  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:57 BST 17 May

    Hurst c Roderick b Drissell 24 (Lancs 225-7 v Worcs 270)

Right on the stroke of tea - Matty Hurst has to go.

Hurst goes in the twenties once more this season. He can only edge a tossed up delivery from George Drissell with the under side of the ball and Gareth Roderick makes a smart catch behind the stumps.

Paul Coughlin then smacks another six over square leg to the train tracks and we will have another ball change.

  2. rain stops play

Raining again at Tauntonpublished at 15:57 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 155-3

It's a long tea break here. More cake anyone?

  3. Postpublished at 15:57 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 54-3

Ed Barnard draws the inside edge as Ben Kellaway shows another little lapse of concentration in what has been a patient knock.

A single apiece for him and Colin Ingram takes the partnership up to 41.

  4. Postpublished at 15:56 BST 17 May

    Essex 85-3 - target 101

We are going to see few overs of spin before the end arrives.

Ajaz Patel cramps Matt Critchley for room with his first delivery and there is no run there.

  5. Postpublished at 15:56 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 194-9

Harry Brook bowls a bouncer! Not quite the pace of a Curtly Ambrose but not a bad effort either.

Matthew Fisher ducks out the way of it expertly.

  6. Postpublished at 15:54 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 53-3

Having mistimed an attempted drive for four, Ben Kellaway rediscovers his timing as he drives Beau Webster square for two.

Jordan Thompson slips onto his backside in fielding the ball.

A nice final ball of the over then almost does the trick as it draws a false shot from Kellaway.

He so nearly tickled that through to Alex Davies.

  7. 6 runs

Postpublished at 15:53 BST 17 May

    Lancs 219-6 v Worcs 270

Paul Coughlin picks this one up beautifully off his toes and sends the ball over the deep square leg fielder for six - straight on to the train tracks outside the ground at Southport.

Have some of that! Coughlin moves to 21 out off 17.

  8. Postpublished at 15:53 BST 17 May

    Essex 80-3 - target 101

Ben Mike doesn't learn the lesson and Matt Critchley cuts another loose delivery for four. Critchley and Charlie Allison now have a 50 partnership and will be looking to see this one through to the finish.

  9. Postpublished at 15:51 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 189-9

This is becoming a nuisance for Yorkshire - they would have hoped to have found the last wicket by now, and certainly before tea, but Matthew Fisher and Dan Worrall will not be moved.

Worrall plays into the off side and it goes aerial but it lands short of third man on the boundary for a single.

  10. Postpublished at 15:50 BST 17 May

    Middx 177 & 200-5 v Derbys 376

    Three in one.

Middlesex clear the first-innings deficit, reach 200 and Harry Duke gets off the mark as he square cuts Martin Andersson for four.

The home side are now one run in front, but half of their wickets are gone.

  11. 50 runs

50 up for Glamorganpublished at 15:49 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 50-3

A Ben Kellaway single off Ed Barnard takes Glamorgan to exactly 50 and the lead to 158.

Otherwise a tight over from the all-rounder.

In other news, the sun is shining but the groundstaff are hovering near the covers. What do they know?

  12. Northants set target of 249published at 15:47 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 221 v Northants 127 & 0-0 - tea

    Ed Seabourne
    Commentator on BBC Radio Bristol

"It remains to be seen whether that's enough."

  13. 200 runs

200 up for Lancashirepublished at 15:46 BST 17 May

    Lancs 205-6 v Worcs 270

Paul Coughlin hits back-to-back boundaries as Lancashire move past the 200 mark.

They will be disappointed with their afternoon session but are still capable of picking up a first-innings lead.

  14. GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 221 - AND TEApublished at 15:46 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 221 v Northants 127 - target 249

Leg spinner Calvin Harrison has been brought back into the attack and he wraps up the innings second ball.

Matt Taylor misses with a slog to leg and is bowled for an enterprising 18.

The chase is on - in 20 minutes.

  15. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 17 May

Ben Mike drops short and Matt Critchley puts it away for four with a whirling square cut. Only 29 more needed now.

  16. rain stops play

Rain stops play and Tea at the Utilita Bowlpublished at 15:45 BST 17 May

    Hants 214 & 36-3 v Notts 229

Fergus O'Neill holds his head as he takes the outside edge of Tom Prest's bat but it drops short of Sam Seecharan at third slip.

He then wraps the pad of the Hampshire number five but it's only a half-appeal.

And then we're off! The umpires call on the hover cover as a rain shower moves across the ground.

We'll take an early tea in Southampton.

  17. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:43 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 155-3

Early tea at Taunton following the rain delay.

No resumption time yet but the covers are coming off and the rain has stopped.

  18. Postpublished at 15:43 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 48-3

Ed Barnard into the attack with two slips as Warwickshire give Ethan Bamber and Oliver Hannon-Dalby a breather.

Colin Ingram runs through for a leg bye and Ben Kellaway takes a single in an unusually quiet over in the context of this session.

  19. Postpublished at 15:42 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 221-9 v Northants 127

Gloucestershire lead by 243 now. Just one slip for Luke Procter now and a lot more protection on the boundary.

Matt Taylor drops a fairly short ball into the off side for one.

Now we have three slips in for Gabe Bell, who clips a leg stump ball away for four.

Bell ducks under a bouncer and Gloucestershire are holding on.

  20. Postpublished at 15:42 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 187-9

Harry Brook is into the attack for Yorkshire for a bit of medium pace before tea.

With the last ball of the over, he gets one to jag back in, and it catches out Dan Worrall but Worrall manages to get a bit of bat on it otherwise it would have been plumb LBW.

    A maiden for Brook.
