Good review from Tim Seifert. That missed the ball by a distance and then flicked the back leg.

My instinct is he's not hit this and it's come off his body. It cut him in half.

Brilliant first over from Jofra Archer and he thinks he's made the breakthrough.

Tim Seifert is cut in half by a ball that nips back and England think there is an inside edge.

Given but Seifert reviews quickly. I don't think he hit this one...

It will be interesting to see how quickly England will bring spin into play. I imagine it will be the second over of the powerplay.

Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have taken the powerplay on. They're a dangerous partnership.

Jofra Archer was doing an exaggerated stretching routine while they waited to start. He was on his belly, rolling around.

  6. NZ 0-0published at 0.2 overs

The clock ticks over to 13:30 GMT and Jofra Archer runs in to bowl the first ball of the match.

Back of a length and defended by Tim Seifert.

That might be it for the defensive shots from the Black Caps opener, though, as he swings and misses at the next ball.

There's no pressure really but I think England would like to avoid South Africa. England would do well to avoid them up until the final if they can.

Victory would secure a match against probably India or West Indies.

Right, everyone is out there and ready to go... but they're a couple of minutes early for the official time.

A bit of standing around before Jofra Archer bowls the first over then. Tim Seifert will be on strike for New Zealand.

I like it [Rehan for Overton]. We've got some really peculiar boundaries and it's a used pitch as well. Rehan gives England a fifth spin option, so they can use the boundaries to their advantage.

If you look at Jos Buttler - what a perfect opportunity. It's a free hit for him to go out and block out all of the outside noise and get a score on the board for himself against a world-class bowling attack.

It's having that luxury of knowing 'today doesn't really matter, I can just go out and be free'.

  10. How things standpublished at 13:27 GMT 27 February

England may be safely through to the semi-finals but they still need to win today to secure top spot in the group.

Victory for New Zealand would secure their place in the last four as group winners.

England booked their place in the semis with a two-wicket win over Pakistan on Tuesday.

The bowlers did a good job of restricting Pakistan to a chaseable target but that England actually got over the line was down to a stunning captain's knock from Harry Brook...

  16. Henry to leave NZ camp after tonight's gamepublished at 13:17 GMT 27 February

New Zealand have announced that fast bowler Matt Henry will leave the squad following today's match to attend the birth of his second child.

Should the Black Caps qualify for the semi-finals, Henry could return to the group for the latter stages of the tournament.

"Firstly, we’re all very excited for Matt and Holly on the arrival of their second child," said head coach Rob Walter.

"It’s a very significant moment for their family and we’re wishing them all the best.

"There’s a lot of water to go under the bridge but we’re hopeful that the stars align for the team and for Matt and that we’ll see him back competing in the final phases of the competition."

  17. The teamspublished at 13:14 GMT 27 February

Feels like somebody has just copied and pasted that, Matt, given the man himself said at the toss that he'll be staying at three.

That's where we've put him anyway. One to keep an eye on later, though.

England: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (wk), Harry Brook (c), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Rehan Ahmed, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid

New Zealand: Tim Seifert (wk), Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner (c), Cole McConchie, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson

Harry Brook is carded as England's number five on the sheets we have been given, despite his knock at three the other day. Interesting...

  19. Postpublished at 13:10 GMT 27 February

England captain Harry Brook: "We would have batted as well. We watched the game the other night and there was a bit of spin there but we've spoken about adapting conditions so it'll be a good challenge."

Hard to find an edge having qualified? "No, they're an amazing side so if we can beat them and knock them out then that will be awesome.

"The main message is to go out there, play with freedom and take it to them. We're looking forward to tonight."

On fielding: "I think we've fielded amazingly in this tournament but in the last game there was a bit of mis-execution. Don't mind mis-execution as long the energy is there."

On team news: "I'll be sticking at number three. We've got one change. Jamie Overton is out and Rehan Ahmed is in."

  20. Postpublished at 13:08 GMT 27 February

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner: "You have to win games if you want to win a World Cup. First things first is trying to beat a good England team.

"It was nice to have a run out on this wicket the other night. We kind of know what it might do, if it does the same. But we know we're up for a challenge.

"It does look the same. It looked pretty good last time, spun more than we thought. If it does something similar, it's the same plans. If it's flatter, you adjust the plans accordingly."
