  1. 200 runs

200 partnership for Northantspublished at 14:54 BST 10 April

    Kent v Northants 214-0

Terrific stuff from Luke Procter and Ricardo Vasconcelos as Northants push past 200 at Canterbury.

Vasconcelos was out in both innings to Jimmy Anderson last week, you can bet he is much preferring this test of his batting skills.

He has 122 and Procter is 78 not out

  2. Postpublished at 14:54 BST 10 April

    Surrey 192-2 v Leics

Two fours in two balls from Ajaz Patel for Ollie Pope as he comes down the ground and drives through the covers to the fence.

  3. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 10 April

    Surrey 188-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope barely seems to hit this from Ajaz Patel but it's all in the timing.

A half-volley down the leg side from Patel and it's easy pickings for Pope as he nudges it away to the shorter square leg boundary.

    Benkenstein b Shaw 18 (Essex 134-8 v Somerset)

Somerset might have to hurry up and sort an opening bat replacement for TKC soon or else James Rew might have to go up another spot to number two shortly!

Josh Shaw has his first wicket for Somerset.

A big chop on from Luc Benkenstein to another ball that was not hitting the stumps.

49 balls of uncomfortable batting for the young all-rounder who came in for captain Tom Westley for this match.

  5. Postpublished at 14:50 BST 10 April

    Notts 182-6 v Glamorgan

Short, wide, smashed away for four behind square on the off-side by Fergus O'Neill from Andy Gorvin and he's now just four shy of 50.

  6. Who to replace TKC as injury sub at Chelsmford?published at 14:49 BST 10 April

    Essex 134-7 v Somerset

Somerset bowling coach Steve Kirby is off to the third umpire for a conversation as Tom Kohler-Cadmore is having an x-ray on his damaged digit.

Will Smeed is still fielding in Abergavenny on day three of the match with Cardiff UCCE in which he scored 148 and then 209*.

Thomas Rew was granted three days to captain the seconds, but would probably not have seven consecutive days away from homework/revision for his A-levels next month.

Archie Vaughan is at Chelmsford, so the most likely sub in, but would not be able to bowl.

  7. wicket

    Bohannon b Bashir 73 (Lancs 157-3 v Derbys)

Shoaib Bashir cramps up Josh Bohannon who is looking to cut and the well-set Lancs batter chops it on to his stumps.

Bohannon is annoyed with himself but, if you live by the sword as he tends to, you are going to perish by it as well.

He was dropped on 28 when Martin Andersson failed to grab a very difficult chance at third slip earlier.

But he has rattled along to 73 sharing a partnership of 146 with Marcus Harris and, while he fails to convert a second half century of the campaign, he has done a decent job for his side.

    Surrey 179-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope looks down over his left shoulder having hit a shot down legsideImage source, Getty Images

It seems like a long old while ago now that Surrey skipper Rory Burns spooned to Ian Holland off Tom Scriven to make it 42-2.

We say that as Ollie Pope swats Ajaz Patel away for his 10th four of the day before picking up a single to move onto 66*.

Tough going for Leicestershire at the moment.

  9. Postpublished at 14:46 BST 10 April

    Yorks v Hants 140-4

Ben Mayes was an under-18 England hockey international and there was hint of that in this disdainful pull off his hips against Jhye Richardson.

It races to square leg and the 18-year-old follows it up with a second wider to midwicket. Two very good shots.

Harmer lbw Overton 0 (Essex 130-7 v Somerset)

Sunrisers Eastern Cape T20 teammates in the SA20 not this last, but the winter before.

And there is no love lost between men who have captained their sides multiple times against each other too.

Craig Overton is pumped up as he has two wickets in three balls, trapping Simon Harmer on the crease.

Alfie Ogborne did it last week, Jake Ball, Tom Lammonby and now Craig Overton have taken two in an over today.

Shane Snater averages 22 in first-class cricket, he hits the ball in funny areas and can be a dangerous counter-attacker, he is in at nine.

  11. Postpublished at 14:43 BST 10 April

    Notts 169-6 v Glamorgan

Glamorgan won't want to let this fantastic start to the match slip too far away from them.

Jack Haynes and Fergus O'Neill have put on 66 between them now and are just starting to steady the ship a little.

Still plenty of work to do for Notts of course.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:42 BST 10 April

    Pepper b Overton 16 (Essex 130-6 v Somerset)

16 off 22 balls is pretty fast going on this pitch, but Michael Pepper looked skittish, not in full control in this brief knock.

Just the off-bail removed as Craig Overton finally gets his reward.

He only had 1-63 in the first innings and 0-15 off four in the second last week, figures that did not state how well he bowled, often beating the bat without taking the edge.

This took the edge of the off-stump, one of the classiest ways to take a wicket.

  13. Postpublished at 14:40 BST 10 April

    Surrey 172-2 v Leics

We've got a change of ball at The Oval as there appears to be an issue with the original.

Surrey have already added 62 runs to their total since lunch. This partnership between Jamie Smith and Ollie Pope is 130.

  14. 150 runs

150 up for Lancspublished at 14:39 BST 10 April

    Lancs 152-2 v Derbys

A rare miss from Marcus Harris who lines up a defensive push and is beaten by Ben Aitchison.

Lancashire bring up the 150 next ball but it is another edge which races wide of slip to the third man boundary.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:38 BST 10 April

    Barnard b Price 18 (Sussex v Warwickshire 117-6)

Tom Price gets his second Sussex wicket.

It has been doing a bit, but that was not a special delivery.

A wild slash from Ed Barnard, an uncharacteristic really loose shot from the skipper dragging one on from outside off.

29 balls faced for his 18.

Chris Woakes and Jordan Thompson are decent numbers eight and nine though.

I hope Zak Crawley is taking notes in Kent v Northants.... his opening spot could be in danger at national level.

    Paul, Kent

Well, Northants opener Ricardo Vasconcelos has shown Crawley what is possible on this Canterbury pitch with a century.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Jack Haynespublished at 14:37 BST 10 April

    Notts 160-6 v Glamorgan

Jack Haynes hits a shot while batting for Notts against GlamorganImage source, Getty Images

Mason Crane comes into the attack for Glamorgan and Fergus O'Neill tickles his first ball into the leg side for a single.

It gives the strike to Jack Haynes who then sweeps to the square leg boundary for four.

And that brings up a half-century for Haynes who reaches his 50 from 71 balls.

  18. Postpublished at 14:36 BST 10 April

    Essex 125-5 v Somerset

    Big appeal, not given.

Craig Overton was off on a lap around Essex celebrating.

Top keeping from James Rew, but the umpire deems there to be no edge.

    Luc Benkenstein survives on 16*.

Craig Overton had a few lbws he was sure of last week turned down.

Plus had a big falling out along with most of his side when Steve O'Shaughnessy admitted he was not looking when George Balderson was run out last September do not forget, so Michael Gough might have to try to keep these two apart.

Overton is marking the umpires' cards this week again remember too!

  19. Postpublished at 14:35 BST 10 April

    Yorks v Hants 125-4

Jake Lehmann leans back and carves Jhye Richardson through backward point for four. A nice shot from a batsman for whom much is expected this season.

The son of former Aussie and now Northants coach Darren, Lehmann junior qualifies as a home grown player through his mother's UK nationality.

Hants need him to add significant ballast to their middle order and today would be a good place to start building.

  20. 150 runs

150 up for Nottspublished at 14:31 BST 10 April

    Notts 153-6 v Glamorgan

A very expensive over for Ryan Hadley as Fergus O'Neill pulls it away for four through mid-wicket.

That's 15 runs from it in the end and Notts pass the 150 mark.
