    Dave Bracegirdle

It was a good sharp low catch from Liam Patterson-White, his second in this spell.

Leicestershire need that partnership sooner rather than later.

    Mark Church

Well played Adam Thomas, what a start that is!

    Hill c Patterson-White b Stone 15 (Leics 308 & 128-4 f/o v Notts 490)

Olly Stone has a second of the innings and a seventh of the match as another edge flies into the grateful and safe hands of Liam Patterson-White at first slip.

Lewis Hill is well-beaten by another excellent delivery from Stone, angling it in and bending it away as he passed the bat.

Leics still trail by 54 runs and Steve Eskinazi is back out batting not long after he reached his century and became the last Foxes wicket to fall in the first innings.

  5. 100 runs

Adam Thomas raises his bat for a century on debut!

He pulls Ollie Robinson out towards the boundary, it's not a clean hit but it's safe and after a tumbling stop, Thomas turns quickly and gets the two he needs.

He's only the 10th Surrey player to get a ton on his first-class debut, and the third to do so at The Oval.

  6. Postpublished at 15:43 BST 3 May

    Surrey 576-7 v Sussex 358-9 dec

Sean Abbott now slaps James Coles for four, with Ollie Robinson unable to do much but escort it to the boundary.

There will be discussions in the tea interval about how many overs Surrey want to leave themselves to try and take 10 wickets.

  7. 'Sharp again from Olly Stone'published at 15:43 BST 3 May

    Leics 308 & 119-3 f/o v Notts 490

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It was sharp again from Olly Stone, a really good lifter outside the off stump and Ian Holland got a good one there, and in the interest of self preservation just try and fend it off his nose.

It was a really good catch at third slip by Jack Haynes.

Good bowling change made by Haseeb Hameed.

Yorks 238-6 (lead Somerset by 126 runs)

Dom Bess, against his former club, is off the pair with a boundary. The ball trickled apologetically into the rope. Every run is important for Yorkshire.

A really good innings by Ben Mayes, he showed really good resistance and the 18-year-old looks a prospect on this performance.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:33 BST 3 May

    Holland c Haynes b Stone 6 (Leics 308 & 119-3 f/o v Notts 490)

Ian Holland cannot keep a rising ball from taking the edge of his bat and Jack Haynes takes a brilliant catch at third slip.

Olly Stone banged that in and got a bit of lift that caught Holland by surprise. Haynes dives across second slip to take it from his hands.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:31 BST 3 May

    Wharton c Gregory b Ogborne 92 (Yorks 226-6, lead Somerset by 114)

    Somerset with another big breakthrough.

The well-set James Wharton had just been tied down a little. He took a stride into a wide delivery from Alfie Ogborne but nicked the ball and Lewis Gregory took a neat catch to his left at first slip.

This game has moved on quickly. Somerset firmly on top.

  17. 50 runs

for Ben Mayespublished at 15:28 BST 3 May

    Hants 205-9 v Glam 536-7d

Not too many bright spots for Hants but 18-year-old Ben Mayes has just provided a glimmer, reaching his half century.

It is his first half century in only his fourth first class match and took him 98 balls with six fours.

Don't think I've seen a more opposite two innings from one player like Wharton for Yorkshire. Was out three times in one over in the first innings and had a 20-ball duck. Now in the second innings, looks the pick of the Yorkshire batsmen. That's the Championship for you.
