    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 253-2

Dom Sibley's leg-breaks have brought him four first-class wickets in his career, but he's hopeful of adding a fifth as he takes the ball for this evening session.

Sibley's first delivery strikes the pads of Dean Elgar, but the appeal is somewhat optimistic and he has to settle for a solid over and just two runs conceded.

  2. Postpublished at 16:04 BST 27 April

    Notts 279 & 510-5 v Warwicks 459

No declaration by the defending champions.

Will Warwickshire add to the eight bowlers who have already turned their arms over in this innings?

Kyle Verreynne is 112 not out and Lyndon James has 26.

A draw here will put Warwickshire top of the Division One table as Somerset have not played this weekend.

    Gloucestershire can just enjoy this.

They've earned the right to be in this position.

    Glamorgan are 64 behind.

    Derbys v Glos 11-0 (target 36)

Derbyshire have opted to go with an all-spin attack - not because they expect any dramatic turn in this final session, but because they need to make up ground in terms of their over-rate.

So Matthew Montgomery and Shoaib Bashir are bowling in tandem as Gloucestershire pursue this modest target of 36.

They've scored 11 from the first two overs, with Cameron Bancroft on 10 and Ben Charlesworth adding a single.

  6. Westley unveils 'full range'published at 16:00 BST 27 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 249-2 - tea

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

A superb century here from Tom Westley, thoroughly entertaining the crowd which has exceeded 15,000 over the four days.

The 197 run second wicket stand with Dean Elgar has ensured Essex’s safety on another sunlit day at the Oval.

The second half of Westley’s stay saw him unveil his full range of strokes as Surrey’s intensity dropped. What a contrast it was to his one from 27 deliveries in the first innings.

Getting both Westley and Elgar into form is a big plus for Essex who will go into their two home games in May with renewed confidence.

It’s been another long day in the field for Surrey who missed chances this morning when variable bounce was a big factor. They will be anchored in mid-table but they do have a top-class spinner joining them in June. That should help convert the run of draws into wins.

Worcestershire's innings win inside three days against Kent on Sunday continued their impressive start to the season and moved them up to second in the Division Two standings.

Alan Richardson's side followed up their victory over Middlesex at Lord's with another commanding performance and the head coach was delighted with how his side approached the game.

"You never get a complete performance but I think if you try to pick a way to win a four-day game, that is one of the better ways. We bowled really well in the first innings then managed to get a good distance past the opposition with the bat," he said.

Richardson was pleased to see so many important contributions throughout the team with bat and ball with half-centuries from Brett D'Oliveira (90), Adam Hose (75) Matt Waite (53*) and Jake Libby (52), while among the bowlers Tom Taylor took 5-56 and Beyers Swanepoel also took five wickets across the two Kent innings on his debut.

"We spoke about it after the game, that a very pleasing thing was that there were so many contributions. With the bat we had lots and lots of partnerships," said Richardson.

"There was one big one between Brett and Adam which really set us up but then there were others which just kept on applying the pressure and kept the momentum going our way. Then with the ball it was a real team effort to make sure we kept them under pressure.

"In all three games this season, in terms of team contribution, it has been a really good effort, in the last two days at Derby and then throughout the game at Lord's to beat Middlesex and again to win here."

  9. Record stand for Durhampublished at 15:47 BST 27 April

    Durham 233-2 – require 103 to win

David Bedingham and Emilio Gay have broken the record for the highest third-wicket stand for Durham v Lancashire.

They have 187 on the board at the moment. The previous best was during their first visit to Old Trafford in 1993, when Paul Parker and Phil Bainbridge put on 169.

Gay has 107 and has reached three figures for the second home game in a row. It's the 12th time in his first class career and sixth time for Durham.

Bedingham has 81 and Durham need another 103 to win at 2.9 an over!

  10. Tea at Cardiffpublished at 15:47 BST 27 April

    Glamorgan 440 & 82-2 v Leicestershire 586-7 dec

Glamorgan are not quite of danger yet, but sensible batting after tea should see them secure a draw against the team who were promoted alongside them last summer.

Leicestershire declared before lunch with a 146-run lead and got rid of Eddie Byrom in the seventh over of the home side's second innings.

