  1. Ind 129-2published at 22 overs

    Target 259

Jacob Bethell enters the attack. His opening delivery is glanced boundary-wards by Shreyas Iyer but Adil Rashid halts it before the rope and India have to settle for three.

There's no stopping Shubman Gill, however. The skipper picks a gap through the covers and collects four.

Another 10 knocked off India's chase. The required rate is edging down towards 4.5 runs per over.

  2. Ind 119-2published at 21 overs

    Target 259

Now it's Adil Rashid's turn to lose his radar. It's too full down the leg side and Shubman Gill sweeps casually along the floor for four.

Two balls later, he strays again. Gill goes up and and over with this sweep. One-bounce four.

Fancy India to knock these off with relative ease. Lots of batting to come, and run-rate at less than a run a ball.

  4. Ind 110-2published at 20 overs

    Gill 51 (52), Shreyas 25 (41)

Messy, messy, messy from Sam Curran. His bouncer wanders down leg side and away to the rope. Just the 18 runs from wides in this innings.

India need 149 runs from 30 overs. England were 93-5 at the same stage.

It's always good watching Shubman bat - he makes it look so easy. He doesn't look like he's going at a run a ball. He's similar to Joe Root in that fashion.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Shubman Gillpublished at 19.4 overs

Shubman Gill takes a single off Sam Curran to bring up the 50 partnership.

Three balls later, India's skipper sends Curran to the rope, steering a wider delivery around the wicketkeeper. That's a half-century for Gill off 51 balls.

Adil Rashid has an overall economy rate of 6.09 when facing India in ODIs, his highest for any opponent he's faced multiple times. Interestingly he's fared much better against India at home than away, with an economy rate of just 5.13 in home matches against India compared to 6.59 away from home.

India are happy to tick the score along at five an over for the time being. England are not building enough pressure at the moment, and must make something happen.

  12. Ind 94-2published at 18 overs

    Target 259

Brief excitement as Shreyas Iyer top-edges a bouncer over short fine leg. It lands comfortably short of Josh Tongue running round.

Sam Curran's final delivery is a blot on an otherwise tidy over, losing his line and straying down leg. Jos Buttler's outstretched glove prevents five wides but India knock three off their chase via that ball and a single off the extra one.

I think Harry Brook captained quite nicely in the T20s.

He also seems to have been quite proactive here. He's left bowlers on for some extra overs to stay more attacking.

    Three jogged singles.

Far too early for India to panic, NatCanadian (@16:32). The required rate is only 5.15.

Adil Rashid is coming into the attack now. This is going to be an important spell from him, he's a crucial player for England in these middle overs.

England have just got to squeeze.

India playing very slowly. If it continues, there will be pressure on later batsmen. Gill & Iyer must accelerate.

Jofra Archer completes his seventh over.

After forcing Shreyas Iyer into a full-blown back bend with a bouncer off the penultimate ball, he tries to replicate it but goes wide and over a leaping Jos Buttler. The extra delivery is a dot.

    Six from it.

    Here comes Adil Rashid.

    Thanks Tim, hello again everyone.

Jofra Archer will bowl the first over after drinks, with India needing 179 runs from 35 overs.

You know I love a vote. Thumbs up for an England win, thumbs down for India.

India have not had everything go there way but you feel as if they have an ounce of control of what's happening.
