  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:24 BST 3 May

    Bedingham c du Plooy b Gohar 147 (Middlesex 430 v Durham 418-6)

That's a big wicket for Middlesex, just when Durham looked like they might build a challenging lead at Lord's.

David Bedingham falls just short of his 150 as he snicks spinner Zafar Gohar to slip.

At the other end, Kasey Aldridge has passed fifty.

  2. 300 up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:22 BST 3 May

Yorks 303-8 (lead Somerset by 191)

Yorkshire's 300 comes up in a slightly fortunate fashion, as Jhye Richardson goes for a drive but manages to inside edge past his stumps and down to the fine leg boundary.

  3. Postpublished at 17:18 BST 3 May

Sussex 9-2 (trail Surrey by 255 runs)

Matthew Fisher almost has a third. He gets the ball to leave Daniel Hughes, who won't look fondly on his indeterminate prod - but it misses the edge by inches.

Jordan Clark comes on to replace Sean Abbott at the other end.

  4. new ball

New ball taken at Tauntonpublished at 17:13 BST 3 May

Yorks 294-8 (lead Somerset by 182)

Somerset have opted to take the second new ball. Their aim will be to polish off the Yorkshire tail as quickly as possible.

Migael Pretorius, who bowled two overs with the old ball in tandem with Archie Vaughan, will continue with the new cherry.

  5. Postpublished at 17:11 BST 3 May

    Leics 308 & 158-6 f/o v Notts 490

Jonathan Tattersall (22) and Ben Green (13) have put on 27 for the seventh wicket and have taken the sting out of the Notts charge momentarily.

You suspect it may not challenge the direction in which this contest is currently heading but it has taken the Foxes to within 24 runs.

  6. Postpublished at 17:09 BST 3 May

Sussex 8-2 (trail Surrey by 256 runs)

Sussex are still reeling but Daniel Hughes and Jack Leaning are trying to steady a very rocky ship.

Leaning times a lovely drive down the ground for the first boundary of the second innings.

  7. 'The sharpest turn we've seen all match'published at 17:08 BST 3 May

Yorks 286-8, leading Somerset by 174

    Stephen Lamb
    BBC Radio Somerset

Logan van Beek stood for a moment in disbelief, that looked like it turned sharply onto him.

That's the sharpest turn we've seen all match by a distance.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 BST 3 May

Van Beek b Vaughan 5 (Yorks 286-8, leading Somerset by 174)

What a ball from Archie Vaughan!

Logan van Beek is absolutely done by one that turns from outside off and hits middle and leg stumps.

That is a big wicket for Somerset at a crucial time, just before the second new ball is due.

  9. 400 up for Durhampublished at 17:02 BST 3 May

    Middlesex 430 v Durham 401-5

Durham remain in the driving seat at Lord's, although they're running out of time to force a result.

The visitors bring up their 400 in the 107th over to secure four batting bonus points.

David Bedingham continues on his merry way - the South African is up to 142.

  10. 100 runs

for Benjaminpublished at 17:00 BST 3 May

    Kent 352 & 273-6 v Derbyshire 304

This could well be a match-winning century from Kent wicketkeeper Chris Benjamin.

Benjamin, who turned 27 last week, brings up his second first-class hundred having helped his side into a lead of more than 300.

How many overs will Kent want at Derbyshire tonight? Technically 29 remain.

  11. 'Sussex are in dire straits'published at 16:59 BST 3 May

Sussex 0-2, trail Surrey by 264 runs

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

    Sussex are in dire straits.

James Coles has gone for duck and poor old Tom Haines is off the field retired hurt.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:55 BST 3 May

Coles c Smith b Fisher 0 (Sussex 0-2, trail Surrey by 264 runs)

Oh my word - now James Coles has gone!

It's a cracking delivery from Matthew Fisher, that moves away and has Coles playing at its original line, inducing an edge through to the wicket keeper.

Coles, batting at number 4, would not have expected to be at the crease for the third ball of the innings. Perhaps that, the scoreboard pressure and the toil in the field has caused his dismissal.

Sussex have now lost an opener to injury, and numbers three and four are back in the hutch without scoring, all within the first six balls.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:52 BST 3 May

Clark lbw b Fisher 0 (Sussex 0-1, trail Surrey by 264 runs)

Tom Clark is gone first ball!

Matt Fisher pitches the ball on middle and leg but Clark plays right across it and it traps him in front.

    What a start for Surrey.

  14. 'That came from nowhere'published at 16:51 BST 3 May

Yorks 273-7 lead Somerset by 161 runs

    Annie Chave
    BBC Somerset

That sort of came from nowhere.

It felt like Lewis Gregory was toiling for his over and it was a long over which may have interrupted the concentration of George Hill

  15. Haines retired hurtpublished at 16:50 BST 3 May

Sussex 0-0 (trail Surrey by 264 runs)

Tom Haines, after being struck by the first ball of the innings, has wandered off gingerly and will be assessed.

    Tom Clark comes in.

  16. Postpublished at 16:50 BST 3 May

    Northants 597-7 dec v Worcs 306 & 41-2

Calvin Harrison bowlingImage source, Getty Images

Northants are in complete control against Worcestershire.

Both Pears openers are already gone in their second innings, and the deficit is still 250.

One glimmer of hope for the Pears is that first-innings century maker Gareth Roderick is there on 18.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:47 BST 3 May

Hill c Overton b Gregory 31 (Yorks 273-7 lead Somerset by 161 runs)

George Hill has fenced at one outside the off stump from Lewis Gregory and Craig Overton takes a smart catch at second slip.

Hill rehearses the full leave before removing himself from the scene. Bit late for that.

  18. Postpublished at 16:45 BST 3 May

    Kent 352 & 254-6 v Derbyshire 304

Kent's lead has gone beyond 300 at Canterbury.

Chris Benjamin and Joey Evison have put on a potentially match-winning stand of 132 for the seventh wicket. Don't forget, Kent were 55-5 in the first session and in all sorts of trouble.

  19. ouch!

Haines struckpublished at 16:44 BST 3 May

Sussex 0-0 (trail Surrey by 264 runs)

Tom Haines is also in the wars, but this could be a lot more problematic.

The very first ball of Sussex's second innings is a lifter from Matt Fisher, which seems to strike Haines either in the grill or just below.

  20. Postpublished at 16:41 BST 3 May

Yorks 268-6 (lead Somerset by 156 runs)

Man down. Dom Bess is struck 'amidships', as they say, by a Lewis Gregory delivery.

There's a lot of groans from the other 12 men in the field, who feel his pain.

Bess collapses to his haunches while he regains his composure.
