    Derbys 281 & 198-7 v Glos 498

There's another six overs of this before the second new ball is available.

That might ask new questions of this Derbyshire partnership.

The right-hander turns Jordan Clark around the corner for four and follows that with another boundary, rifled through the covers, later in the over as he moves along to 63.

Time is starting to run out for Surrey to regain the initiative.

What about 6 pts for a draw. Bonus pts based on 100 overs. 2 bonus pts for coming within 20 or 2 wickets of target in lost or drawn game?

    Nigel, Hinckley

Interesting ideas, Nigel. Maybe it is time to revisit how many points teams get for a draw...

Yorks v Sussex. 90 overs today. Captains should have agreed to 45 overs batting each (adjusted for Sussex's overnight lead) and force a result rather than a tame draw.

Lovely shot by Tom Westley to bring up his half-century from 106 balls, going onto the back foot and taking advantage of the width from Sean Abbott to find the cover boundary with a booming drive.

It's Westley's first 50 of the season after injury kept him out since Essex's opening game.

  12. 'This would be a great escape'published at 13:56 BST 27 April

    Derbys 281 & 186-7 v Glos 498

    Dave Fletcher

I remain less than optimistic, but this would be a great escape for Derbyshire.

I would much prefer if this could go on until at least four o'clock.

Despite their precarious position, it's a positive start to the afternoon by Derbyshire as Luis Reece sweeps Ed Middleton firmly to the boundary to advance to 30.

The home side need another 31 to make Gloucestershire bat again... and there's a whisper or two of some showers later this afternoon.

The Gloucestershire players will hope to be in and out of the actual showers well before then.

    Durham 109-2 – require 227 to win

A close shave for Emilio Gay early in the afternoon session.

He edges but it drops short of Keaton Jennings at slip.

Durham have added ten runs since lunch.

Their run rate of 3.38 is close to the required 3.56.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:51 BST 27 April

    Byrom lbw Davey 5 (Glamorgan 440 & 10-1 v Leics 586-7 dec)

Jonny Tattersall is annoyed with himself after Asa Tribe clips a ball from Josh Davey through his legs at short leg.

It was technically a chance but the sort you might take once in 20 - mind you, if you saw Matt Montgomery's catch for Derbyshire the other day.....

Tribe takes a single and Davey's next delivery removes Eddie Byrom, who plays all around a straight one and is leg-before.

    Glamorgan 440 & 8-0 v Leics 586-7 dec

A short leg and silly mid-on in place for Glamorgan opener Eddie Byrom, who edges a ball from Josh Davey but it doesn't carry to first slip and runs away to third man for four.

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 94-1

Back under way in south London, where Jordan Clark sends down the first over of the afternoon.

A grin of amusement on the bowler's face as he's halted right in his delivery stride, with Dean Elgar distracted by movement behind the arm of Clark, presumably someone sauntering around for a post-lunch stroll.

On a more serious note, Surrey need quick wickets. Essex add a couple of singles in that over to stretch their advantage to 31.

  18. Postpublished at 13:44 BST 27 April

    Notts 279 & 414-4 v Warwicks 459

Post-lunch chat about the possibility of rain is a disappointing start to the afternoon at Trent Bridge - but BBC WM's Richard Wilford believes the first belt will miss to the east.

A couple of runs for Joe Clarke off Ed Mousley get Notts moving after the interval - they lead by 234.

  19. Postpublished at 13:42 BST 27 April

    Glamorgan 440 & 3-0 v Leics 586-7 dec

So, is there a twist in this game at Sophia Gardens after 10 sessions largely dominated by batters?

Glamorgan resume their second innings 143 behind - Josh Davey will bowl the afternoon's opening over.

  20. Kent must 'go back to the fundamentals'published at 13:27 BST 27 April

    Adam HollioakeImage source, Getty Images

Kent head coach Adam Hollioake has admitted their batting is a "real worry" following their innings defeat at Worcester on Sunday.

They have yet to earn a single batting bonus point this season and the situation is not helped by opener Ben Compton needing surgery on his finger - an injury which meant Ben Dawkins had to be drafted in for their second innings at New Road.

"On paper, we have a very good batting line-up so at times like this we have got to get back to the fundamentals. It's not time to be inventing new shots or changing our style of play individually, it's a case of accessing those fundamentals and getting ourselves in the right frame of mind to execute them," said Hollioake.

"The mood in the group is very low and it's my responsibility to try and pick that up. We have only lost one game this year, though in the two we drew we didn't perform well, so we need to starting thinking about that."
