Gloucs 197-4 v Lancs (lead by 93 runs)

James Anderson continues to race in for Lancashire but can't get the break through as his over goes for three runs - debutante Tommy Boorman dealt with him well there.

Paul Coughlin is currently supporting him at the other end.

    Mousley c Benkenstein b Cook 0 (Warks 14-2 v Essex - trail by 1)

    Early bother for the Bears.

Dan Mousley has to play at a straight ball from Sam Cook and drives it in the air straight to Luc Benkenstein at cover.

He is furious with himself and swipes his bat angrily.

They are still in deficit and are two wickets down. Sam Hain is back at the crease.

  3. Postpublished at 14:33 BST 19 April

    Warks 14-1 v Essex - trail by 1

Rob Yates drives but good fielding from Shane Snater prevents a run.

Jamie Porter now has a third maiden, but Yates gets through it.

Sam Cook in for his fourth over around the wicket to new batter Dan Mousley.

  4. 'Very woody in our headphones'published at 14:33 BST 19 April

    Warks 190 & 14-1 v Essex 205

    Adam Pinder-Smith
    Reporter, BBC Radio WM

I'm quite surprised Davies wasn't sure whether to go or not.

It sounded very woody in our headphones as the ball from Sam Cook found the outside edge.

  5. 300 runs

300 up for Hampshirepublished at 14:32 BST 19 April

Hants 303-6 v Somerset (lead by 253 runs)

Four byes as Kyle Abbott goes for a big swing and the ball evades James Rew behind the stumps to bring Hampshire's 300 up.

They have got there in just less than 88 overs - a decent rate of scoring by the hosts.

  6. Postpublished at 14:29 BST 19 April

Hants 297-6 v Somerset (lead by 247 runs)

    Misfield.

Archie Vaughan runs over from fine leg and looks to have stopped a certain boundary as Kyle Abbott takes on a short ball but can only parry the ball over the rope for four.

    Hampshire's lead nears 250.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:28 BST 19 April

    Davies c Harmer b Cook 5 (Warks 14-1 v Essex - trail by 1)

Alex Davies nicks a thick outside edge off Sam Cook through to Simon Harmer at second slip and his miserable match with the bat ends.

The Bears opener is not happy with the decision, but he has to go.

  8. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 19 April

    Northants 325-8 v Middlesex 341

    Shot!

Super stuff from new batter Liam Guthrie as he drives straight back past bowler Naavya Sharma for four.

Guthrie's hook two balls later is less convincing but goes for another boundary. A backfoot punch brings two more and he races to 16 off nine balls.

Just the 25 more for a third batting point.

  9. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 19 April

Gloucs 185-4 v Lancs (lead by 81 runs)

George Balderson continues to plug away and with his last delivery of the over Tommy Boorman (0 not out) confidently leaves the ball outside his off stump.

  10. 'Dawson thrashed his pad'published at 14:20 BST 19 April

    Hants 238 & 288-6 v Somerset 288

    Charlie Harden
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I was just about to mention how the hard new balls are coming off the bat well.

I thought that was sailing well over mid-on for a couple of outs more and then all of a sudden the ball was picked out mid-wicket perfectly.

Liam Dawson again yet quite to get moving in his 2026 season with the bat.

He really thrashed his pad there.

  11. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 19 April

Warks 7-0 v Essex - trail by eight

A leg glance off Sam Cook gives Rob Yates his first boundary, while Alex davies gets off a pair with a single.

More yelps from the slips as Jamie Porter completes back-to-back maidens to Davies.

The Essex is lead is down to eight.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:14 BST 19 April

    Dawson c Abell b Vaughan 10 (Hants 287-6 v Somerset - lead by 237 runs)

Archie Vaughan has done it again!

Liam Dawson dances down the track and looks to flick one over mid-wicket but instead holes out straight to Tom Abell who makes a simple catch.

A loose stroke from Dawson who had looked to attack the moment he arrived at the crease.

A good start to the second session for Somerset.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:12 BST 19 April

    Sanderson c Robson b Sharma 7 (Northants 307-8 v Middlesex 341)

Middlesex could be closing on a first innings lead now as they take the eighth Northants wicket to fall.

Naavya Sharma (3-61) has really impressed and again a nagging line forces Ben Sanderson to play and late away movement takes the edge.

Sam Robson takes a smart two-handed grab above his head.

  14. 'Lunch break very good timing for Lancs'published at 14:11 BST 19 April

    Glos 136 & 180-4 v Lancs 240

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol commentator

Hammond battled well for his 82 and he started to find some fluency at the back end of the morning session but the session break came at a very good time for Lancashire.

  15. Afternoon session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 14:09 BST 19 April

    Warks 190 & 1-0 v Essex 205

Warwickshire openers Alex Davies and Rob Yates stride to the crease to begin the second innings and the afternoon session on day three.

The hosts trail by just 15 runs.

Jamie Porter opens the bowling after taking four wickets in the Bears first knock, right arm around the wicket to Yates.

Appeal for lbw off the fifth ball but nothing much in that and they trot through for a leg bye.

Davies almost bags a king pair - after a first-ball duck in the first innings - as Poirter draws a play and miss and beats the edge.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Ben Brownpublished at 14:07 BST 19 April

Hants 278-5 v Somerset (lead by 228 runs)

50 for Ben Brown - a lovely shot into the off side for his eighth boundary of the innings.

He has taken just 75 balls to reach a half-century for the hosts.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:05 BST 19 April

    Hammond c Singh b Coughlin 82 (Gloucs 180-4 v Lancs - lead by 76)

Finally the partnership is broken and Lancashire have their first wicket of the day.

Miles Hammond looks gutted as he drags himself off the field.

He finds substitute fielder Harry Singh who makes a good catch at gully.

Tommy Boorman is in for Gloucestershire.

  18. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:03 BST 19 April

Hants 273-5 v Somerset (lead by 223 runs)

Brilliant fielding from Tom Lammonby on the leg side boundary who saves one run as Hampshire run three.

Seconds later, the stadium announcer at the Utilita Bowl informs us that a new ball has been taken by Somerset.

  19. Second batting point for Northantspublished at 14:01 BST 19 April

    Northants 300-7 v Middlesex 341

The players have lunched and we are under way in the eighth session of the match.

Naavya Sharma gets things going for Middlesex with a tidy maiden to James Sales who resumes on 114.

Ben Sanderson then chips Ryan Higgins ino the legside.

Max Holden prevents the boundary, but they run two and Northants pick up a second batting point.

  20. Postpublished at 13:59 BST 19 April

Hants 270-5 v Somerset (lead by 220 runs)

Big appeal by Archie Vaughan who strikes Ben Brown on the front pad but the latter is well outside the line of off stump.

Good stuff from Vaughan after lunch, however.
