    Nick KellyImage source, Shutterstock

Shane Snater gets in on the act as Nick Kelly is brilliantly caught one-handed at second slip by Simon Harmer.

Quite an introduction to county cricket for Kelly - he faces 20 balls, doesn't score a single run and is now gone.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 BST 17 May

    James c Wheal b Baker 6 (Hants 214 v Notts 163-7)

More joy for England new boy Sonny Baker.

Lyndon James is tempted to pull the short ball from Baker but miscues.

Brad Wheal has to backtrack towards the rope and takes a brilliant two-handed catch, above his head, on the fine leg boundary.

Fergus O'Neill, who took a five-for in the Hants innings, joins Liam Patterson-White (8).

    Lancs 77-2 v Worcs 270

Harry Singh has played a couple of nice shots into the off side to the boundary to move onto 10 not out.

Keaton Jennings is unbeaten on 31 not out at the other end. He will be seen as the key man for Worcestershire right now.

Lancashire have been more attacking in the past 20 minutes than in the opening hour.

  4. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 58-5 v Northants 127

Frustration for Harry Conway who thinks he's got Cameron Bancroft caught behind.

    The umpire says no.

Three slips and a leg slip in for Conway as Bancroft raises his bat in an exaggerated leave outside the off stump.

A half volley is drilled through extra cover for four.

    Holland c Pepper b Cook 12 (Essex 293 v Leics 333 & 25-3)

    Sam CookImage source, Shutterstock

Essex very much calling the shots at Chelmsford.

A fine ball from Sam Cook takes the shoulder of Ian Holland's bat, it's a straightforward catch behind and Leicestershire are three down with a lead of 65.

This is a really challenging spell from Cook. Decent pace and movement - a potent combination.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:19 BST 17 May

    Bamber c Norton b Kellaway 46 (Warks 220-8 v Glam 360)

    What a shame!

Ethan Bamber is just four away from reaching 50 for the second time in first-class cricket and looks to get there in one blow.

The number nine aims to clear deep mid-wicket but it flies high in the air and drops to Tom Norton at deep long on.

    Poor shot but brilliant innings.

Nathan Gilchrist joins Jordan Thompson who has 36.

  7. Postpublished at 12:19 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 51-5 v Northants 127

James Bracey is forward to Luke Procter with a clip through the on side for three - and that's the innings 50 in the 28th over.

    The lead is 78.

  8. Latest from Beckenhampublished at 12:19 BST 17 May

    Kent 523 v Durham 173-5

The umpires have taken a look and decided that there will be an early lunch at 12:30. David Bedingham is waiting to resume on 72 not out, and Ben Stokes has eight.

Rain stops play at Headingleypublished at 12:18 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 65-3

A shame for the Yorkshire bowling attack who have been excellent this morning - we are off for rain for the time being at Headingley.

  10. Postpublished at 12:17 BST 17 May

    Middx 177 & 51-2 v Derbys 376

Middlesex finally reach 50 in the 24th over of their second innings as Max Holden makes no contact with an attempted square cut off Nick Potts, but it's called a no-ball.

  11. Postpublished at 12:16 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 89-2

Reverse sweep from Tom Clark off Jack Leach and the ball beats Craig Overton to the fence for four runs.

He's getting his steps in today!

Nine runs off the over in total.

  12. Warwickshire avoid the follow-onpublished at 12:15 BST 17 May

    Warks 219-7 v Glam 360

And the Bears do it in style.

Zain-ul-Hassan is back into the attack and Ethan Bamber continues in attack mode, launching a straight drive back over the bowler's head for his third six. Bamber goes to 46.

The spin of Ben Kellaway is introduced at the other end and drops his first ball short.

Jordan Thompson pounces and hammers it for six over mid-wicket.

Very much a limited overs feel here.

  13. Postpublished at 12:15 BST 17 May

    Essex 293 v Leics 333 & 25-2

The really dark clouds have now blown away and that's a great piece of timing by Ian Holland as he cuts Shane Snater through backward point for four.

Nick Kelly defends the final ball of the over - the New Zealander has faced 16 so far and has yet to score his first run for Leicestershire.

  14. Postpublished at 12:14 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 48-5 v Northants 127

Ben Sanderson is out of the attack for now and Harry Conway switches ends - for a spell at the Pavilion End.

Three slips in, plus a deep point and backward point for James Bracey.

Bracey turns the fifth ball away to long leg for one.

A couple for Cameron Bancroft worked through mid wicket. 75 ahead.

  15. wicket

    Bohannon c Hose b Waite 12 (Lancs 60-2 v Worcs 270)

Josh Bohannon's struggles at number three continue - he has to go for 12.

A bit of extra bounce does for Bohannon here, he can only edge to first slip where Adam Hose makes a comfortable take.

Good bowing from Matthew Waite who has nibbled away nicely this morning. With Marcus Harris absent, Harry Singh walks out at four.

  16. Postpublished at 12:10 BST 17 May

    Warks 206-7 v Glam 360

Ominous news here as the umpires call for the groundstaff to ready the hovercover.

We're staying out there, though, and to the next ball, Jordan Thompson turns Timm van der Gugten off his hip to the short boundary as this pair carry on their merry way.

Thompson then just makes it home after another harum-scarum call to go to 28.

Five more needed to evade the follow-on mark.

  17. Postpublished at 12:08 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 80-2

A flashing drive through the covers from Dan Hughes for four runs off the bowling of Alfie Ogborne.

The Aussie left-hander moves on to 41.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:08 BST 17 May

    Smith c Hill b Revis 4 (Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 65-3).

Surrey have a problem now - Jamie Smith is caught on the drive for just four.

It's a great bit of bowling from Matthew Revis, who gets the big wicket of the England wicket-keeper.

This one swings away at Smith at the last moment and finds the outside edge.

George Hill takes a great catch at third slip to his right. Dan Lawrence walks to the crease for the visitors.

  19. 150 runs

150 up for Nottspublished at 12:07 BST 17 May

    Hants 214 v Notts 152-6

A Delano Potgieter no-ball brings up the 150 for Nottinghamshire but it's come at some cost this morning.

A first innings lead still looks some way off.

Liam Patterson-White then gets off the mark with a single to his 10th ball.

  20. Postpublished at 12:05 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 43-5 v Northants 127

A touch leg side from Ben Sanderson and James Bracey tucks the ball away fine for a precious four.

That takes the lead to 70.
