    England captain Harry Brook: "We would have bowled as well. We'll see how it plays early on and try to adapt. It's a new stage, so we should he brave to take on the opposition and put them under pressure. We had an amazing series here against them and can take a lot of confidence having played here.

    "It's the same team but it's a long time ago."

    Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka: "We've been chasing well in the past few occasions and we are happy to do so again. I'm very happy and very confident with the team. We've had lots of good memories here at Pallekele.

    "Injuries have been really damaging for us but at the same time, the replacements have done so well for us."

    No luck for England captain Harry Brook on his 27th birthday as his counterpart Dasun Shanaka wins the toss at Pallekele.

    And he has decided to put England in to bat first.
