  1. Surrey start second-inningspublished at 16:24 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 204 & 4-0 f/o

Rory Burns was dismissed with a brutal delivery from Jhye Richardson earlier today and he walks to the crease with Dom Sibley for a second time today.

Burns flashes at one well outside off stump and Harry Brook gets fingertips to it but can't prevent the boundary - very harsh to call that a dropped catch but he did get a touch to it at second slip.

  2. Postpublished at 16:21 BST 17 May

Northants 18-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Luke Procter strokes Will Williams into the off side and the ball is stopped by Graeme Van Buuren.

A bit more width outside off now and Procter is in leave mode.

The ground is bathed in sunshine - at least for now.

Procter drives the last ball of the over through long off for four.

  3. YORKSHIRE ENFORCE SURREY TO FOLLOW-ONpublished at 16:18 BST 17 May

    Yorks 486 v Surrey 204 & 0-0

Perhaps unsurprisingly with rain expected later and at some stages tomorrow, Yorkshire have enforced the follow-on.

Surrey remain 282 runs behind with a maximum of 45 overs left in the day.

  4. Postpublished at 16:17 BST 17 May

Northants 14-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Has Calvin Harrison been caught on the inside edge by the keeper first ball?

Gabe Bell and his team mates think so. The umpire thinks not.

That looked to have brushed the top of the pad only.

Harrison is off the mark second ball with a four flicked to square leg.

  5. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:15 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 73-3

A single off Beau Webster's sixth over and that is tea.

A good recovery from Colin Ingram (26) and Ben Kellaway (31) who have put on an unbroken stand of 60.

Prior to that three wickets in a high quality spell from Ethan Bamber had left Glamorgan in trouble at 13-3, leading by 121.

The visitors now in good shape with a lead of 181 and seven wickets in hand.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:14 BST 17 May

Vasconcelos LBW b Bell 2 (Northants 10-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Ricardo Vasconcelos holds the pose as he tries to defend on the front foot.

Striking the pad in front of middle and off. Did it pitch in line?

The umpire raises his finger and Gabe Bell strikes in his second over.

Northants number three Calvin Harrison is in early - on a king pair to this bowler.

  7. No play at Beckenhampublished at 16:12 BST 17 May

    Kent 523 v Durham 173-5

The umpires decide there can be no play today following a 16:00 inspection at Beckenham.

As BBC Newcastle's Martin Emmerson told you earlier, overnight rain seeped under the covers, leaving a damp patch on the wicket and despite the best efforts of groundstaff, they could not dry it out sufficiently to satisfy the match officials.

Durham will resume - hopefully - tomorrow morning, with David Bedingham 72 not out and Ben Stokes on eight, and will need to bat with some care to avoid losing early wickets which could result in some final-day anxiety.

  8. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 72-3

The luckless Ed Barnard gets some late away swing and goes past the outside edge of Ben Kellaway's bat as the batter defends.

Colin Ingram drives the final ball of the over down the ground for four and moves to 26 - lovely shot.

    We'll have one more over.

    Essex 293 & 104-3 v Leicestershire 333 & 60

Charlie Allison and Matt CritchleyImage source, Shutterstock

A full-length ball from Rishi Patel is steered to the cover boundary by Matt Critchley and Essex complete their third win of the season after an astonishing day's play at Chelmsford.

The home side began the day on 281-8 in their first innings, added another 12 runs to trail by 40 and then bowled out Leicestershire in just 27.4 overs, with seamers Shane Snater and Sam Cook taking four wickets each.

Facing a target of 101, they slumped from 25-0 to 27-3 but Critchley (40*) and Charlie Allison (34*) saw them home with a stand of 77.

Essex take 20 points to draw level with leaders Notts, pending the outcome of other games, while winless Leicestershire take five points as they reflect on a fourth defeat in six games.

  10. Postpublished at 16:11 BST 17 May

Northants 10-0 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Northants captain Luke Procter opens his account second ball with a drive down the ground for four off Will Williams.

Three slips in for the New Zealand bowler, who pushes the ball a touch wider outside off and Procter leaves it alone.

The sixth ball is steered safely wide of the slips for four.

  11. INSPECTION DUE AT TAUNTONpublished at 16:09 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 155-3

It's been hit and miss here as the weather has fluctuated between promising and poor this afternoon.

As it stands the umpires will inspect the square at 1615 BST.

  12. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:08 BST 17 May

    Middx 177 & 209-5 v Derbyshire 376

Middlesex reach tea with a 10-run lead after the double blow of losing Leus du Plooy and Caleb Falconer following their 107-run stand.

There are still 41 overs scheduled in the day and Derbyshire, at the very least, will be hoping to pick up another three or four wickets before the close.

If they can wrap the innings up quickly, though, the prospect of a three-day victory remains.

  13. Postpublished at 16:08 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 67-3

A thick outside edge from Ben Kellaway goes through the vacant gully region and runs for four.

Another good delivery, but no luck for Ed Barnard.

In the next over, Kellaway guides Beau Webster into the offside for two more to go to 29 and building ominously as far as home hopes are concerned.

  14. Tea at Southportpublished at 16:07 BST 17 May

    Lancs 231-7 v Worcs 270

Lancashire trail by 39 with three wickets remaining as tea is taken at Southport.

The hosts have picked up 106 runs but have lost five wickets in a session that belongs to Worcestershire.

In theory, we still have 36 overs remaining in the day, but there may be a bit of rain on it's way which would reduce that figure.

Paul Coughlin will return to the crease alongside Tom Hartley.

  15. Postpublished at 16:07 BST 17 May

Northants 2-0 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

46 overs in this session - which feels a bit optimistic.

Two slips and a gully in play.

Gabe Bell is leg side to Ricardo Vasconcelos, who follows the ball and misses it.

Bell adjusts his line and Vasco defends. The left-hander is off the mark sixth ball with a drive through mid off.

  16. The chase is on at Bristolpublished at 16:03 BST 17 May

Northants 0-0 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

The umpires are in the middle and the players are making their way on to the field.

Is this a par score or a bit more? Run scoring has seldom looked easy - but there was definitely more fluency with the bat when Cameron Bancroft and James Bracey were in the middle.

Ricardo Vasconcelos and Northants captain Luke Procter will start the chase.

Gabe Bell to bowl to Vasconcelos.

WICKET - SURREY ALL OUT FOR 204published at 16:02 BST 17 May

    Worrall c Bairstow b Cliff 13 (Yorks 486 v Surrey 204)

Moments after surpassing 200, Surrey are all out! They trail by 282 and can now be asked by Yorkshire to follow on.

There's slight confusion in the end as it looks like the umpire calls over but Dan Worrall gets a feather to nick behind to Jonny Bairstow and Surrey's first innings ends. The tail played well as the visitors were at one stage 93-7.

It is now in the hands of Yorkshire captain Bairstow whether they want to put Surrey back in after tea with weather remaining unpredictable for the rest of the game.

  18. Postpublished at 16:01 BST 17 May

    Essex 91-3 - target 101

Ben Mike tries to dig one into the ribs of Charlie Allison, but the line isn't quite right and the Essex batter swivels to pull it away fine for four. Only 10 more needed.

  19. Postpublished at 16:00 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 59-3

Another play and miss from Ben Kellaway as Beau Webster continues.

The 22-year-old responds with a textbook cover drive for four to go to 21.

Webster is getting some nice shape, but remains wicketless.

    Ten minutes until tea.
