  1. 50 runs

50 for Lehmannpublished at 15:16 BST 10 April

    Yorks v Hants 192-4

Yorkshire fans celebrated 43 half centuries for his father, Darren, but this time a Lehmann half-century is greeted with just mild applause at Headingley as son Jake raises his bat.

It comes with a cut to backward point from the left-hander and has taken him 65 balls and contained eight fours.

    Gloucestershire v Durham 277-0

Durham's Alex Lees and Ben McKinney have been having fun today. Other than Lees surviving a run-out on 41 - and an inside edge mid-afternoon, there's been little to trouble the pair.

This stand is now the third-highest opening partnership for Durham in first-class cricket. It has just passed the 262* Lees and Emilio Gay put on in a rearguard action at The Oval last July.

Next on the list is the 313 Lees and Sean Dickson scored at Hove in 2022. Top is the 314 put on by Michael Di Venuto and Kyle Coetzer at home to Notts in 2009.

It's been so easy for Durham today, it's almost as if they are playing with a Kookaburra ball.

    Lees has 106 and McKinney a career-best 154.

  3. 150 runs

150 for Ben McKinneypublished at 15:14 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 274-0

Ben McKinney is feasting on Gloucestershire in Bristol as he now tucks Craig Miles away for four more runs to bring up his 150.

He has 152 off 148 balls. He is having some day here, the Durham opener.

  4. Postpublished at 15:14 BST 10 April

    Surrey 211-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope takes one to the top of the helmet from Josh Hull and it loops up to wicket-keeper Ben Cox who takes the catch.

Just the helmet involved and no bat. We will have a slight break now as Pope is checked over.

He seems to be fine, thankfully.

  5. Division Twopublished at 15:12 BST 10 April

    #bbccricket

A breakthrough for Kent as Ricardo Vasconcelos goes for a fine 127 as Jas Singh gets him to nick one behind for a welcome respite for the home side.

Still a wonderful platform for new batter Calvin Harrison with Northants on 231-1.

Spin has broken the Worcestershire resistance with Zafar Gohar removing Tom Taylor for 19 and Middlesex have that chance of bowling the Pears out before tea as they sit on 164-8.

ESSEX ALL OUT FOR 149published at 15:12 BST 10 April

    Porter c Rew b Shaw 0 (Essex 149 all out v Somerset)

Josh Shaw prepares to release the ball as he bowls for SomersetImage source, Shutterstock

Three for Josh Shaw on his competitive debut!

Sam Cook is left one not out as his opening bowling partner Jamie Porter is caught behind for nought.

3-30 off 11 overs for the former Gloucestershire seamer.

Phenomenal first innings from Somerset, now for Josh Thomas to bat as well as he did in his debut here last September with whoever is pushed up to open with him.

My guess would be the very flexible, keen to bat anywhere, James Rew.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:11 BST 10 April

    O'Neill b Gorvin 59 (Notts 214-7)

    Glamorgan needed that!

It's been a very handy contribution by Fergus O'Neill and he certainly hasn't wasted much time with it with 59 from 82 balls.

But Andy Gorvin finally gets one to beat O'Neill's bat and it finds the top of off peg.

  8. Postpublished at 15:09 BST 10 April

    Lancs 189-3 v Derbys

No one looked in better nick than Michael Jones who was superb for his 71 in the first innings at Wantage Road last week and he has picked up here in similarly assured form.

The Ormskirk-born Scotland international has just helped himself to two fours and a two in Zak Chappell's over. When he is on the front foot – and building on a decent platform – he is a very dangerous player.

  9. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 10 April

    Notts 214-6 v Glamorgan

Every run is valuable for Notts right now - and equally painful for Glamorgan as their blistering start to the innings is slightly chipped away at by the hosts.

Fergus O'Neill edges Mason Crane down to third man for four and the scoreboard keeps on ticking.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:05 BST 10 April

    Snater b Shaw 13 (Essex 147-9 v Somerset)

Wickets galore at Chelmsford, it is hard to keep up!

2-29 off 12 overs from Jake Ball so far who has bowled immaculately, but it is Josh Shaw who gets his second Somerset wicket, bowling Shane Snater for 13 off 11 balls.

