    Hudson-Prentice c Smith b Bamber 5 (Sussex 130-8 v Warwickshire 267)

Ethan Bamber struck first ball after lunch, having Fynn Hudson-Prentice caught behind, as he and Michael Booth take the bowling after lunch, trying to eradicate their opposite bowlers Jack Carson and Ollie Robinson now from the crease having seen the back of Tom Price just before lunch too.

Sussex continuing to lose wickets quickly, no-one bar their openers has passed 16.

  2. Postpublished at 13:45 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 35-0

Second ball after lunch and Jake Weatherald is quick to pounce and swivel on a short one from Jordan Clark to pull it away for four behind square on the leg-side after a no-ball to start the session.

Weatherald then picks up a single into the off-side.

  3. Back under way at Old Traffordpublished at 13:44 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 65-1

Tom Hartley has the ball in hand and Harry Came is on strike as play resumes in Manchester.

  4. Postpublished at 13:44 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 25-2 v Glamorgan 113

Big appeal first ball as Timm van der Gugten sends it down the leg side and Ben Slater has a flick at it.

Chris Cooke takes it in behind the stumps but it looks like it was a brush on the thigh pad, rather than bat.

Craig Overton's second hundred in first-class cricket

Stand-in skipper Craig Overton continues to lead by example and completes his second first-class century, by far the best innings of his career yet.

The fist is already pumping as he runs through to complete the single.

Coming in under real pressure yesterday afternoon a place higher than usual, with no Lewis Gregory or Tom Kohler-Cadmore batting in this match, he has scored runs just when his side need them most.

He did bat at six for most of the season a few years ago, but has not since seen form like the 60* and 18* he scored in the first round against Notts and this today.

After two hernia operations and getting married last autumn, his partner is pregnant, he celebrated his birthday yesterday, and he is captaining the Championship side, but Overton seems to be thriving on all this new responsibility.

Also now past the 50 partnership between these two big-hitters, which Overton has dominated.

  6. Play resumes at The Ovalpublished at 13:43 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 28-0

Away we go again at The Oval. Leicestershire will be hoping to bat long today to eat into the 492-run lead Surrey have.

  7. Play resumes at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:42 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 25-2 v Glamorgan 113

We're about to get back under way for the second session at Trent Bridge and whisper it quietly, but there is bright sunshine beating down as the players take to the field.

  8. Resumption at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:41 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 v Somerset 264-6

Umpires Michael Gough and Steve O'Shaughnessy are ready with their gloves on, multiple layers on, as there is a small amount of rain and grey cloud just to tease, but they will commence on time.

  10. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:35 BST 11 April

    Kent v Northants 501-2

After the best part of an hour was lost to bad light, we finally reach lunch at Canterbury.

More serene progress for Northants as they have added 92 runs for the loss of Calvin Harrison for a career-best 153.

Captain Luke Procter is still there on 174 and he can decide how much longer he fancies batting after lunch before sending Kent in.

  11. Bears in control at Hovepublished at 13:29 BST 11 April

    Sussex 130-7 v Warwickshire 267

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

Warwickshire in control at Hove after Sussex lost 7-72 in 21 overs as the visitors fully exploited a wicket offering help to the seamers.

The wickets have been shared amongst the bowlers, all of whom have bowled excellent lines and lengths.

The overhead conditions have improved at Hove throughout the morning and with sun forecast this afternoon, Warwickshire could start their second innings in good batting conditions and with a useful lead.

    Glos 4-1 v Durham 605-5 dec

RE: Peter in Whitley Bay (12:35 BST) - is a big score against an incredibly poor Gloucestershire bowling attack really enough to alert the England selectors?

    Robbie Brewster-Lowry, Gloucester

That is the big question, Robbie. The bowling on display was poor, but you have to get in and make runs. This wasn't 40 off 40 balls, but a very substantial innings, a career best 244 for Ben McKinney.

