WICKETpublished at 15:52 BST 19 April

    Barnard c Walter b Snater 17 (Warks 94-5 v Essex - lead by 79)

    Big wicket!

Shane Snater gets a nasty one to climb and take the glove of Ed Barnard.

It loops up to third slip where Paul Walter gets down well to take a good catch.

The Bears look in real trouble now approaching tea.

  2. Postpublished at 15:52 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 4-0 (target 287)

After leaving a good delivery by Kyle Abbott to kick us off, Archie Vaughan glances one to the third leg boundary to get Somerset's run chase under way.

  3. Play resumes at Southamptonpublished at 15:50 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 0-0 (target 287)

Play resumes after tea for the fourth and final innings at the Utilita Bowl.

  4. 'Sales has had to battle hard'published at 15:48 BST 19 April

    Northants 409 v Middlesex 341

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

I think they've rather exceeded expectations.

At 290-7 we were thinking can Northamptonshire get the second batting point, they've ended up with four and James Sales has played a career-best innings of 164.

He had to battle this morning really hard and he acknowledges the applause.

Runs for James Sales always go down very well with the Northamptonshire faithful being a local boy.

  5. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 19 April

    Warks 87-4 v Essex - lead by 72

Ed Barnard drives superbly through the gap between cover and mid-off for his second boundary of Sam Cook's eighth over.

It comes just a ball after Barnard almost trod on his own stumps, sparking memories of Shane Warne at this very ground in THAT 2005 Ashes test.

    The lead climbs to 72.

  6. 250 runs

250 up for Gloucestershirepublished at 15:43 BST 19 April

Gloucs 250-4 v Lancs (lead by 146 runs)

James Bracey - now in the nervy 90's - rocks back and finds the fielder backward of square for a single to move Gloucestershire onto 250.

It is unclear how or where Lancashire will find just their second wicket of the day at the moment.

  7. NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 409published at 15:41 BST 19 April

    Sales c b Higgins 164 Northants 409 v Middlesex 341

James Scales' brilliant innings finally comes to an end as the hosts take a 68-run lead on first innings.

He looks to hoik Ryan Higgins down the ground, but instead holes out to Leus du Plooy at long off.

Sales' 265-ball knock ends on 165 - his first-class best - with 24 boundaries and two maximums.

Is there time for a result? The home side will need quick wickets you'd think.

  8. 'Somerset batting anything but easy'published at 15:37 BST 19 April

I think they've bowled very well Somerset all through the day.

They've put the pressure on, they've kept the batsmen reasonably quiet and this afternoon Lewis Gregory was absolutely superb on a pitch not offering much but it's still doing a bit.

That's going to make Somerset's task of chasing 287 anything but easy.

Good bowling from Archie Vaughan as well.

  9. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 15:35 BST 19 April

    Hants 336 v Somerset - lead by 286

An early tea will be taken at the Utilita Bowl.

We will be with you in approximately 20 minutes for the final innings on the South Coast.

  10. wicket

HAMPSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 336published at 15:31 BST 19 April

    Baker lbw b Gregory 4 (Hants 336-10 v Somerset)

Five-for Somerset captain Lewis Gregory! Hampshire are all out for 336 so Somerset need 287 runs to win!

Gregory has been excellent after lunch - he ends with 5-42 off 17 overs in total.

Hampshire's last wicket sees Sonny Baker miss a full delivery and it looks to be clipping middle and leg.

Somerset face a tricky chase - but have given themselves an excellent chance following a terrific last couple of hours.

    We will now take tea.

  11. Postpublished at 15:31 BST 19 April

    Warks 72-4 v Essex - lead by 57

Beau Webster flicks off his pads through midwicket off Shane Snater to pick up an eighth boundary.

A single moves him to 40 off just 33 balls.

A nervy moment for Ed Barnard as he's almost strangled down the legside fencing at a wide Snater delivery, but fortunately for the Bers skipper, he misses.

  12. Fourth batting point for Northantspublished at 15:26 BST 19 April

    Northants 400-9 v Middlesex 341

James Sales carves Toby Roland-Jones through the offside for his 23rd boundary to bring up the 400 and another bonus point.

The lead is up to 59.

  13. 'Superb bowling'published at 15:26 BST 19 April

    Hants 238 & 335-9 v Somerset 288

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was almost identical to the ball before last, the one that just missed the off-stump.

    Superb bowling.

That's an important wicket for Somerset because Eddie Jack batted really well in the Hampshire first innings and was coping pretty well.

  14. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 15:25 BST 19 April

    Gloucs 230-4 v Lancs - lead by 126 runs

50 partnership between Tommy Boorman and James Bracey.

The two middle-order batters have steadied the ship for Gloucestershire after Miles Hammond's dismissal.

  15. 150 runs

150 for James Salespublished at 15:22 BST 19 April

    Northants 393-9 v Middlesex 341

Luke Hollman in and James Sales slog sweeps his first ball for six.

He repeats the trick three balls later and pulls him over the rope for six more to bring up a superb 150 and move the hosts within seven of another point.

    Wonderful stuff!

  16. 'Timing proving difficult'published at 15:21 BST 19 April

    Warks 190 & 67-4 v Essex 205

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

That's four batters now who have gone out in that sort of manner.

You just wonder if the timing's proving difficult because he's [Yates] hit that in the air into the covers.

He looked to be building an innings there and then gets out in what he must think is a really soft manner.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:20 BST 19 April

    Jack b Gregory 2 (Hants 326-9 v Somerset - lead by 276 runs)

    This is an absolute beauty!

Superb, consistent line and length bowling from Lewis Gregory who now has four-for.

After shaping up Eddie Jack with his previous delivery, he beats the outside edge once more, but this time clips the top of off-stump.

He sensed Jack was uncomfortable and capitalised on it.

Last man in for Hampshire, Sonny Baker. The lead is 276.

  18. Postpublished at 15:18 BST 19 April

    Hants 326-8 v Somerset - lead by 276 runs

Codi Yusuf has done well since coming to crease and has moved onto 14 off 39 balls.

Lewis Gregory goes around the wicket to Eddie Jack and shapes him up nicely but misses the outside edge by a whisker.

  19. Postpublished at 15:17 BST 19 April

Gloucs 220-4 v Lancs (lead by 116 runs)

James Bracey paddle sweeps Arav Shetty's loose delivery down to the fine leg boundary to move onto 79 not out for Gloucestershire.

We have not had a boundary for a while but that was a confident stroke from the wicket-keeper batsman.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:16 BST 19 April

    Yates c Allison b Snater 22 (Warks 58-4 v Essex - lead by 43)

    That's a bit soft.

Rob Yates looks to attack but doesn't really commit and drives it straight to Charlie Allison at cover for a routine catch.

A handy stand of 44 runs is broken.

Ed Barnard joins Beau Webster who has raced to 34.
