  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.3 overs

    Bennett c Markram b Nortje 15 (Zim 28-2)

The bowling changes continue, with Anrich Nortje replacing Lungi Ngidi after one over and he strikes with his third ball.

Brian Bennett sprays a routine catch to Aiden Markram at mid-off. He's out for 15 (13).

Out walks Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.

  2. Zim 28-1published at 4 overs

    Dion Myers is living dangerously!

He had his outside edge beaten in Kwena Maphaka's previous over. This time he skies a top edge. Fortunately for Zimbabwe it falls in between three fielders converging from slip, point and deep third.

Maphaka has 1-9 from his first two overs.

  3. Zim 24-1published at 3 overs

Lungi Ndigi replaces the expensive George Linde.

His second ball is pulled over mid-on for four by Brian Bennett but it's an otherwise tidy over.

    Six from it.

  4. Zim 18-1published at 2 overs

Kwena Maphaka is all over Dion Myers for three deliveries, the batter reaching and wafting without success, but Zimbabwe's number three gets the last laugh, planting the final ball of the over straight down the ground for four.

A good over from Maphaka. Five runs and a wicket.

  5. Zim 14-1published at 1.3 overs

Oooooh that brought a sharp intake of breath! Kwena Maphaka beats the outside edge of Dion Myers' bat by a few millimetres.

That was nearly two in two for the teenager.

He just angled the ball back in. It has just done Tadiwanashe Marumani for pace because Kwena Maphaka is quite a skiddy bowler and doesn't get much pace.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.2 overs

    Marumani b Maphaka 7 (Zim 14-1)

It was brief but fun from Tadiwanashe Marumani, out for a run-a-ball seven.

19-year-old Kwena Maphaka demolishes his leg-stump with an angled delivery.

  8. 6 runs

    Zim 13-0published at 1 over

The in-form Brian Bennett gets on strike for the final ball of the over, goes down on one knee, and sweeps George Linde for six.

13 runs off the opening over. Zimbabwe have come out with intent.

  9. Zim 4-0published at 0.3 overs

A one-handed attempted reverse sweep? You do you, Tadiwanashe Marumani.

That was rapid. The batters will like the look of how that shot raced to the boundary.

  11. Zim 4-0published at 0.1 overs

Tadiwanashe Marumani opens his innings with a boundary, dabbing George Linde fine for four.

  12. Postpublished at 09:31 GMT 1 March

The players are out in the middle.

Zimbabwe's Brian Bennett, who scored an unbeaten 97 against India, and Tadiwanashe Marumani will open the bat for Zimbabwe.

George Linde has the ball in hand for South Africa.

South Africa have been outstanding through this whole tournament.

They're in a wonderful situation where they can give some of their fast bowlers [a go]. I like it. Nortje is outstanding. Maphaka is an exciting young fast bowler - a leftie. He gives them a different dynamic.

South Africa have been outstanding. If past World Cups weren't in the way, we'd say they were the favourites. There's always going to be nerves around a semi-final with South Africa.

  14. Postpublished at 09:26 GMT 1 March

South Africa are the only unbeaten side left in this T20 World Cup and booked their spot in the semi-finals with a game to spare.

Aiden Markram's side topped Group D, completing comfortable wins over Canada (57 runs), New Zealand (seven wickets), and UAE (six wickets) but had to come through not one but two super overs against Afghanistan.

In the Super 8s, they hammered India by 76 runs before chasing 177 with nine wickets and 23 balls to spare against West Indies.

Zimbabwe were the surprise table-toppers in Group B, beating Oman (eight wickets), Australia (23 runs), and Sri Lanka (six wickets) and having their meeting with Ireland washed out.

However, they've come back to down to earth with a bump in the Super 8s, leaking more than 250 in heavy defeats to both West Indies and India.

Zimbabwe have never beaten South Africa in a T20I, losing all seven of their completed meetings.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram: "We would've batted as well. The wicket looks pretty good. We've been happy to chase so far so we thought it would be a nice exercise to bat but if the boys can start well with the ball and give us a target to chase.

"To continue doing the good things. The games come quickly and you don't want to give yourself issues going into the business end of the competition. Take some momentum going forward."

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza: "We're going to have a bat first. It's a day game and unfortunately with injuries, we've gone with a line-up that suits our bowling, so we've decided to bat first.

"Richard Ngarava has a lower back issue, we cannot risk that. Tashinga Musekiwa has done his ankle. And there's a tactical change with Tinotenda Maposa missing out.

"Sri Lanka served us really well. What I can tell you is even though the last two games we were battered, the lessons we've learned, we've seen the reality of what we need to do, how we need to be better so we can be a mid-table team in the next 18 months.

"Hopefully we put our best foot forward and try to give the world another good game before we set off home. That's our target for today."