Just the two opening bowlers, Jamie Porter and Sam Cook, left between Josh Thomas and someone walking out to open the batting for Somerset in TKC's absence.

  11. 200 runs

200 up for Nottspublished at 15:03 BST 10 April

    Notts 205-6 v Glamorgan

Andy Gorvin catches Jack Haynes on the thigh and it runs down to fine leg, allowing Notts to pick up a couple more and move past 200.

Haynes then edges through the slips for another four and that also brings the partnership with Fergus O'Neill past 100.

This is much better with the bat from the hosts since lunch.

  12. 100 runs

100 for Alex Leespublished at 15:02 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 257-0

No nervous nineties for Alex Lees!

Only two balls later and again Craig Miles is obliging, offering Lees the chance to steer one down to a vacant third for the four runs he needs.

The captain is in the runs after a lean start against Kent and with Durham wanting to correct the wrongs of that shock relegation last year.

A bit slower than Ben McKinney but still only 157 balls required for this effort.

  13. 250 runs

First batting point for Durhampublished at 15:02 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 253-0

The first ball of the 50th over from Craig Miles... it is so wide that Alex Lees does well to even reach it, but he does more than that, steering it through the offside for yet another boundary.

A first batting point for the visitors and now Lees is only four short of a century.

  14. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 10 April

    Surrey 206-2 v Leics

Not sure Ajaz Patel will be massively enjoying his Leicestershire debut so far.

Ollie Pope comes down the track to make the length ball a half-volley and it's brilliant execution as he slams through the covers for four to move onto 83.

Both he and Jamie Smith (88*) will have three figures in their sights now.

  15. 6 runs

150 up for Warwickshirepublished at 15:00 BST 10 April

    Sussex v Warwickshire 150-6

Chris Woakes played in the disappointing Bazball era remember, so had plenty of practice hitting sixes in six-hitting contests and instead of digging England out of a hole at 68-6 often being encouraged to tee off further.

So maybe he is the perfect man to play an aggressive role for his county at number eight after the top order failed now?

He hits Henry Crocombe for six off the back foot over the leg side, then takes four next ball too to bring up the Warwickshire 150 in the 47th over.

  16. 200 runs

200 up for Surreypublished at 14:59 BST 10 April

    Surrey 202-2 v Leics

Lovely work, Jamie Smith. He stands tall, gets on top of it from Ben Green and strokes it down the ground for four with a perfectly straight bat.

Surrey have raced along since lunch and they pass 200.

Still eight wickets in hand for the title challengers.

  17. 50 runs

    50 for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 14:57 BST 10 April

    Middlesex v Worcestershire 151-7

The one thing you can always expect from Worcestershire is fight and that is epitomised by captain Brett D'Oliveira.

Here he is digging in for his side and raising his bat after swiping Ryan Higgins down the ground for the boundary to bring up a 50 off 92 balls.

He has also found good support from Tom Taylor after they came together at 106-7.

  18. Postpublished at 14:57 BST 10 April

    Surrey 197-2 v Leics

A big flash outside off by Ollie Pope from Ben Green and it grazes narrowly past the edge.

Green does then find Pope's outside edge the very next ball... but it flies for four past where second slip would have been stood.

That's the third time we've said that.

  19. 4-4-1 from Snaterpublished at 14:56 BST 10 April

    Essex 143-8 v Somerset

See earlier entry, regarding Shane Snater's want to see ball, hit ball.

Well of course, as we have seen many times before, he does just that.

A straight drive for four, then a bumper pulled for four, before a single to deep square all off Craig Overton.

Good batting by the Essex number nine, though Sam Cook is some drop off to number 10.

  20. 50 runs

    50 for Fergus O'Neillpublished at 14:55 BST 10 April

    Notts 188-6 v Glamorgan

Fergus O'Neill moves to 50 off just 67 balls with a four through the covers off Andy Gorvin and this partnership is exactly what Nottinghamshire needed after slumping to 103-6.

With Jack Haynes unbeaten on 58 at the other end, the hosts are just starting to put it together now.
