  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:57 BST 26 April

    Hughes b Richardson 0 (Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 18-1)

Sussex are into the lead but an opening batter down.

Daniel Hughes only made 10 in the first innings and he goes without scoring in the second.

Jhye Richardson, who it's probably fair to play didn't have his best bowling performance in the first innings with 0-131, shows what he can do here though with ripper to clean bowl Hughes.

  2. Postpublished at 17:55 BST 26 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 11-0

Lively from Sean Abbott and Gus Atkinson, who have both whizzed deliveries just past the outside edge off Dean Elgar.

The experienced opener eases the pressure, though, by steering Abbott deftly to the point boundary.

Four overs left tonight, with Essex 52 behind.

  3. Postpublished at 17:43 BST 26 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 3-0

A fairly sedate start to Essex's second innings, with just a single scoring shot in the first two overs - a single to Dean Elgar.

No real surprise there as the visitors' primary target will be to keep all 10 of their wickets intact going into day four.

    Seven overs left tonight.

  4. 'Duckett will be frustrated'published at 17:38 BST 26 April

    Notts 268-2 (f/o) & 279 v vs Warks 459

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Late in the day and Warwickshire will be looking to do what they did yesterday and take a few wickets.

Duckett will be so frustrated not to get his century, but he has got a load of runs which shows he is in good form ahead of the Test match summer.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:35 BST 26 April

    Duckett c Barnard b Mousley 93 (Notts 268-2 f/o & 279 v Warks 459 )

Warwickshire's off-spin plan, albeit expensive, finally pays off! Ben Duckett is caught at point off the bowling of Dan Mousley.

An explosive 120-ball innings from Duckett comes to an end, and breaks the impressive 150 run partnership between himself and Haseeb Hameed.

Joe Clarke joins his skipper at the crease.

  6. YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 511published at 17:33 BST 26 April

Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 – Yorks lead by nine runs

Jhye Richardson chops onto his own stumps from James Coles - whose muted celebration maybe shows the tiredness and the length of time Sussex have spent in the field - 140 overs.

There will still be time tonight for Yorkshire to have a crack at Sussex's opening batters.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:26 BST 26 April

    Fisher c Pepper b Harmer 2 (Surrey 472 v Essex 409)

And that's the end of the Surrey innings as Simon Harmer has Matt Fisher caught down the leg side.

Third wicket for Harmer (3-69) and fourth dismissal for Michael Pepper and it means the gap between these sides is 63 runs.

It also means Essex's openers will face a tricky nine-over spell before stumps.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:21 BST 26 April

    Notts 257-1 (f/o) & 279 v Warks 459 (Notts lead by 77)

Haseeb Hameed is dropped by Chris Woakes off the bowling of Dan Mousley.

After crunching Mousley for four earlier in the over, Hameed attempts a big shot over mid-off and doesn't get hold of it.

Woakes attempts a catch after turning and running back, and gets his fingertips on it but cannot hold on.

Those catches are more difficult than they look, but Woakes will be disappointed nonetheless: the Bears needed that wicket.

  9. Division Two latestpublished at 17:19 BST 26 April

Lancashire's lead over Durham has gone beyond 300. Callum Parkinson finally got Michael Jones for 72 to break a stand of 131 with Paul Coughlin, but Coughlin remains on 81. Lancashire are 228-7 and 303 in front.

Gloucestershire have removed both Derbyshire openers after asking their opponents to follow on. Derbyshire are now 76-2 and trailing by 141.

  10. Yorkshire into the leadpublished at 17:18 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 504-9 v Sussex 502

Two scores of more than 500 at Headingley and the hosts are in front.

  11. 'Warwickshire not lucky with the ball'published at 17:18 BST 26 April

    Notts 249-1 (f/o) & 279 v vs Warks 459

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

You see it so many times in cricket where a team doesn't perform in one innings then reverse that in the next.

Warwickshire haven't been too lucky with the ball today, like they were yesterday.

    Surrey 469-9 v Essex 409

Matt Critchley appealsImage source, Getty Images

Matt Critchley was convinced he'd wrapped up this Surrey innings just now as Gus Atkinson had a big heave, missed and looked pretty much in front of the stumps as the ball struck his leg.

The umpire disagreed and Surrey's innings continues, with Atkinson - who is 18 not out - propelling their lead up to 60.

Test hundred on Atkinson's record, don't forget - so Surrey won't have given up on stretching this advantage a bit further yet.

  13. Postpublished at 17:11 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 495-9 v Sussex 502

Jack White is the last man in for Yorkshire who are seven behind Sussex's total.

  14. Aldridge equals Durham recordpublished at 17:10 BST 26 April

    Durham 295 v Lancashire 370 & 218-7

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Kasey Aldridge has equalled the Durham record for the most catches by a fielder in an innings. Which is surprisingly only four!

He was fielding at first slip when Michael Jones shaped up to try and reverse sweep Callum Parkinson. Sensing an opportunity, he sprinted around behind the keeper and took an excellent one-handed catch at leg slip.

Jones was out for 72 and it ended a partnership with Paul Coughlin of 131, with the former Durham men doing their best to dent their hosts' hopes of a win in this one.

Coughlin has since moved onto 78 and has just cleared the ropes for his first six.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:10 BST 26 April

    Van Beek c Simpson b Crocombe 29 (Yorkshire 495-9 v Sussex 502)

Sussex had Yorkshire eight down for 446 and could have given themselves a handy lead if they had grabbed the remaining wickets quickly.

But Logan van Beek and Jhye Richardson had other ideas and their partnership of 49 has almost got the hosts level.

However Van Beek has just departed to give Henry Crocombe his third wicket and wicketkeeper John Simpson another catch.

  16. Notts on the chargepublished at 17:06 BST 26 April

    Nottinghamshire 239-1 (f/o) & 279 v Warwickshire 459 (Notts lead by 59)

The Rob Yates off-spin gamble has not gone to plan for Warwickshire.

He has conceded 48 runs off eight overs and has been completely dominated by Ben Duckett.

Yates has probably bowled a few overs too many and has relieved any pressure that was being built by Jordan Thompson at the other end.

It has also got Duckett firing, he has raced to 78 runs off 99 deliveries.

  17. 450 up for Foxespublished at 17:05 BST 26 April

    Glamorgan 440 v Leicestershire 450-5

Leicestershire make it 450 in the 123rd over.

Jonny Tattersall is still going on strong on 64, with Ben Cox on seven.

I am disappointed to see criticism for Warwickshire enforcing the follow on. It was unlikely that the county champions’ strong batting line up would fail twice but it was the attacking option and Ed Barnard should be praised for taking it. Also not enough praise for bowling Notts out for 279.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:02 BST 26 April

    Abbott c b Harmer 8 (Surrey 450-9 v Essex 409)

And now Simon Harmer has his second wicket as Sean Abbott holes out to mid-off.

Essex will be happy with the way their spinners have performed in this post-tea period and it looks as though they will restrict Surrey to a relatively small lead.

The flipside of that is the Essex openers could well have to face an hour or so tonight, with their side in arrears.

Last man Matthew Fisher is in the middle for Surrey.

  20. 100 runs

for Hameedpublished at 17:02 BST 26 April

    Notts 234-1 (f/o) & 279 v Warks 459 (Notts lead by 54)

Well batted Haseeb Hameed. A richly deserved century.

The ever-reliable Notts skipper reaches his first hundred of the 2026 season off 215 balls and at a time when his county needed him.

He reaches his century characteristically, through a push through the covers for a single. His team-mates celebrate passionately on the balcony as he raises his bat towards them.

His 20th first-class ton, and his 14th for Nottinghamshire!
