    Notts 148-6 v Glamorgan

Notts could use a bit more of this from Jack Haynes.

He flicks Ryan Hadley away for four through the leg side. Two balls later, he repeats the trick, pulling to the same area for another boundary.

This is now the best partnership of the innings (45 runs) for the hosts.

Haynes is onto 45 and Fergus O'Neill has 24.

  2. 100 runs

100 for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 14:26 BST 10 April

    Kent v Northants 176-0

Another confident shot through the legside from Ricardo Vasconcelos is enough to take him into three figures.

His first of the summer, a 10th of his first-class career and our second of today.

Vasconcelos has taken just 134 balls to get there and he has done so in fine style, setting a great platform for his side.

  3. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 10 April

    Surrey 160-2 v Leics

This sums up the day for Leicestershire so far.

Ollie Pope races through for a quick single and Ajaz Patel's throw hits Pope on the pads as he's scampering and then runs all the way for four.

    Five off the one ball.

  4. Postpublished at 14:23 BST 10 April

    Surrey 155-2 v Leics

Big shout for lbw as Ian Holland pins Ollie Pope in front. The umpire says no but that is a very close call...

Would have been very interesting to see what the technology would've told us...

Middlesex are in business again after lunch, reducing Worcestershire to 111-7. Toby Roland-Jones removed Ethan Brookes for nine off 33 balls before Matthew Waite was run out without scoring in the same over.

You can imagine the hosts will have the pads on at some point this afternoon.

    Webster c Simpson b Robinson 48 (Sussex v Warwickshire 109-5)

Two batters falling just shy of 50s in the last 20 minutes then, Charlie Allison at Chelmsford, and now Ollie Robinson wins a potential Ashes one-on-one battle over Beau Webster.

Angled in at him, a little movement away, not an expansive drive just a push, John Simpson has eaten those up for decades now.

Webster had hit him for four the previous ball.

Kai Smith, the young wicketkeeper since Michael Burgess' retirement, in at seven with the Bears needing more than double the current score for even one batting bonus point.

  7. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 10 April

    Surrey 155-2 v Leics

Blimey, Leicestershire cannot stop the onslaught at the moment.

Another four as Jamie Smith flashes hard it flies away for another four through backward point.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:21 BST 10 April

    Brown lbw b Hill 15 (Yorks v Hants 111-4)

Ben Brown has stepped across the crease and steps a little more after being hit on the pad by George Hill as he tries to fool with the umpire's mental image of that dismissal.

It does not save him and the finger goes up.

Hants are struggling against some disciplined and skilful bowling from Yorks, who have their tails up.

    Surrey are racing along now.

Jamie Smith powers through extra cover from Tom Scriven and just like that, the hosts pass 150.

  10. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 10 April

    Sussex v Warwickshire 105-4

Warwickshire pass 100 going slightly more smoothly for the away side since lunch.

Just Rob Yates' dismissal, and Beau Webster (48*) is looking more at ease since his skipper Ed Barnard joined him at the crease.

22 runs off 38 balls the current partnership between two of the best all-rounders in the County Championship.

Ollie Robinson still steaming in with 1-37 off 13 overs to his name, this could have been an Ashes 1-1 battle of course...

  11. 200 runs

200 up for Durhampublished at 14:19 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 204-0

Gloucestershire lost Josh Shaw, Ajeet Singh Dale and Tom Price over the winter and it is really showing in their bowling attack.

They are leaking at more than five an over as Durham pair Alex Lees and Ben McKinney continue to make hay.

They have motored/sauntered/cruised - pick whichever word you want to describe easy - to a stand of 200.

    Surrey 147-2 v Leics

A first 50 of the season for Ollie Pope and he hasn't wasted too much time getting there, taking just 73 balls.

  13. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 10 April

    Lancs 133-2 v Derbys

Marcus Harris is purring here and he had all the time in the world to line up Mo Abbas for a four through extra cover that demands the prefix 'elegant'.

He is on to 60 and chasing down Josh Bohannon (64), who he gave a decent start to with a watchful beginning to this innings.

  14. Postpublished at 14:18 BST 10 April

    Surrey 146-2 v Leics

Leicestershire react to that Ollie Pope boundary by taking out gully. Just the one slip in place now as they try to defend the flowing runs.

  15. Postpublished at 14:17 BST 10 April

    Surrey 146-2 v Leics

Add four more to the total. Ollie Pope gets onto the balls of his feet and punches down to the mid on boundary.

    He's onto 49*.

  16. 100 runs

    100 partnershippublished at 14:17 BST 10 April

    Surrey 142-2 v Leics

When things are going for you, they're going for you...

Jamie Smith edges through the gap between first slip and gully from Ian Holland for the second time in the past few overs.

And this time it races away to the boundary for four.

This might be stating the obvious, but Leicestershire really need a wicket to break this now 100 run partnership between Smith and Ollie Pope.

  17. Postpublished at 14:15 BST 10 April

    Notts 132-6 v Glamorgan

Timm van der Gugten is appealing for Glamorgan's seventh and his fifth wicket of the day as he catches Fergus O'Neill on the knee roll.

Too high and a nod from the umpire. Not a bad delivery from the Dutch international though. It's been a decent day at the office for him so far.

  18. Good toss to losepublished at 14:14 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 190-0

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Not sure what was behind Cameron Bancroft's decision to put Durham in this morning, but he's surely regretting that now.

This is the highest opening stand by either side in a head-to-head and beats the 119 Alex Lees put on with Michael Jones in 2023, during their last visit here.

Alex Lees has 64 and Ben McKinney 111. It's his fifth century in first-class cricket and his fourth for Durham. It included 18 fours and two sixes, with him reaching three figures from a boundary.

  19. 150 runs

150 up for Northantspublished at 14:13 BST 10 April

    Kent v Northants 159-0

Keith Dudgeon is a touch short and it sits up enough for Ricardo Vasconcelos to pull it behind square for the four to take the Northants total past 150.

Luke Procter and Vasconcelos have completely backed up the former's decision to bat first today.

  20. Postpublished at 14:12 BST 10 April

    Surrey 133-2 v Leics

Oof, you wouldn't want to be bowling to Jamie Smith when he's batting like this.

Tom Scriven over-pitches ever so slightly and Smith effortlessly drives it for four through the covers.

Just fantastic batting and he's onto 58 from 105 balls.
