    Durham v Northants 59-0

Ben Stokes drops short again and Ricardo Vasconcelos swings it away for a maximum.

Vasconcelos is no respecter of reputations it would seem.

  2. Postpublished at 12:09 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 53-0

Luke Procter is fine to continue.

He is greeted by another short ball from Ben Stokes which flies through to Ollie Robinson behind the stumps.

The England Test skipper is certainly bending his back.

    Lyth c Cox b B Green 8 (Leics v Yorks 45-3)

    The Foxes are flying!

Ben Green runs in for his eighth over and his line seems to leave Adam Lyth in two minds.

He pokes at the ball outside off stump and it feathers his outside edge on the way through to wicketkeeper Ben Cox who takes a good low catch.

Lyth's 41-ball innings comes to an end and Matt Revis joins James Wharton.

    Harris b Dal 17 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 57-4)

Three fours in five balls for Marcus Harris off Anuj Dal's first over.

The first is a bit streaky past the slips, the second is a nice steer past point off the back foot and the third is a lovely drive past wide mid-off.

But Dal doesn't care about those 12 runs as he bowls Harris with the final ball of the over, knocking the off-stump out of the ground.

Derbyshire are cock-a-hoop as they know the damage the Australia batter can do and Lancashire are deep in trouble.

Luke Procter ducks into a short one from Ben Stokes and it pings off his helmet.

We will need the medical team on for the concussion protocol.

    Durham v Northants 52-0

Just that one scare for Northants with Ricardo Vasconcelos dropped by Ben McKinney off the bowling of Ben Stokes.

Otherwise all good for the side currently second in Division Two, trailing Durham by 20 points at the start of this game.

  7. McKinney shells a chance off Stokespublished at 12:02 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 52-0

Ben Stokes should have had a wicket with his fourth ball of the day, but Ben McKinney dropped a catch at leg slip off Ricardo Vasconcelos.

A life on 13. He hit the next ball for four! It always happens that way.

Stokes got quite an ovation as he came on to bowl, not least from the 600 school kids enjoying a day out here.

Northants are 52-0 against Durham after 14 overs and it's been quite a sedate start to proceedings so far, after the hosts put them in.

    #bbccricket

A wicket apiece for Worcestershire opening bowlers Tom Taylor and Ben Allison has pegged Gloucestershire back after they decided to bat.

The visitors are 40-2 with captain Cameron Bancroft still there on 24 and once again having to play the anchor role for his side.

All rather sedate in Canterbury where Messrs Dawkins and Compton are doing their own 'Benball' with the Kent score 24-0 after 14 overs. Dawkins has six, and Compton, 13 as Middlesex chase a breakthrough.

    Somerset 52-3 v Warks

Bowling change at Taunton as Jordan Thompson replaces Nathan Gilchrist and concedes a single from his first over.

Ethan Bamber is also taking a breather as skipper Ed Barnard joins the Bears attack.

Lovely timing from Thomas Rew as he drives Barnard's second ball for his first boundary.

Rew piled up an unbeaten 127 at Trent Bridge on Sunday and he crunches a wide ball square through the offside for four more.

  10. Stokes takes drop in his stridepublished at 11:53 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 43-0

    Matthew Henry
    BBC Sport journalist at Chester-le-Street

Initially, Ben Stokes' head went into his hands after that dropped catch but he soon broke into a wry smile.

There was a low-five with the guilty man Ben McKinney at the end of the over too. He's taken it quite well.

    Walter c Verreynne b Stone 12 (Essex 31-2 v Notts)

Olly Stone runs off to celebrate taking the wicket of Paul Walter as the batsman walks off with his head downImage source, Shutterstock

That is a ripper from Olly Stone.

The paceman has bowled a brilliant line to Paul Walter in the 13th over and he finds the edge with the final ball of the six.

Kyle Verreynne does the rest behind the stumps.

In comes Charlie Allison for Essex.

  12. Postpublished at 11:53 BST 19 June

    Leics v Yorks 42-2

James Wharton aims an unconvincing drive at Josh Davey and the ball whistles past his outside edge.

He then beats Adam Lyth outside off stump to cap a good sixth over from the Scot.

Ben Green then beats Wharton's push and thuds one into his pads. Big appeal but the umpire is not convinced. Going down leg?

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:49 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 37-0

What a start that would have been for Ben Stokes with his fourth ball.

He has one put down at leg slip by Ben McKinney off Ricardo Vasconcelos.

The next ball is hammered away for four - how's your luck Ben?

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:48 BST 19 June

    Bohannon c Came b Haydon 16 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 32-3)

The sun is out in Chesterfield but it is not smiling on Lancashire's batters.

Josh Bohannon is undone by Rory Haydon as attempting to play through the onside, he spoons up a simple catch to mid-off.

Bohannon's poor form continues and the visitors are in trouble inside the first hour.

  15. Stokes bowlingpublished at 11:45 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 29-0

Ben Stokes is coming on to bowl.

A nice ripple of applause around the ground for the England Test captain.

  16. Postpublished at 11:44 BST 19 June

    Somerset 37-3 v Warks

Things have calmed down a tad as we reach the 10-over mark at Taunton after that three-wicket burst.

It doesn't look easy for the batters just yet, but the in-form Thomas Rew (seven) and Lewis Goldworthy (nine) will know the conditions should get easier as the day goes on.

If they can hang on in there.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:43 BST 19 June

    Jones b Abbas 16 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 28-2)

What's the old saying about class being permanent?

Mohammad Abbas shows that as he removes the other Lancashire opener in Michael Jones as he gets one nipping back to beat the bat and take out the bails from middle and off.

Abbas is still a very wily operator with a new red ball in his hand and the healthy crowd in Chesterfield show their appreciation.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:43 BST 19 June

    Root c Curran b Abbott 6 (Glam 17-1 v Surrey)

Change of bowling brings the first wicket for Surrey.

Sean Abbott, in his second over, goes round the wicket with a full, wide delivery.

Billy Root is suckered into driving at it and slices to backward point.

    A failure on Root’s return.

  19. Postpublished at 11:40 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 26-0

Ben Stokes is doing some lengthy stretching in the Durham field.

We may get to see the England captain turn his arm over sooner rather than later.

  20. Postpublished at 11:40 BST 19 June

    Essex 27-1 v Notts

Tom Westley guides his first ball away to the boundary to get off the mark.

Notts have put in a third slip and Westley is squared-up and plays away awkwardly into the covers.
