  1. First spin of the innings at Hovepublished at 17:41 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 94-4

Jack Carson to bowl off-spin with one slip in place to the left-handed Rob Yates on 36*.

His first ball does not turn particularly, Yates comfortable bunting off the back foot to extra cover for none.

    Clarke c ul Hassan b Gorvin 136 (Notts 279 & 238-5 v Glamorgan 113)

A massive innings comes to an end for Joe Clarke.

The Notts number four tries to go big but spoons it high into the sky off Andy Gorvin and Zain ul Hassan is underneath it to make the catch at mid-off.

Clarke goes for 136 off 195 and has put Notts into a very commanding position.

  3. How many bowlers will Robinson try today?published at 17:37 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 89-4

Sussex have an abundance of bowling options they can cycle through when batting partnerships drive them to do so.

In pre-season Jack Leaning was the 10th change bowler against his old side Kent, when even Tymal Mills bowled with the red ball too!

Having plenty of all-rounders is useful, but despite all the different angles of release available, none of them can separate the two set Warwickshire batters yet.

  4. Postpublished at 17:35 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 235-4 v Glamorgan 113

Joe Clarke is looking in ominous form as far as Glamorgan are concerned.

He whips one away through the leg-side for a one-bounce four off Ryan Hadley with a shot played like he doesn't have a care in the world.

  5. Postpublished at 17:33 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 231-4 v Glamorgan 113

The Notts lead rises to 397. Joe Clarke is unbeaten on 131 and Glamorgan still have to take six wickets.

Feels like a massive uphill task to win from here for the Welsh side.

Perhaps a collapse in similar fashion to their own first innings would be useful right about now.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:33 BST 11 April

    Crawley b Conway 26 (Kent 54-3 v Northants 684-2 dec)

    What were we saying?

Zak Crawley's innings ends on the 69th ball as Australian seamer Harry Conway comes back into the attack and he castles the England opener.

Was there an inside edge or has it just found a gap between bat and pad? It looks like there was a gap.

Nearly an hour-and-a-half at the crease for Crawley, but probably not the return he or his Kent side needed.

  7. Crawley digging inpublished at 17:30 BST 11 April

    Kent 54-2 v Northants 684-2 dec

This is fascinating watching Zak Crawley.

He has 26 off 68 balls but his Kent side need him to bat for a very long time.

This innings is not about scoring rate or getting off to a flyer, it's about digging in and slowly eating into that mammoth Northants score.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:26 BST 11 April

    Libby c de Caires b Higgins 79 (Middlesex 183 v Worcestershire 191 & 179-2)

A bit of width for Jake Libby and his eyes light up for the big drive, but Ryan Higgins gets a hint of movement and Libby sends into the hands of first slip.

He and Dan Lategan have provided an excellent platform, though, for the Pears to take a firm grip of this match.

  9. 50 runs

50 run partnership between Yates & Barnardpublished at 17:26 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 87-4

Consecutive boundaries from Rob Yates off Henry Crocombe and it was nearly three but for good fielding in the deep.

Ollie Robinson has two slips in still, does he go for wickets or try and stem the runscoring?

He puts in another legside fielder for Ed Barnard, catching short leg and midwicket now.

These two compliment each other nicely, hence the funky field changes turned to as they have taken the lead to 150 for the away side.

  10. 100 runs

100 for Rishi Patelpublished at 17:25 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 256-3

Rishi Patel raises his bat for LeicestershireImage source, Shutterstock

    Take a bow, Rishi Patel.

Another delightful cover drive, this time from Reece Topley, and it flies away to the boundary for his 19th four.

And that's the one that brings up a first-ever top flight century for Patel.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:23 BST 11 April

    Ahmed c Foakes b Fisher 10 (Surrey 520 v Leics 252-3)

    Rehan Ahmed is gone!

It's a zippy delivery outside off from Matt Fisher and Ahmed goes for it through the covers again, but this time it's the edge not the middle.

Ben Foakes is there to make a simple catch with the gloves.

  12. 50 runs

50 up for Kentpublished at 17:22 BST 11 April

    Kent 51-2 v Northants 684-2 dec

A no-ball from captain Luke Procter in his first over takes the Kent total beyond 50.

He is bowling in his short sleeves, but despite the sunshine, there's a very cool wind and Procter is blowing into his hands as he heads back to his mark.

Not sure what his problem is... this is a balmy day for a lad from Oldham!

  13. 250 runs

250 up for Leicestershirepublished at 17:22 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 252-2

Rehan Ahmed picks up his first boundary. Wide and a tad short from Matt Fisher and Ahmed is able to swipe away to the cover boundary.

And that is the first batting point bagged with just two wickets down for Leicestershire.

  14. Postpublished at 17:21 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 248-2

Ben Foakes goes up behind the stumps for Surrey, convinced it's taken a nick off Rehan Ahmed's glove on the way through from Sean Abbott.

    Not out is the call.

  15. Postpublished at 17:20 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 248-2

Rehan Ahmed picks up a single into the off-side to retain the strike and his batting partner Rishi Patel, who is 97 not out, will have to wait a bit longer to try and get the ton over the line.

All going rather swimmingly for Leicestershire though.

  16. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 17:19 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 94-3 v Somerset 348

Paul Walter 53* and Matt Critchley 27* were looking good for Essex, that rain delay potentially suits Somerset better than the home side.

The full three roll-on covers are nearly pushed over umpire Michael Gough before he gets out of the way.

    Essex trail by 105 runs.

  17. Play resumes in Bristolpublished at 17:18 BST 11 April

    Glos 66-4 v Durham 605-5 dec

Play back way in Bristol in soft early evening sunshine.

There are a possible 33 more overs left today, if the weather holds up.

The Oval looking splendid in the sunshine. Also on a first date and she’s enjoying it (knows nothing about cricket)

Good luck explaining the rules, Charlie!

  19. Postpublished at 17:15 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 71-4

A crunching pull shot from Ed Barnard is one of the most convincing shots yet today, he is onto 29* now.

The Shropshire-schooled captain leading by example, he less likely to play a poor, loose shot like so many other batters have been guilty of today.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:13 BST 11 April

    Haynes c Crane b van der Gugten 11 (Notts 279 & 217-4 v Glamorgan 113)

No century this time for Jack Haynes.

He was getting a bit bogged down and then tries to force the issue against Timm van der Gugten but can only dig it out straight to Mason Crane at point, who takes a good catch moving to his left.
