  1. Floodlights on at Chelmsfordpublished at 17:13 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 93-3 v Somerset 348

Might struggle to get 16 more overs in today before they take over from the natural light, but the umpires happy to keep on shivering out there currently.

Josh Thomas still fielding in a T-shirt with no sweater mind you!

Jack Leach back bowling with his long sleeve and sleeveless sweater.

  2. Postpublished at 17:10 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 236-2

Rishi Patel is racing into the nineties as he flicks off his legs for four twice in a row off Reece Topley.

Patel is 94 not out from 158 balls and the ton is within reach now.

  3. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Headingleypublished at 17:08 BST 11 April

    Yorks 177 v Hants 251 & 46-0

The covers are on as a shower once again interrupts proceedings in Leeds.

Yorks might be grateful for a chance to regroup and formulate some fresh plans in the break as this game is in danger of slipping away.

Quite what those plans might be is anybody's guess because they have already gone through their seam options.

Presumably Dom Bess could get a crack in an attempt to make at least a hairline fracture in Hants batting defences.

Watching Crawley bat, just to see if he's done any work. He's still leaving his back foot planted and wafting away like he's not in any danger of being dropped from England. He has to go.

    Glen Ingham, Leeds

Few players stir up opinions quite like Zak Crawley!

What is not in doubt is with him playing last week and this, he loves county cricket and he needs runs.

  5. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Lord'spublished at 17:06 BST 11 April

    Middlesex 183 v Worcestershire 191 & 171-1

We have the weird sensation of heavy rain and bright sunshine at Lord's.

We carry on, we stop, but before the players reach the end of the field, the umpires call them back.

A stoppage of all of 30 seconds or so!

  6. Postpublished at 17:05 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 215-3 v Glamorgan 113

Notts continue to plod along and push that lead towards the 400 mark.

A match that started so well for Glamorgan. That first session on day one where they rattled through the hosts seems like a long, long time ago now.

  7. Postpublished at 17:00 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 223-2

A second four of the over for Rishi Patel as he steps back and cuts away through backward point for four off Sean Abbott.

And now just 17 needed for a hundred for Patel.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Paul Walterpublished at 17:00 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 79-3 v Somerset 348

75 balls it took the tall left-handed opener.

    Eight fours in the knock.

Josh Shaw driven through the covers off the front foot for one, a diving stop saving three runs.

19.2 overs remain today at Chelmsford.

  9. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Bristolpublished at 16:59 BST 11 April

    Glos 60-4 v Durham 605-5 dec

The players have not yet returned after the tea as another shower has fallen over Nevil Road.

Probably a relief for the Gloucestershire batting line-up.

  10. Postpublished at 16:59 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 219-2

Rishi Patel surely fancies himself for a ton this evening.

He's been playing these kinds of lovely strokes all day long. This time it's a perfect straight bat to push it back past Sean Abbott for four down the ground.

    He's onto 79.

  11. Postpublished at 16:56 BST 11 April

    Yorks 177 v Hants 251 & 41-0

Just how big a loss will Jhye Richardson be in this match?

Logan van Beek is about to start his second over and was neat enough in the first but he is not the sort of bowler to threaten the edge.

Richardson took just one wicket in the first innings, removing the opener Joe Weatherley, but you would think he might be a bigger handful in these conditions.

The lead is already up to 115.

  12. 50 runs

50 for Warwickshirepublished at 16:55 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 50-4

Again it has been slow going, at under 2.5 runs per over, but with no more bonus points up for grabs and the weather OK for the next couple of days neither side should run out of time with this game already well into the third innings on day two.

Rob Yates is 16* and his skipper Ed Barnard 14*.

    Holland c Foakes b Clark 18 (Surrey 520 v Leics 215-2)

Jordan Clark in action for Surrey against LeicsImage source, Shutterstock

Ian Holland does not get away with it for a second time.

Jordan Clark lures Holland into the cover drive outside off but it's not really full enough and it swings away and catches the edge.

Ben Foakes is taking no chances this time and dives in front of Rory Burns at first slip - who put Holland down a few overs ago off Sean Abbott - and takes an excellent catch.

  14. Postpublished at 16:52 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 208-3 v Glamorgan 113

Notts are probably going to get the best part of two days to bowl at Glamorgan to try and win this match.

The defending champions already lead by 376 runs with seven wickets to spare.

They could really build up an unassailable lead.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:49 BST 11 April

    Northeast c McManus b Sanderson 0 (Kent 19-2 v Northants 684-2 dec)

Sam Northeast's return to Canterbury in Kent colours results in a duck!

The wily Ben Sanderson gets him prodding and pushing outside off and that is feathered into the wicketkeeper's gloves.

A lot to ponder for Zak Crawley at the other end.

  16. Postpublished at 16:47 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 213-1

Ian Holland is looking to make the most of being dropped on 14 by Surrey skipper Rory Burns a few minutes ago.

He rocks back to Jordan Clark and guides it away for four through backward point.

Will the hosts live to regret that missed opportunity to dismiss Holland? Time will tell.

Get Involvedpublished at 16:47 BST 11 April

    Yorkshire 177 v Hampshire 251 & 39-0

Yorkshire are helping to demonstrate a silly loophole in the subs rules. No match next week so they don’t lose Richardson for the next match, teams which are playing next week wouldn’t be able to play the man subbed out. That should be changed.

    Richard, Essex

That is an interesting point, Richard. Does that mean teams can gamble more on players' fitness if they have a week off afterwards?

  18. Postpublished at 16:47 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 60-3 v Somerset 348

Somerset men may well be buoyed by news from back at HQ in Taunton where Sophie Luff has just smashed one through the hands of the bowler to reach 76* and guide her team home by one wicket at home to Yorkshire in the women's first game of the season in the One-Day Cup.

  19. Postpublished at 16:43 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 60-3 v Somerset 348

Josh Shaw to have his first bowl of the second innings having picked up his first three Somerset wickets in the short first innings, wrapping up the tail.

Paul Walter is 43* off 61 balls.

Shaw gets a bit of movement in his first over, causing a disdainful look from Walter down at the surface.

    Notts 279 & 203-3 v Glamorgan 113

Joe Clarke with his helmet off after getting 100 against GlamorganImage source, Shutterstock

That's the 200 up for Notts and Joe Clarke has been the main driving force behind that.

A 15th four of his innings for Clarke, this time from Zain ul Hassan, does the job.
