    Andersson c Bracey b Williams 0 (Derbys 281 & 125-5 v Glos 498)

That's a big one for Gloucestershire as Martin Andersson departs for a second-ball duck...

Andersson survived an lbw appeal from Will Williams first ball, but the second is low outside off stump and fizzes through to James Bracey.

The batter didn't think he got a touch, but the umpire's finger was raised and there's no room for further discussion as Andersson trudges off.

Brooke Guest strides to the middle to replace him, with Derbyshire in desperate need of a partnership.

    Carson lbw Hill 6 (Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 44-3 – Sussex lead by 35 runs)

Two runs from the past three overs at Headingley for Sussex who are inching their way towards 50 in their second innings.

But wait there is the first wicket of the morning for Yorkshire!

Nightwatchman Jack Carson is trapped lbw by George Hill who has bowled well throughout this contest.

Yorkshire need to keep their foot on the gas though.

How many of today’s Division 1 matches will end in a draw? Seems likely to be all unless a contrived run chase.

    Aitchison c&b Bell 12 (Derbys 281 & 124-4 v Glos 498)

Gabe Bell makes the first breakthrough of the morning for Gloucestershire!

Straightforward stuff as Bell digs one in short at nightwatchman Ben Aitchison, who can only send the ball looping up back towards the Australian seamer and the catch is duly completed.

Martin Andersson, who's had a good start to the season with the bat, is the new man in for Derbyshire.

Atkinson is really on the money this morning.

This is the Gus Atkinson who is threatening to take wickets and cause problems.

We've had the first boundary of the day at Trent Bridge where Joe Clarke deflected Ethan Bamber down to third man.

He adds a single off Chris Woakes and that is the 50 partnership with Kyen Verreynne.

  7. Postpublished at 11:25 BST 27 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 25-1

Really good opening spell from Gus Atkinson, who's keeping it tight as well as contributing the early wicket his side needed.

Atkinson has just delivered his second maiden to Dean Elgar, whose experience could be pivotal today.

Tom Westley has just a single to his name so far and Essex are still 38 in arrears.

    Durham 19-0 – require 317 to win

We've been treated to almost wall to wall sunshine in this round of County Championship matches but there is a fair bit of cloud around at Chester-le-Street this morning.

There is the chance of some rain moving in we are told which adds a little something else to the equation for both these sides as they plot out their approaches.

Ben McKinney leaves the final ball of James Anderson's over which is a first maiden for the Lancashire legend.

    Glamorgan 440 v Leics 511-5

With men stationed all round the boundary, there's no sign of a boundary yet. Ben Cox sweeps Kiran Carlson but has to settle for two.

50 for Matthew Montgomerypublished at 11:21 BST 27 April

    Derbys 281 & 124-3 v Glos 498

    Derbyshire's Matthew MontgomeryImage source, Shutterstock

Matthew Montgomery raises his bat after steering Will Williams to third man for two runs which take him to his first Derbyshire half-century from 104 balls.

Plenty of work yet to do for Montgomery's side - their first task being to wipe out the remaining 93-run deficit that would force Gloucestershire to bat again and use up more time.

    Durham 18-0 – require 318 to win

Just the two runs from James Anderson's latest over - he's 0-7 from three.

Durham are taking it steady and trying get through this tricky opening period.

But there's the first boundary of the morning as Alex Lees is pleased to see Josh Bohannon unable to cut off his shot before it reaches the rope.

    Glamorgan 440 v Leics 507-5

Jonny Tattersall goes aerial from the bowling of Kiran Carlson.

It's a sort of off to leg swish and he doesn't make the best contact, but it falls to earth safely and he adds a couple of runs to take him into the 90s.

  14. 'Tricky period for Durham'published at 11:15 BST 27 April

    Durham 295 & 11-0 v Lancashire 370 & 260-9 dec - Durham require 325 runs to win

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham will know the pitch will do quite a bit, especially with the new ball.

They just need to get through this tricky period, Anderson has opted for four in the slips.

  15. Postpublished at 11:13 BST 27 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 39-2 – Sussex lead by 30 runs

Tom Clark and nightwatchman Jack Carson resume for Sussex at Headingley.

They survived a testing final few overs last night together as Yorkshire sought to put themselves well on top.

The hosts did grab a couple of wickets in the gathering gloom and were close to a couple more with plenty of fielders around the bat.

Yorkshire are chasing early wickets this morning while Sussex are looking for now to stay in and start building their total after a slow start.

  16. Postpublished at 11:10 BST 27 April

    Glamorgan 440 v Leics 502-5

Unexpected bounce for Kiran Carlson, he is convinced Ben Cox got a nick on that as Chris Cooke takes a juggling catch. The umpire isn't.

    Durham 295 & 5-0 v Lancashire 370 & 260-9 dec - Durham require 331 runs to win

They were set 336 to win after Lancashire's declaration last night.

James Anderson is doing his best to make an early breakthrough for the visitors.

Gus Atkinson strikes early! Just what Surrey were after...

Atkinson has got a couple to scuttle through low already but this one is a decent height - it's just the line that looks questionable as it raps Paul Walter on the pad.

Walter may have felt the ball was going down past leg stump - but the umpire didn't.

Essex skipper Tom Westley comes out to replace Walter with his side suddenly under a bit of pressure.

    Notts 279 & 312-4 v Warwicks 459

Just a couple of runs for Joe Clarke from the opening over.

Chris Woakes will bowl the second one.

"The first 5, 10 over period is pretty important," batter Jack Haynes - who was out last evening - tells BBC Radio Nottingham.

  20. Postpublished at 11:03 BST 27 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 20-0

Dan Lawrence was talking up the prospect of a 'bang-bang' scenario after stumps on day three, so it seems appropriate that he's the man handed the ball to launch proceedings at The Oval this morning.

Lawrence's off-spin brings a single for Paul Walter and nudges Essex just a little closer to parity. They're now 43 behind.
