  1. Sussex now leadpublished at 15:14 BST 4 May

Sussex 271-8 (lead Surrey by 7 runs)

A glorious drive by Tom Haines off Jordan Clark puts Sussex ahead, and it means Surrey will have to bat again if they want to win the game.

The very next ball - the start of Matthew Fisher's next over - Ollie Robinson hits one to the fence as well.

    Middx 430 & 133-3 (trail by 4 runs) v Durham 567

Four byes as Ben Raine drifts down leg reduces the deficit to single figures but Ben Geddes is so close to nicking it two balls later.

Geddes (24) and Max Holden (65) are frustrating Durham who now bring Kasey Aldridge into the attack for the first time in this second innings.

Holden greets him with a beautifully timed four struck through midwicket second ball.

WICKETpublished at 15:10 BST 4 May

Thomas c Hill b Bess 57 (Somerset 136-5, need 124 more runs to beat Yorks)

It's another brilliant delivery from Dom Bess, and Josh Thomas has to go.

The opener leans forward to a delivery which grips, turns, takes an edge and goes to George Hill at slip.

    Game on again.

  5. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 4 May

Sussex 263-8 (trail Surrey by 1 runs)

Fisher's first delivery with the new cherry gets a thick edge from Tom Haines through the third slip region for a boundary. Frustration for Surrey.

  8. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 4 May

Sussex 258-8 (trail Surrey by 6 runs)

Reece Topley's bounce and movement is challenging Tom Haines and he beats the bat twice in the final over before the new ball is due.

Fantastic from Kent today, a proper performance. Great bowling, good catching. Good resilience with the batting. Well done team!

Somerset 128-4 (need another 132 runs to beat Yorks)

Every run is being applauded at Taunton, as Somerset get almost half way to their target.

Thomas Rew gets a thick edge past the slip off Dom Bess and his determined running of a third gets him a huge cheer.

  11. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 4 May

Sussex 255-8 (trail Surrey by 9 runs)

Brilliant from Tom Haines, as he hits Reece Topley through extra cover for a boundary.

Ollie Robinson has been having some fun, too, and Sussex are close to parity.

Surrey, though, remain on the verge of victory.

What a match Josh Thomas has had. One hundred and forty deliveries, he has had to be very patient here.

He played with attacking flair in the first innings. Here, he has showed a different side to his game.

Somerset have got a player who could be around for a long time.

Yorkshire are still pressing for wickets, trying to create pressure and that bit of theatre.

  13. Postpublished at 14:50 BST 4 May

Somerset 119-4 (need 141 more runs to beat Yorks)

Joe Root is the one bowling, but you'd swear he was the batter with the way Thomas Rew casually reverse sweeps him for four.

  14. Postpublished at 14:48 BST 4 May

Somerset 113-4 (need 147 more runs to beat Yorks)

Dom Bess is virtually appealing every other ball, here.

The biggest yell is when Thomas Rew goes to reverse sweep and the ball balloons up into a fielder's hand. But it came off the pad, not the bat, and Bess's passionate war dances are in vain.

  15. KENT BEAT DERBYSHIREpublished at 14:45 BST 4 May
    Breaking

    Kent (352 & 335) beat Derbyshire (304 & 158) by 225 runs

    Kent have wrapped it up!

Ekansh Singh gets Luis Reece caught behind for 67 and the hosts win by 225 runs at Canterbury.

But the story of the day has been Kent fast bowler Matt Milnes who finished with a career-best 6-12.

Kent pick up their first win in Division Two this season, while Derbyshire remain without a victory.

Somerset 113-4 (need 147 more runs to beat Yorks)

Another important innings this from Josh Thomas, following his 136 in the first innings. He gets himself a single to take him to 50. Somerset may need him to get to three figures again.

GLAM BEAT HANTS BY AN INNS & 69 RUNSpublished at 14:45 BST 4 May

    Brown b van der Gugten 96 (Hants 214 & 253 v Glam 536-7d)

    Glamorgan players celebrateImage source, Shutterstock

Timm van der Gugten demolishes Ben Brown's middle stump as the Hants captain looks for the boundary to bring up a second century of the campaign.

And that is that at Southampton.

It confirms a well-deserved victory for Glam who have dominated every inch of this contest from flagfall and posted a first win of the season and a first in the top flight since 2005.

It was one which never looked in too much doubt from the moment Hants won a toss which, in hindsight, they probably wish they had lost.

Put in by Brown, Glam battered their way to a huge 536-7 before declaring – Kiran Carlson with a first double hundred (209) of his first class career and a maiden first class century for Zain-ul-Hassan (143).

Hants had a chance to do the same but found Glamorgan's bowling attack covering all options and angles. Van der Gugten (4-53), Mason Crane (3-31) against his old team the pick as they left their reply 322 runs short.

Forced to follow-on they did not fare much better at the second attempt with the honourable exception of Ben Brown. Crane (3-48) notionally the best of another good all round display.

Glam add 23 points (just one batting point shy of a full complement) while Hants gathered just one (bowling).

  18. Postpublished at 14:43 BST 4 May

Somerset 112-4 (need 148 more runs to beat Yorks)

Dom Bess is getting some great turn. He gets some sharp spin past Josh Thomas and is the only one in the ground who thinks it was anywhere near the bat. His appeals are turned down.

Replays showed clear daylight, between bat and ball but it turned a lot away from the left-hander.

  19. 'Gloomy at Lord's'published at 14:42 BST 4 May

    Middlesex 105-3 (trail by 32) v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Max Holden has just pulled Matty Potts through mid-wicket to bring up his second 50 of the game. It's gloomy and the fielder on the boundary never saw it.

He made 65 in the first innings and this half-century has come in 105 balls and included seven boundaries. His partnership with Ben Geddes is also worth 50.

Middlesex trail Durham by 32 runs and there are 54 overs left in the day. They basically need to bat up to the final hour to give themselves a chance of saving the game as a draw.

But the light may be an issue. The high rise development over at Acton keeps disappearing from view and even with the lights on it is difficult to track the ball from our commentary position.

    Middlesex 430 & 105-3 v Durham 567

Middlesex will be feeling much better after lunch.

Max Holden goes to his second fifty of the match and the hosts continue to chip into the deficit at Lord's.

    They now trail by 32.