Zain ul-Hassan followed for 29, but Asa Tribe looks calm and composed and is 38 not out, now in tandem with skipper Kiran Carlson.

They need another 64 runs to achieve parity.

  11. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:44 BST 27 April

    Nottinghamshire 279 & 510-5 v Warwickshire 459

You have to feel for Warwickshire. Having enforced the follow-on they have now been out in the field for more than 230 overs across both Notts innings.

Kyle Verreynne goes into tea on 112 not out, having so far batted for 272 minutes to steer Notts into a 330-run lead.

Joe Clarks is the only batter dismissed today, bowled by Rob Yates for 82 following a stand of 180 with Verreynne.

This game will end in a draw unless Notts declare and can somehow engineer a collapse by the visitors.

  12. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 15:44 BST 27 April

    Durham 233-2 – require 103 to win

Well, that session couldn't have gone much better from a Durham perspective.

Emilio Gay reached his century and David Bedingham moved on to 81 in a partnership of 187 which shows no sign of ending soon.

After a tricky start Durham now look in total control and have given themselves an excellent platform to take the win.

Lancashire started with plenty of energy and drive but that has dissipated as the game has gone on. They need to come out after tea with renewed vigour or they will lose a game they probably suspected they could be on to win at tea on day four.

  13. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 15:41 BST 27 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 249-2

We've got a scheduled 34 overs left in the match, but it feels more than likely we won't get to see anywhere near that.

Essex's lead is 186, with just two wickets falling so far today. Dean Elgar has batted right through for his 85 not out, with Charlie Allison on 10 at the other end.

  14. Tea at Headingley - Root takes three wickets but draw loomspublished at 15:40 BST 27 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 272-8 – Sussex lead by 263 runs

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Despite wickets falling at regular intervals during the session this game is now heading for a draw.

The dismissal of Tom Clark, seven short of his century prompted a mini collapse with Sussex losing 4-28, Joe Root claiming three of those wickets, but time and overs are running out for there to be a positive outcome in the match.

Tom Price batted with a runner for Sussex having injured his ankle fielding yesterday, but he looked in some discomfort and must be a doubt for the trip to play Surrey at the Oval on Monday

  15. 'A match-winning century'published at 15:38 BST 27 April

    A potentially match-winning century.

How vital is that innings in the context of the match?

    Abbas b Middleton 22 (Derbys 281 & 252 v Glos 498)

Relief for Gloucestershire as Muhammad Abbas plays on to Ed Middleton and that will be tea.

Abbas, who falls for 22 and Zak Chappell - unbeaten on 27 - batted valiantly but, barring something extraordinary, it won't make a difference in the long run.

Gloucestershire will need 36 to win after the interval.

  17. 100 runs

100 for Emilio Gaypublished at 15:37 BST 27 April

    Durham 223-2 – require 113 to win

A quite brilliant innings from the Durham batter who reaches his century in 142 balls.

The 16th four of Emilio Gay's innings gets him to his second century of the summer which is his 12th first class ton and sixth for Durham.

If you had said Durham would be in this position after watching the first few overs of this morning it may have been dismissed as somewhat fanciful.

They were really under the pump but Gay and David Bedingham have completely turned the game around for Durham who look like they are coasting towards a win now.

  18. Postpublished at 15:35 BST 27 April

    Notts 279 & 508-5 v Warwicks 459

Full toss from Dan Mousley and Kyle Verreynne pounds it away for four. Easy pickings there.

  19. Postpublished at 15:35 BST 27 April

    Derbys 281 & 252-9 v Glos 498

At one stage today, Gloucestershire might have been quietly confident of getting back on the coach before lunch.

Now they'll be here for tea as well, with probably another two left in this session, and this last-wicket partnership of 34 is becoming a real nuisance.

Zak Chappell has 27, Muhammad Abbas has 22 and Derbyshire's lead now stands at 35.

  20. Postpublished at 15:33 BST 27 April

    Notts 279 & 501-5 v Warwicks 459

Kyle Verreynne flips Beau Webster's gentle off-spin down to fine leg for four as the Notts total passes 500.

Will they declare or just opt for more batting practice for the remainder of this game?

    Verreynne is 107 not out.
