That was the fourth time Jofra Archer has bowled more than five overs inside the first 15 overs of an ODI - previously doing so twice in the 2025 Champions Trophy (2-32 in 7 overs v South Africa, 2-33 in 6 overs v Afghanistan) as well as taking 4-10 in 7 overs against South Africa in Southampton last year.

There was some real venom in that shot. Not a conventional stroke from Shubman Gill.

  4. Ind 80-2published at 15 overs

A little bit of uneven bounce found by Josh Tongue with the last-but-one delivery of his over which stays low and leaves Shubman Gill awkwardly jabbing his bat down.

However, Gill finishes the over with a fourish as he thrashes Tongue's final ball it through long-off for four.

This pair have consolidated things for India.

India have a lot of people playing today who don't have a lot of recently played cricket behind them.

There's certainly something in this pitch for the quicker bowlers.

  7. Ind 75-2published at 14 overs

    Target 259

Jofra Archer, sporting a blue wrist watch the same colour as England's shirt, bowls full to Shreyas Iyer who drills it back low at him.

Archer fields off his own bowling before motioning to throw down the stumps st the striker's end. At the non-striker's end, Shubman Gill dives to make his ground anyway.

Penultimate ball of the over and Shreyas pops it in the air where short leg would be positioned, but it drops safe.

Archer then draws an edge from the final delivery but it's wide of first slip.

This game is on in a way that perhaps people wouldn't have expected.

India were in cruise control but those two wickets have made it a very different game for India. Shubman Gill will prove to be a very important wicket for England.

  9. Ind 70-2published at 13 overs

Harry Brook has his hands on his head.

A waft from Shreyas Iyer to a delivery back of a length from Josh Tongue leaves the England captain cursing his luck.

Final ball of the over and Shreyas drives Tongue on the up towards point but it just skids into the turf just before it is stopped by Will Jacks.

Comedic Indian batting. Pathetic, coach needs to go. Captain Gill is useless. Total joke. Can English fans see how silly it is to react like this when things don’t go totally your way?

Take note grumpy England fans: Sharma out for 11, Kohli out for 5... cricket is hard. Every dismissal isn't necessarily a sign of players who cannot bat.

The ball is doing a bit for these seamers. I think England didn't expect it to do this much.

It's going to be an interesting challenge for Harry Brook. He's going to have to bowl a minimum of 20 overs of spin.

  17. Ind 56-2published at 10 overs