  13. Captain's knock from stand-in skippublished at 13:22 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 v Somerset 264-6

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

A captain’s innings by Craig Overton has carried Somerset to what is already a more than useful first innings lead on a cold and grey morning at Chelmsford.

He has been well supported by Lewis Goldsworthy, who made a stalwart 42 before being caught behind, and Will Smeed, Somerset’s injury replacement.

Smeed has been made to work hard for his runs by some accurate Essex bowling and was badly missed at slip before he had scored.

  14. rain stops play

Lunch at Headingleypublished at 13:17 BST 11 April

    Yorks 129-4 v Hants 251

It is raining quite hard but it is gloomy as well so a combination of both has brought Headingley to an early lunch (or early considering they were running half an hour late).

It has been a good morning for Yorks who have recovered from 48-4 to 129-4 through good work from Adam Lyth (64) and Matthew Revis (40).

The pair have batted really well – cautiously to start with but with greater freedom as their trust of the pitch increased.

For Hants the promise of last night's blitz has evaporated.

Sonny Baker has continued to bounce in tigerishly and Kyle Abbott initially bowled tight lines once again before fading slightly.

Plenty to play for when they return at 1.53pm rain permitting although there is every chance it will not consent.

  15. MIDDLESEX ALL OUT FOR 183published at 13:16 BST 11 April

    Middlesex 183 all out v Worcestershire 191

Toby Roland-Jones goes for a big heave but his off-stump is uprooted by Adam Finch and Middlesex's first innings is completed.

They are eight behind at halfway after a fascinating morning in which they added 92 runs for their final four wickets.

Olly Hannon-Dalby finishes with 4-45, while number eight Zafar Gohar made a battling 45 to drag his tam close to parity.

And with the fall of that wicket, lunch will now be taken.

  16. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:11 BST 11 April

    Glos 4-1 v Durham 605-5 dec

Another dream of a morning for Durham as they raced to past 600 with 244 from Ben McKinney and then 118 from David Bedingham.

A declaration from captain Alex Lees and the bonus of a wicket in the two overs before lunch.

Gloucestershire have been hammered across the first four sessions and it is going to take a real bit of mental fortitude with the bat to recover.

  17. Lunch at Old Traffordpublished at 13:09 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 65-1

It has been Derbys' morning with Harry Came and Matt Montgomery negotiating everything that has been thrown at them.

Came has moved to 36 making the best use of a drop from Marcus Harris off Paul Coughlin at midwicket while Matt Montgomery has ably supported to reach lunch 28 not out.

A disappointing morning for the hosts who have failed to back up their promising start last night when Mitch Stanley struck in the second over.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:06 BST 11 April

    Harrison c Muyeye b Evison 153 (Kent v Northants 472-2)

    Calvin Harrison's career-best knock ends at 153!

He ends up taking one hand off the bat as he tries to pull Joey Evison over midwicket but he picks out Tawanda Muyeye in the deep.

Still, a superb effort from the Northants number three, his innings comprising 193 balls with 22 fours and three sixes.

His partnership with Luke Procter was worth a mammoth 248.

  19. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 13:05 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 28-0

A solid start to the first innings for Leicestershire but they still have a mountain to climb.

Surrey piled on the runs this morning, adding 108 to their overnight score to secure a fifth batting point and post 520.

Jordan Clark added a quickfire 71 from 64 balls.

Rishi Patel is unbeaten on seven for the Foxes and Jake Weatherald is 11*.

Leicestershire will have to hope they can bat for the rest of day two.

  20. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:04 BST 11 April

    Sussex 130-7 v Warwickshire 267

Sussex have played some really loose shots this morning, James Coles, Dan Hughes and John Simpson particularly guilty as their frustrations often showed through swishes of their bats as they stormed off.

Warwickshire have bowled well without being brilliant, Tom Haines and Hughes still scored quickly enough without too many risks taken in the first hour of today.
