Ryan Higgins dabs Nick Potts down to third man for four.

Middlesex are 36 ahead - but a new ball is due in six overs.

Get Involvedpublished at 16:41 BST 17 May

“Water got under the covers” overnight at Beckenham. A professional cricket club couldn’t protect the one piece of grass they were trying to protect; in fact they made it much worse. So no cricket is played on a rainless day. Kent should be apologising to all spectators.

  4. Postpublished at 16:40 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 75-3

Ben Kellaway gets up and running after tea with a single off Nathan Gilchrist's first over.

Almost curtains for Colin Ingram as he almost chops on, but the inside edge evades the stumps and he picks up one.

Ethan Bamber returns for his second spell Can he make more inroads?

  5. Postpublished at 16:40 BST 17 May

Northants 33-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

The ball plugs a little after Calvin Harrison clips Gabe Bell through the leg side but there's enough momentum on the ball to roll over for four.

Another leg stump ball is turned to deep backward square for one and Harrison is scoring at nearly a run a ball this afternoon. 18 off 19.

    Has this wicket settled down?

  9. Postpublished at 16:37 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 204 & 9-0 f/o

Wow - what a leave on length by Dom Sibley.

This one nips back on him massively. Good bowling from Jhye Richardson as Sibley looks back and is relieved to see all three of his stumps are still in tact.

  10. Postpublished at 16:36 BST 17 May

Northants 26-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Matt Taylor is in the attack - no doubt full of confidence after his five wicket haul in the first innings, plus a few lusty blows with the bat this afternoon.

Luke Procter drives sweetly but the ball is stopped by Graeme Van Buuren at mid off.

A full ball is dug out and pushed to mid on. Maiden over.

  11. Evening session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 16:35 BST 17 May

    Warks 252 v Glam 360 & 73-3

Warwickshire began the afternoon session like an express train, taking three wickets for one run.

And they will need more fireworks after an excellent recovery job by Ben Kellaway and Colin Ingram nursed them to a 181-run lead.

The sun is still shining over this part of Birmingham, but there are filthy-looking clouds all around.

Paceman Nathan Gilchrist is to open up with his first burst of the second innings.

  12. Postpublished at 16:33 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 204 & 8-0 f/o

Dom Sibley's bat handle has completely broken and we will need a replacement early on in the second innings here.

Lovely shot from Harry Duke, clipping a leg side ball from Matt Potts through mid on for four.

  16. Postpublished at 16:28 BST 17 May

Northants 22-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Calvin Harrison moves to seven with two stroked to mid on facing Will Williams.

Williams drifts into leg and Harrison gets a single to fine leg.

Williams is round the wicket now and Procter leaves a wide ball and a straighter ball is left on length.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Southportpublished at 16:26 BST 17 May

    Lancs 231-7 v Worcs 280

We will have a delay to the restart after tea due to some rain in Southport.

That should only be a short one though as the covers look to be coming off once more.

  18. FURTHER INSPECTION AT TAUNTONpublished at 16:26 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 155-3

More inspections than we'd get from Inspector Gadget here.

This one is earmarked for 1630 BST.

  19. Brook leaves field with finger injurypublished at 16:26 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 204 & 4-0 f/o

Harry Brook has raced straight off the field after attempting to take that catch in the slips and that is a concern for the Yorkshire and England man.

  20. Postpublished at 16:25 BST 17 May

Northants 19-1 (target - 249 to beat Gloucs)

Four slips and a short leg in for Calvin Harrison - who is squared up as he plays the ball back to bowler Gabe Bell.

The Tasmanian drifts to leg stump and Harrison takes a single to fine leg.

Luke Procter defends down the ground to see out the over.
