Your views on England's tour of Sri Lanka

  1. SL 196-7published at 46 overs

The new batter is Pramod Madushan and he prods tentatively at one that holds up off Dawson, the ball dropping just in front of Harry Brook at short cover. But there's just three from that and Sri Lanka's struggles continue.

  2. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:02 GMT 24 January

Dunith Wellalage lifts Liam Dawson high over square leg and Will Jacks runs in but, diving forward, he cannot cling on to it. It's not as bad as that drop in Sydney, but even so that was catchable.

  3. wicket

    Pavan Rathnayake c Dawson b Jacks 29 (SL 193-7)

    Curse of the (text) commentator...

The right-hander comes down the track again but he is not in control of this shot, swiping Will Jacks high over cover but into the hands of Liam Dawson.

The wheels are coming off for the hosts.

  4. SL 191-6published at 44.2 overs

Pavan Rathnayake has done well in a tricky situation, and he dances down the track to lift Will Jacks high over mid on for a much-needed boundary

  5. How's stat?!published at 11:56 GMT 24 January

Harry Brook has been very active with his bowling changes in this series so far. He has made 17 of them so far in today's ODI. In the first ODI, that figure was 22.

  6. SL 186-6published at 44 overs

Adil Rashid ends an excellent spell by conceding four. The leggie ends with 2-34 from his 10 overs - I'll never tire of watching him wheel away.

And he took a brilliant catch in the deep, too!

Throwing ahead to the chase; aggressive batting isn’t required for me - not even against the pace bowlers, but patience can be difficult.

  8. Not outpublished at 43 overs

    SL 182-6

The ball pitched just outside leg stump and Wellalage survives but that was a decent delivery from Jacks, whose bowling came in for some heavy criticism during the Ashes. This is a much, much friendlier situation for a spinner.

  9. Umpire reviewpublished at 11:50 GMT 24 January

Will Jacks is convinced he has Dunith Wellalage lbw on the back leg. Umpire says no - but England have asked to go upstairs.

Thought this on Thursday and it went wrong at the end but England are doing well here; crucial overs.

  11. SL 181-6published at 42 overs

Dunith Wellalage joins Pavan Rathnayake - can Sri Lanka get into the 230-240 territory? That could be a stern test on this surface.

Duckett just stood there and took the catch chest high. Sri Lanka have lost a man who was ready to lead them in the assault. Asalanka tried to drag it into the space but Duckett didn't have to move an inch.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:44 GMT 24 January

    Charith Asalanka c Duckett b Rashid 45 (SL 179-6)

Well, Charith Asalanka does indeed try to go over the top but succeeds only in picking out Ben Duckett a few metres in from the midwicket boundary.

He could not have picked him out any better, Duckett barely moved.

  14. SL 178-5published at 41 overs

Liam Dawson wheels away and the best shot of the over sees Pavan Rathnayake cut him away past point for two off one knee.

It's just ticking away at the moment, surely Sri Lanka will have to start going over the top soon?

  15. SL 173-5published at 40 overs

Rotating the attack is the order of the day in the heat of a Colombo afternoon, with Adil Rashid back for his eighth over in place of Jamie Overton.

Pavan Rathnayake smacks a drive fiercely into the off side and Harry Brook does well to block it although his hands will be stinging a bit.

  16. SL 169-5published at 39 overs

We're seeing a lot of different Sri Lanka shirts in the crowd today as well as this natty one the team are currently wearing - I like all of them!

Will Jacks is tidy enough with his latest, aside from a legside wide, but the hosts still burgle six from that over.

  17. SL 163-5published at 38 overs

Jamie Overton's radar is a bit intermittent, his first delivery is a horrible full toss outside leg that Pavan Rathnayake swipes away for another four but the rest of the burly seamer's over is a lot better and concedes just two.

Brook may be under pressure for other reasons but I think his bowling changes have worked well, as they appeared to do on Thursday.

Despite the criticism of this team, we've consistently bowled well under Brook, we just need the batting to start clicking.

  20. SL 157-5published at 37 overs

Will Jacks is back as Harry Brook keeps the home side guessing, and he concedes just the two.

Charith Asalanka has become becalmed and the innings is in danger of petering out.
