Clever bowling from Liam Dawson. He's bowled well in this tournament. Mitchell took the bait.

The safe hands of Will Jacks. Dawson has earned that wicket. He's bowled really well in this over.

Mitchell was all at sea - heaving and huffing and puffing but never able to lay proper bat on ball.

  3. wicket

    Mitchell c Jacks b Dawson 3 (NZ 133-5)

Really good stuff from Liam Dawson.

After just a single from the first three balls of the over, Daryl Mitchell decides he has to go big.

He tries but succeeds only in chipping it down the throat of Will Jacks at long-off.

The end of a short but painful innings from Mitchell with Dawson winning that battle comfortably.

  4. NZ 132-4published at 16 overs

Another good over for England as Rehan Ahmed's second goes for just seven.

    A third boundary-less over in a row.

With just 24 balls left in the innings, I wouldn't expect another one. New Zealand would certainly hope not anyway.

Ten an over would be lovely for New Zealand. It's how you want to finish an innings. They have enough wickets in hand that they can start to accelerate. But the spinners are bowling nicely.

Going exactly according to the Kiwi plan. Good start and now the big hitters come into play with 6 overs to go. Stand back for the fireworks

What an over from Adil Rashid, just two from it and a wicket.

He goes through the full repertoire, finishing with a big-turning googly that new batter Daryl Mitchell doesn't pick.

Struck on the pad but turning too much for lbw to come into play.

That was a beautiful delivery from Adil Rashid. Chapman knew absolutely nothing about that. Magic. The kind of delivery we've seen him bowl over and over and over again.

Lovely delivery from Rashid. He takes the pace off, Chapman comes down to meet the ball, he's through it too early, a big hack across the line, and easily taken by Buttler.

Chapman st Buttler b Rashid 15 (NZ 123-4)

    Adil Rashid does it again!

Just a lovely delivery that beats Mark Chapman in the flight, dipping late to beat the left-hander.

The New Zealander does even try and get back. He's well gone as Jos Buttler nudges off the bails.

    Top class leg-spin bowling.

Hmm. Both wrist-spinners but they're very different types of bowlers, Dave.

I've no doubt Rehan Ahmed can play a big part for England over the next few years but as an Adil Rashid replacement? I'm less sure about that.

Rehan Ahmed is a ready made replacement for Adil Rashid in white-ball cricket as well as a better batter. He will get better and be more consistent, but in a test match batters will just sit on the back foot and wait for the bad ball.

  13. NZ 123-3published at 14 overs

A boundary-less over from Will Jacks, who has done well again for England today.

New Zealand have to settle for seven from the over as the drinks come out.

Nice platform set by the Black Caps but England will feel a strong finish and they're right in this one.

Another frustrating one for England. The fielders on the long boundary are in off the rope.

If Phil Salt had been back, he might have had a chance to get round. He's in to cut down the twos.

  16. NZ 116-3published at 13 overs

    Chapman 11, Phillips 30

England have got their fielders in the deep a few yards off the rope rather than right on it and it proves costly.

Mark Chapman hit high towards deep mid-wicket and clears Phil Salt, one bounce for four. Had Salt been right back, that's a simple catch.

To add to Liam Dawson and England's frustration, Chapman whips the next ball perfectly into the same on the leg side for four more.

  17. NZ 107-3published at 12.1 overs

Huge moment of good fortune for Mark Chapman as he miscues a ball from Liam Dawson and sends it straight up.

The ball is in the air for an age but Chapman has managed to pick gap perfectly with three fielders converging but none able to get there in time.

Rehan Ahmed's been in and around England's white-ball squads a lot. He played the three ODIs at this ground before the World Cup, opened the batting in two of those games.

Now he's carded to come in at nine which tells you the versatility he brings to this team and the strength of the batting.

I've watched him a lot in the nets and he's hitting the ball miles - as far as any of the batters.

Mixed bag from Rehan Ahmed. Wicket off the first ball, nine off the next five.

  20. NZ 106-3published at 12 overs

Nine come from Rehan Ahmed's first over but, crucially, a wicket in there as well.

Glenn Phillips is still there for New Zealand and is looking in good nick, thumping a flighted ball back over Ahmed's head for four.

His looks the vital wicket at the moment.
