  1. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:41 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 208-1

You can't be putting those down when the opposition are 208-1.

It's a good ball from Sean Abbott just outside off and Ian Holland, who is on 14, has a nibble.

It finds the outside edge and goes straight to Rory Burns at first slip but the Surrey skipper puts it down.

  2. Postpublished at 16:40 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 199-3 v Glamorgan 113

Jack Haynes is probably enjoying having a little less pressure on his shoulders compared to the first innings, in which he hit that fine century.

He nudges into the leg-side for one off Andy Gorvin before Joe Clarke does the same on the other side of the track.

Clarke onto 108, Haynes is on nine.

  3. Postpublished at 16:39 BST 11 April

    Kent 17-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

A bit of away shape from Harry Conway but it shapes onto the field of Zak Crawley's bat as he caresses it through the covers for four.

His second boundary of the innings as he picks up for this final session.

  4. Postpublished at 16:37 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 197-3 v Glamorgan 113

What's this, then? The sun is shining at Trent Bridge but the ground staff can be seen getting the hover cover ready. Do they know something we don't?

We've got a 34% chance of rain at 17:00 BST according to the BBC Weather app.

    Let's hope it stays away.

  5. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:36 BST 11 April

    Glos 60-4 v Durham 605-5 dec

A belated tea in Bristol after the earlier afternoon rain and the Gloucestershire innings is in a sorry state of affairs.

Four wickets down and trailing by 545.

Durham will happily run in all day as all the momentum on their side with two wickets from evergreen Ben Raine leading the way.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 16:34 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 187-3

The covers are tightly stretched across the square like new bedsheets with the players having not returned since the tea break.

Umpires are wandering out to have a look at the middle but they will not be on any time soon given there is little movement from the groundstaff.

And with that,,, the umpires are coming off again. We will keep you informed should there be any more signs of life.

  7. 200 runs

200 up for Leicestershirepublished at 16:31 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 202-1

One way to start the session. Rishi Patel drives through the covers from the first ball off Sean Abbott and it flies for four.

And with that, Leicestershire pass 200.

  8. Play resumes at The Ovalpublished at 16:30 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 198-1

Off and running for the evening session. Will Leicestershire continue to eat into that big score Surrey posted in their first innings?

They've done a good job of doing so until now.

  9. Postpublished at 16:29 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 191-3 v Glamorgan 113

A maiden over for Zain ul Hassan to Joe Clarke.

  10. Postpublished at 16:29 BST 11 April

    Yorks 177 v Hants 251 & 31-0

Too many boundaries leaking for Yorks here as Nick Gubbins is racing with 29 from 20 deliveries with five fours.

The lead is suddenly up to 105 and with 10 wickets still in tact, the game could easily slip from the hosts' grasp if they are not careful.

  11. Postpublished at 16:25 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 191-3 v Glamorgan 113

Just the two runs off the first over after tea from Andy Gorvin. A single apiece for Jack Haynes and Joe Clarke.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:24 BST 11 April

    Webster c Simpson b Crocombe 1 (Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 25-4)

Another really poor shot in this game to an average delivery, Beau Webster with a loose drive, offering little foot movement to a Henry Crocombe ball.

I have no further explanation for why there have been so many poor shots today when actually the pitch has offered less to the seamers than it did yesterday.

Bears skip Ed Barnard walks out at effectively 88-4 when you take into account their lead from the first innings.

  13. Play resumes at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:22 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 189-3 v Glamorgan 113

Back under way at a blustery Trent Bridge and it's Andy Gorvin who will bowl the first over after tea.

  14. Evening session commences at Hovepublished at 16:22 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 25-3

Ollie Robinson to bowl the final ball of his curtailed sixth over as the sun now shines over Hove.

Rob Yates 5* and Beau Webster 1*.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:21 BST 11 April

    Allison c Abell b Ball 0 (Essex 149 & 45-3 v Somerset 348)

Will Essex be able to prevent Somerset winning today?

Tom Abell with another catch, at first slip this time off Jake Ball.

To his left just past James Rew's right glove.

Nought off five balls for Charlie Allison, centurion last week Matt Critchley in at five, as we still await news on the issue with Wiaan Mulder, who has barely contributed to his side with bat or ball yet this season.

  16. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:18 BST 11 April

    Kent 11-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

Six overs only before tea but enough for that wicket of Ben Compton and Northants players walk off thinking cricket is a marvellous game.

We will resume with Zak Crawley's efforts after the interval.

  17. Division Two latestpublished at 16:17 BST 11 April

    #bbccricket

Jake Libby has gone to his 50 for Worcestershire as he plays an excellent anchor in this Pears second innings.

He has 51 off 101 balls as he has helped his team to a lead of 143 over Middlesex as they sit on 135-1.

Durham are back on the field and back in the wickets as Matt Potts and Ben Raine have both struck in the last 30 minutes.

Gloucestershire are now 47-3 - not sure there is a word good enough to describe how much of a hole they are in.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:15 BST 11 April

    Benkenstein c Rew b Pretorius 4 (Essex 149 & 40-2 v Somerset 348)

Miggy Pretorius has the first wicket of the evening session, caught behind ending the stay of the young Luc Benkenstein, who did not look too confident at first drop this innings.

The other South Africa all-rounder in this match, Wiaan Mulder is still not coming in, another exciting young talent Charlie Allison comes in at four.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:14 BST 11 April

    Compton c McManus b Conway 6 (Kent 10-1 v Northants 684-2 dec)

An early wicket for Northants and it's the obdurate Ben Compton, who is trudging off.

Harry Conway slides one across the left-hander, who nibbles and that is regulation stuff behind the stumps for Lewis McManus.

Even more emphasis on Zak Crawley now.

  20. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:09 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 198-1

Leicestershire have batted their way right back into the game on day two.

Surrey's first innings score of 520 looked insurmountable but the Foxes, led by Rishi Patel's unbeaten 70 and Jake Weatherald's 96, have eaten into it.

The hosts lead by 322 runs but Leicestershire have nine wickets in hand.

Very much a game for the batters so far.
