    Hants 214 & 28-2 v Notts 229

Jake Lehmann nudges Fergus O'Neill into the offside and sets off for a quick single.

He has to hurry through and, fortunately for him, the underarm throw narrowly misses the stumps.

A run out is the last thing Hampshire need. And that's an understatement.

    Lancs 183-5 v Worcs 270

A straight drive from Chris Green has just enough on it to run down to the long on boundary as the Australian right-hander moves onto 15 not out.

    Lancashire's deficit is now 87.

  3. Postpublished at 15:22 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 187-8 v Northants 127

Two vital wickets for James Sales, who also dispatched Cameron Bancroft.

Matt Taylor drives Sales through extra cover to get off the mark with a three.

Sales digs in back of a length again and Boorman moves out of the way as the ball whizzes past his shoulder.

    Van Buuren b Sales 3 (Gloucs 154 & 184-8 v Northants 127)

A sharp delivery from James Sales, who gets a ball to take off back of a length and fizz past the nose of Graeme Van Buuren.

Out! Back of a length outside off and GVB has chopped the ball into his leg stump.

Northants are nearly through Gloucestershire, who already have a more than useful lead.

    Matt Taylor to bat next.

    Essex 40-3 - target 101

Too full from Ben Green, who is into the eighth over of this spell, and Matt Critchley cover drives for four to open his account.

The Leicestershire all-rounder has 1-19 after that one.

  6. wicket

    Abbott c Root b Revis 56 (Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 176-9)

A beauty of a delivery from Matthew Revis and that is the end of Sean Abbott's fine knock.

Lovely length from Revis and this one moves away from Abbott who edges to Joe Root at first slip.

Safe hands from the ex-England captain. Dan Worrall is last man in for Surrey.

    Surrey still trail by 310.

  7. Postpublished at 15:16 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 184-7 v Northants 127

Another in-swinger from Luke Procter and Graeme Van Buuren pushes the ball away leg side for one.

GVB and Tommy Boorman trade singles - and a short, leg side ball is glanced fine by Boorman for four.

Still three slips in for Procter, who remains on the attack despite the flow of runs.

    The lead is 211.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:16 BST 17 May

    Gubbins c Verreynne b Stone 11 (Hants 214 & 26-2 v Notts 229)

Olly Stone in for his second over as Notts look to break the resistance of Fletcha Middleton (6) and Nick Gubbins (11).

    And there it is!

Gubbins looks to pull Stone into the legside but instead gloves it through to wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne.

He thumps his pad with bat in utter frustration and both openers are back in the hutch with just a slender 11-run lead.

Jake Lehmann joins Middleton in the middle.

  9. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 17 May

    Essex 36-3 - target 101

Josh Hull is trying to get the ball to swing back into the right-handers but that one is too wide and Charlie Allison square drives for four.

He played that well away from his body but connected with the middle of the bat. He is 10 not out.

The dark clouds which helped Essex this morning are now in residence above the ground again.

  10. Postpublished at 15:14 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 176-8

Jack White (0-32 off 10 overs) is back into the attack for Yorkshire and he has two shouts for lbw with his third and final deliveries but they both look to be going down.

    A maiden.

  11. Gloucestershire lead passes 200 at Bristolpublished at 15:12 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 177-7 v Northants 127

Graeme Van Buuren of course would not normally be in as low as nine but we did have a couple of night watchers in last night.

    Yes, two of them.

He's off the mark first ball to the leg side and Tommy Boorman gets two to take the lead to 200 in the 60th over.

Four runs whipped away through mid wicket. 204 ahead.

  12. Prospects look glum in Beckenhampublished at 15:12 BST 17 May

    Kent 523 v Durham 173-5 - start delayed

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It's a pleasant afternoon in Beckenham but we haven't seen any cricket today and I am not sure we will.

Rain got under the covers overnight and there is a wet patch on the pitch, right on a length at the City End of the ground.

Despite the sun and the breeze, it hasn't really changed much. They have even tried drying it with a leaf blower, but to no avail.

Umpires Mark Newell and Ben Peverall have carried out a number of hourly inspections and the next one will be at 16:00.

It's frustrating for everyone here, not least Kent, who have been on top for the first two days. But Durham know less time spent out in the middle is certainly a benefit to them.

The weather forecast tomorrow suggests a 60% chance of rain throughout the afternoon. But it has been like that for the previous three days and most of it never materialised.

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 17-3

Oliver Hannon-Dalby then appeals as he swings a full ball low onto the pads of Ben Kellaway.

That one swung a lot. Too much in fact - it would have missed leg stump.

Kellaway avoids becoming the third Glamorgan batter to fall for a duck.

  14. wicket

    Bancroft LBW b Sales 82 (Gloucs 154 & 170-7 v Northants 127)

James Sales is back of a length to Cam Bancroft, who taps the ball through cover on the back foot for two.

Out! Bancroft is across his stumps and pinned in front of middle.

Crucial breakthrough and a fine innings is over.

The number nine is Graeme Van Buuren.

  15. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 17 May

    Essex 32-3 - target 101

Shot of the innings so far from Charlie Allison, who drives Ben Green to extra cover for four.

Allison made an impressive 72 in the first innings and Essex need another healthy contribution from him now.

He runs the next ball down to third man for a single.

  16. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 168-6 v Northants 127

Still plenty of shape into off stump for Luke Procter, who has three slips and a backward square leg in play.

Tommy Boorman opts against playing the short ball.

A wide ball outside off stump is laced through extra cover for four.

    Westley c Holland b Hull 1 (Essex 27-3 - target 101)

What was Essex's captain thinking there?

Tom Westley tries to pull a ball from outside off stump and spoons up an easy catch to mid-on.

Just three runs in the game for him. No wonder he smacks his bat against his pad before walking off.

Two wickets for Josh Hull now.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Sean Abbottpublished at 15:04 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 167-8

A quick fire 50 for Sean Abbott off just 53 deliveries.

Abbott has hit five fours and two sixes with a very good knock as Surrey look to hang on and withstand the follow-on as long as they can.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:04 BST 17 May

    Tribe c Hain b Bamber 13 (Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 13-3)

Glamorgan are in a spot of bother.

Ethan Bamber continues to find that nagging length and draws another batter to drive and edge. Opener Asa Tribe falls.

A thick outside edge flies head-height to Sam Hain at first slip. He parries it up into the air and then turns to retrieve the ball at the second attempt.

Smart cricket from bowler and fielder. A third wicket for Bamber.

  20. Postpublished at 15:03 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 164-6 v Northants 127

James Sales replaces Harry Conway in the attack.

He starts with a wide full toss and Tommy Boorman has clothed it albeit safely to mid off. A surprise delivery perhaps.

Boorman cuts a back of a length ball to deep backward point for four.

Cameron Bancroft is struck on the pad and the LBW shout is turned down - and sadly for Bancroft that ball deflected off the pad and into the area one might describe as "amidships".

He recovers sufficiently to drill the last ball through extra cover for four.
