a century partnership with Tom Price who is also on his home debut.

    Surrey 520 & 50-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 121 runs

Leics celebrate as Surrey's Rory Burns walks off after getting outImage source, Shutterstock

A good recovery from 0-1 for Surrey after losing skipper Rory Burns in the first over, who saw his off stump ripped out the ground by Ian Holland.

Jamie Smith, who scored a big 166 in the first innings, has got his eye in and is 27*. Opener Dom Sibley is 22*.

    Sussex 277-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Dan Mousley to bowl his first over of the innings, most likely the last with the old ball, a rare sight in red-ball cricket!

Does Jack Leaning want to face a part-timer on 99*, do we reckon?!

    Yorks 107-7 – Target 426

Ooh... Dom Bess is in the wars here and is literally writhing around in pain after Sonny Baker follows up his helmet strike with an 80-plus mph delivery in the unmentionables.

Walloped in the grille two balls ago, he has now been poleaxed with a rising ball that strikes him clean in the midships and is in considerable pain.

With 319 to win Bess could be like Monty Python's Black Knight if this goes on much longer but, credit to the Yorks spinner, he is upright and back into the fight.

    Sussex 277-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Jack Leaning onto 99* with a push to cover off Ed Barnard's fifth ball of the day.

He is already the top scorer in the entire match...

    Surrey 520 & 48-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 123 runs

Lovely shot from Jamie Smith - how many times have we said that in the past couple of days?

He rocks back to Josh Hull and punches through the covers for another four. His fifth of this innings and 24th of the match.

  8. Postpublished at 12:08 BST 13 April

    Notts v Glamorgan 167-5 - target 478

A much-needed boundary for Glamorgan as Sean Dickson punishes a wide one outside off from Lyndon James and cuts it away with power for four.

  9. Postpublished at 12:07 BST 13 April

    Yorks 105-7 – Target 426

Thank heavens for helmets as a short ball from Sonny Baker wallops Dom Bess straight in the grille.

A quick inspection of the metal necessitates a change of helmet and there is a delay as a new one is brought on.

That would have been horrific had it happened in the 1960s even if Yorks would probably have not been fighting a rearguard against Hants back then.

Neutral listening to Notts vs Glamorgan; Glammy need to channel Rory McIlroy on the first nine yesterday. Could have gone away quickly, but dug in and won in the end. Some game though!

    Em, Newcastle

Rory certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat - as is this match!

  11. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 13 April

    Derbys 14-1 – Target 138

There is going to be a break in play for a moment as Matt Montgomery goes through a concussion check after getting pinged on the helmet.

The delivery from Tom Baliey got big on him and looked to flick up off his glove on to his helmet.

The check is over and he seems fine so Bailey finishes his over. and Derbys continue the chase.

    Surrey 520 & 43-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 128 runs

Ajaz Patel is on for some spin for Leicestershire and Jamie Smith takes him for four in the first over.

The sun is out at The Oval. Let's hope it stays this way. Lovely day for it.

  13. Spin at Hovepublished at 12:01 BST 13 April

    Sussex 269-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

With five more overs of the old ball Rob Yates is going to have a twirl.

0-11 off four overs are his figures from yesterday's action.

  14. 200 up for Kentpublished at 12:00 BST 13 April

    Kent 178 & 201-5 v Northants 684-2 dec

Calvin Harrison drops short and Ben Compton pulls one down to deep backward square for four.

Then Harrison is again legside and Compton picks up a couple more.

That takes the left-hander to 90 and the total past 200.

Only 82 more overs left for Kent to survive today!

    Notts v Glamorgan 160-5 - target 478

Lyndon James of Nottinghamshire on as injury substitute for Fergus O'NeilImage source, Shutterstock

A quirk of this sub rule again... Notts 12th man Lyndon James is on for the injured Fergus O'Neill and now he's going to have a bowl.

  16. Postpublished at 11:55 BST 13 April

    Notts v Glamorgan 157-5 - target 478

Kyle Verreynne has been standing up to most of the Notts bowlers, but not sure he'll be doing so for Josh Tongue, who is into the attack.

And he is not. Good job too as Tongue sends down a bouncer and Chris Cooke manages to swerve out of the way at the last moment.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:52 BST 13 April

    Jewell c Harris b Bailey 5 (Derbys 10-1 – Target 138)

Breakthrough for Lancs as Marcus Harris grabs a simple chance at midwicket to dismiss Caleb Jewell off the bowling of Tom Bailey.

This darts back at his legs late and he is off balance as he tries to flick it into the leg side. Harris has the safe hands 20-odd yards away.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:51 BST 13 April

    Duke c Jack b Baker 10 (Yorks 97-7 – Target 426)

Not sure that was the most sensible shot in the circumstances as Harry Duke hooks a short ball from Sonny Baker to deep fine leg.

Not sure he thinks it was either as he stares disconsolately at the turf before trudging off.

Yorks needed a partnership between George Hill and Duke given there is not a huge amount of runs coming in behind them.

Dom Bess averages 22, Ben Coad 15 and Logan van Beek 21 which doesn't suggest they can bat out the day.

  19. Leaning into the 90spublished at 11:51 BST 13 April

    Sussex 269-5 v Warwickshire - target 328

Michael Booth has been the most wayward, expensive of the Bears seamers today, a short ball is emphatically pulled for four by Jack Leaning, almost dismissively as he goes to 93*.

  20. Postpublished at 11:50 BST 13 April

    Surrey 520 & 37-1 v Leics 691 - Surrey trail by 134 runs

Dom Sibley is quick to pounce on a full delivery on leg stump by Josh Hull as he flicks to the mid-wicket boundary with ease.

A decent over for Surrey, nine from it in the end.

And a good recovery so far after losing Rory Burns in the first over and being 0-1.
